"Moon goddess." I folded my hands in front of statue of the moon goddess. "it has been five years, five freaking years moon goddess, please bless me this time." I prayed desperately. From last twenty years and so, the day I first get to know that we werewolves are a blessing of the moon goddess and she is the one who blessed us with the other half of our soul, our soulmates I visited this temple every day, with only one prayer, for my mate and still she had not answered my prayers.
We werewolves generally found our mates within a fortnight after we crossed eighteen. But me as a special serious case couldn't find my mate. I am not complaining, I am absolutely fine with this 'no mate ship' thing but the thing I can't stand is rumors. Well, being the daughter of an Alpha has its own benefits and disadvantages. I shake my head; this is not the time to sour my head with ill feelings, jeez I am in temple. I shake my head and put a rose at the feet of the statue as my offering.
Today is my twenty-fifth birthday, which means I completed straight eighty human years without my mate. With my last prayer I bowed again and start walking towards my home.
We reside in the blue moon pack which is the second largest pack in our continent. The journey wasn't long and soon I was standing in front of the pack house. I opened the front door and immediately hugged by my mother.
"I have made your favorite pancakes," she whispered in my ear so that nobody in the living room can listen with their high werewolf abilities. I giggled and returned the hug.
"Let me freshen up first," I said and started walking towards the washroom. I looked at the mirror. As usual my deep brown hairs are looking mess, they are long and finishes at my waist, hazel brown eyes, and pale skin. I inherited all my characters from mother except my nose and lips which were exactly the same copy of my father. I washed my face and headed downstairs.
All were already sitting on their seats patiently, waiting for me. I saw my father sitting on the chair reading some papers related with the pack business. I kissed him on his cheek and sat beside him. My brother and the next contender for the alpha position of our pack was watching me with a mischievous glint.
Trust me he is the best brother every girl wanted but at sometimes he is annoying as hell.
"Good morning daddy". I said cheerfully.
"Good morning Emmy", my father said in his deep voice. His voice holds power and authority.
"Good morning Emmy", my brother said with a smirk.
"Good morning August", I said narrowing my eyes in his direction and make a mental note to slap that stupid smirk from his face.
"Someone had a bad sleep?" August asked mockingly.
"Yes, because one asshole of a brother brought a girl at home last night," I mind linked him to shut him up. I very well know how to deal with my brother.
"You two, show this heat in the battleground." Our father scolded sensing the tension within us. With me turning twenty-five years old, now I am also eligible to compete for the post of the alpha position. It was my dream to be the first ever female alpha and my family respects it. I am surely more matured than my brother but in battleground he is completely opposite. Being older than me by one year had already given him advantage in training but still my wolf can beat his ass off.
Me and my brother had always trained together. But everything changed when our father told us that we both are equally eligible for the alpha title. August completely changed, he trained without me, he actively takes part in pack matters, not that I am complaining but he had become somewhat shady and I am concerned it will ruin our relationship.
I nodded my head and in acceptance and started eating the food. I know how much it means for august to be an alpha because I have the same dream.
"Promise me, whatever happens after the battleground, it won't affect our relationship." I mind linked him.
After our father has announced that we both are equally worthy for the alpha title, I have seen my brother distancing, he neither show it on surface nor talked about it, but still he is in the crossroads; just like me.
"I promise... well it doesn't matter because I am the one who will be winning." He said breaking the tension. I smiled and gave my undivided attention to the food and tried to live this moment because after this day everything was going to change. Who else know this twenty-five years old, Esma Rockwood, daughter of the most feared alpha was never be the same after today?
