Hurrying up, with her heartbeat unstable, Mrs. Lourdes de la Barrera came into that room without permission where she was told her grandson was.“You brat!” She said, coming in. “Where is she?” “What are you talking about, grandma?” “Have you apologized to her? Where is she? Is she okay? I can’t believe it! You, my own grandson! Right away, Maria Fernanda’s smile changed its direction and as soon as she felt the eyes of someone else on her, she realized that it was none other than Mr. de la Barrera. The great Stefan de la Barrera was walking up to them firmly. Finally, he had seen them interacting. “Oh! Stefan! What a pleasure to see you.” Elijah greeted as false as he could to show him how sick his presence made him. “I hadn’t had the time to greet you because-”“Thank you so much for coming.” Stefan faced him, cutting him off. The two men looked at each other without anything else to say. Everything that they wanted to one another was already printed in their eyes. “Did you finish talking to you people?” Elijah asked shamelessly. “What are you doing here? You said you couldn’t come.”“Oh! Elijah wasn’t the kinda man who liked to insist so much, he knew the world was full of precious women, he knew he just needed a little bit of his power accompanied by his smile, a smile that was all of him, those things were enough for him to get any woman he liked. Even though the reality at that moment was becoming a little more complicated. Why did he feel the need to insist to that woman, who, above all things, she was being hard headed? It didn’t matter to him if she was married, she was single, was a widow, or whatever thing she was, in the end she was a divine woman with the kinda temper he had to respect whether he liked it or not. Suddenly, among all the clouded images she could see with her eyes slightly opened after she started waking up from the blackout, she could see that face that seemed a little more attractive than she remembered. Suddenly, he was more attractive than anyone. The same one who was looking at her, and never imagined she was waking up just to see that image.Nervously, she moved between the arms of the person who had rescued her from falling into that abyss. Her eyes claimed with every single blink for that reality she wasn’t yet aware. She felt her body fragile. And the people who had seen everything, the same people who had been enjoying that party, but couldn’t help but feel called for the voices gathering around some meters away. In his car, Stefan was doing everything he could for his strength to not let him fall there, where he needed them the most. And for every minute that went by, Maria Fernanda seemed to black out. “We’re almost there.” He said, driving like a crazy. His left hand on the steer wheel, had his eyes straight ahead and his right hand on the leg of Maria Fernanda. Maria Fernanda smiled, she was losing herself in the world of dreams, those dreams that were broken now and just guiltiness absorbed them, altogether with her hallucinations. “I’m sorry,” she said, calling Stefan’s attention at the moment. The woman was indeed hallucinating. “I’m very sorry,” she continued. The fever was going up and it was getting difficult to stay awake, so her dark side was coming out. “Why are you saying so, Maria Fernanda? Rushly, the car continued its way to the hospital, feeling how instability made Stefan’s body its prey. From time to time he looked at Maria Fernanda like he was making sure that she was still there when she was deeply sleeping next to him. In Stefan’s mind he just wanted to think that he was looking at her just because it was a way to see how she was, but inside of him, deeply inside of him he knew the reason was afar different and it had to do something with what he had discovered as soon as her body had fallen in his arms like she was some kind of a Cinderella. Something was wrong with her and for the first time, he cared about someone and this someone was a woman.“We’re almost there, Maria Fernanda,” he said as she was listening to him. “ I said I shouldn’t have mercy or compassion for people like you, " he continued explaining to her, but more than being an explanation to her it was an explanation to himself. “But I’m here, Maria Fernanda, I’m not a bad guy, right?”Once again

Being in the waiting room of that hospital, with a coffee in his hands, still not being able to understand what had happened in that brief moment. What Stefan knew about her was she had fallen in such a way because of the itch of the animal. The seriousness of the venom was already gone, but it didn’t mean she was completely fine after what had happened. The worst of all wasn’t exactly that, since when he started caring about the people who surrounded him? All seemed that the cause of his concern towards that kind of people was because she was different, she liked to stand up and fight to death for what she thought was correct, and Stefan had never met someone like her in the past. “Elisa, what’s going with me?” He asked as if that woman he was referring to was able to listen to him and answer all of his questions.
