By the time Layla stepped out of the café, her phone was already pressed to her ear, her voice was sharp and steady despite the storm building inside her.

“I need your services ,” she said the second the line connected. “Right now.”

There was a pause on the other end.

“It’s urgent.. I’m sending you the address.”

She started walking faster, Viktor just ahead of her, already unlocking the car.

She ended the call without waiting for a response and slid into the passenger seat.
