I didn’t even realize when I fell asleep.

One minute I was staring at my phone after texting Elena… the next, everything went quiet.

But it didn't last long.

My phone vibrating against the bedside table pulled me out of it.

I reached out blindly and grabbed it.

It was Naomi… Again.

My heart skipped.

Just seeing her name on the screen made something tighten in my chest.

I just stared at it for a second, then I answered.

“Naomi?”

“Layla.”