"So, the rules are pretty simple, the one who submit or the one who died will lose, Am I clear to both of you," my father said clearing his point. "However, I prefer you knocked out the other, I don't want blood-shed." he mindlinked us. The whole pack had already gathered to witness who would be the next successor and ruler of the Blue moon pack.I looked at my brother, he was everything to me, I could do anything for him, and I knew he would do the same, but toady it was not about relations or seeing who can sacrifice what. It was about the future of the five hundred wolves who have their hopes in our father, in us.Also it was in our blood. We live with and for dominance. And no two alpha bloods can live under the same roof without the blood bath. One has to accept the other's dominance. With the whistle indicating the fight had already started. August lunged towards me without wasting any second. Even after training without me I know his tactics. I quic
I looked at the forest. Hundreds of wolves keep emerging out of the forest all bearing their canines, ready to tear anyone from limb to limb whoever tries to stop them on their path of destruction. I don't give a flying fuck about them.Only person I am concerned about was my mate, my other half. I scanned all through them but I could not find him. Everything was still, nobody dared to make a move from either side.Who could have that courage to attack on us?My father is the most feared alpha and he had already good relations with other pack. We meant no harm to anybody. Unlike others, my father is not some power hunger psychopath who attacked on other packs to expand their territory. Then all of a sudden, out of blue, one man, only in his birth suit, emerged from the wolves and walked towards my father. Being werewolves, nudity was not an issue, but seeing a totally stranger butt-naked was something which brought blood to my cheeks. And no doubt he
I don't know what to do, I mean I have dreamed thousands of scenarios of meeting my mate but not even in my worst nightmares I have thought that the most tyrant alpha, Alpha Reed Xander would be my mate. The most ruthless, merciless alpha. Even if I would consider it now, he had already called on for the war.I quickly mind linked the pack doctor to reach the pack house, first things first. I grabbed my father's hand and pulled it on my shoulder to keep him balanced, his injuries were already healing but a hit from alpha needed time to heal. I looked for my brother, before I said something, Reed signals someone and in the next moment August was being carried on a stature, his face covered in blood, body unconscious.I was terrified, the rumors were true, Alpha Reed Xander just don't took down his enemies, he destroyed them. The scene was horrific, I bit my lips and fought back the tears.Don't show your enemies your weakness.i started walking with m
It's been a whole year since the attack. Since I rejected Him...After his departure, the things didn't run smoothly as I have anticipated. My father was critically injured. The doctors tried their best to put him back from coma but they hardly believed he will ever walk again when he regained his consciousness. The pack was in total chaos. Without the presence of their leader, a pack soon comes on the brink of destruction. My brother took his name out from the alpha contender after he was healed, still now he blamed himself that he couldn't save our pack. He beat himself till now for it. So, to re-establish the proper conduct I had to stand as the new alpha.I had not told a single soul what kind of deal I had sealed with the devil, my mother tried so many times to ask me about that day leaving me to drop the conversation immediately. She knew I had not recovered myself from that.Being the very first female alpha was not an easy task. So many peop
"Oh yes, over my dead body." Alpha Darek shouted."It was our ancestor's land; you had no right to claim it." Alpha Diaz shouted from the other side. From last one hour these two crazy alphas were fighting for a stupid piece of land. The same piece for which their ancestors fought for and eventually died and now looking at the present scenario, I could bet they would meet the same end.Dumeny was still absent, which was an issue because he was the one who summoned the meeting on the first hand.Every year, all the seven alphas across the world united under the same roof to resolve conflicts; to preserve harmony and peace. But looking at these two, peace seems to be a short word. The other two alphas were unable to attend this meeting so they sent their betas."You arrogant bastard, you thought you could win against me?" Darek said in pride. "you would hardly last one minute.""Are you calling for a war?" Diaz said showing his canines.
It took me almost an hour before I changed from my work attire and wore one of my dresses I had gotten and did my party makeup. Once I was done, I stood motionless, glaring at my own reflection and feeling a little disheartened. Knowing Dumeny, I was already prepared for something fancy. He never hosts just dinners. Dinner was just for the sake of name for him.Dumeny came behind me and stood silently looking at my reflection. "You look great.""Thanks," I whispered back, the undazzled look still not leaving my face."What's wrong." Dumeny asked, voice lased with concern.I shake my head; I don't want to spoil his mood. I couldn't talk to him about Reed. God knows what he would do then."Nothing." I faked smile and hold his hand. "let's go to the dinner." I said quickly changing the topic and crossed my hand with his. We walked through the stairs of the hall only to entered in the hotel's dining room."You booked it already?" I asked grinnin
Reed's pov"Refill it and leave the bottle." I ordered the waitress. She silently nodded and sprinted back to the counter. I gulped the first glass like it was water and refill the glass quickly. Today was one of the longest day of my life.I hated that Asher ditched me at the last second otherwise I won't be here at the first place tolerating the presence of these scumbags. I doubted if Asher's presence would make any difference now. After all, she was here.As if in queue, she walked through the stairs, walking in her own glory. Her red dress was not helping either. Her hazel brown eyes were the first thing that always caught my attention. So vibrant, fierce but still laced with innocence. Her deep brown hairs were longer than I last remember. My hands ached to play with her hairs' curls.I shake my head. I was acting like some love sick teenager. I decided to leave the room before I would do something I regret.I w
“Are you sure you are alright?” Dumeny asked for the fiftieth time.I nodded. And with that he started pacing around the room again.“Why were they after her?” Diaz asked the most obvious question everyone were thinking about right now.“Hell, she is the alpha, and the top of that she is a female, making her the easy target.” Darek said lamely as if stating the facts. Was I really an easy target?“I guess we should deliver her…” before Darek would have completed that sentence, Dumeny backed him to the wall by his neck.“Say the word and that would be your last sentence before death.” Dumeny said, baring his canines, showing his wolf on the surface. Darek was fighting to loose himself from his hold, his face turning blue with every second.“Dumeny stop it. I don’t want anybody fighting for me.”Surely not after when the witches al
