FAZER LOGINAuthor's POVAdrian drove out of the office, his mind boiling with anger at what had transpired back at Clara's office and how she remained mute like she had no idea what he was talking about. Instead, it was to keep Julian from their discussion. Maybe she didn't want him to hear what they were talking about because she didn't want Julian to have the slightest idea. He felt bad that Clara still let Julian get so close to her and even defended him when she knew she felt nothing for him. It made no sense to him why she would rope him along when she had no feelings for him. By the time he got to his street, another thought crossed his mind and it made him step on the brakes abruptly. What if she was being forced into being in a relationship with him? The thought stuck in his mind like a bone that refused to digest. That was possible, very possible since he didn't know what their relationship was over the years and why Julian kept saying that he could never understand their relation
ClaraJulian frowned. “You know exactly what I mean,” he said. “What was he talking about?”I shrugged lightly.“He came to talk about someone called Elena.” Julian’s brows knitted together immediately.“Elena?”“Yes.”“Do you know anyone by that name?” he asked quickly.I shook my head without hesitation. “No idea.”Julian studied my face carefully. He wasn’t convinced.“He sounded like you knew her,” he said slowly. I gave a small scoff.“He sounded like a lot of things.” Julian didn’t smile. Instead, he stepped closer.“If you remember anything…” he said, his voice lowering slightly, “you should tell me.” I didn’t respond. His eyes searched mine more intensely now.“Clara,” he pressed. “If something is coming back to you—memories, people—anything at all, you should let me know.”I held his gaze for a moment longer, then I simply turned and walked past him.“Clara—” he called but I kept walking. I had no intention of continuing that conversation.Behind me, I could feel his eyes fol
ClaraI had no idea how to tell Adrian to stop talking about Elena. Few hours before he came to my office, Julian stepped in holding a paper gift bag. I wanted to ask him what he was doing in my office but when I saw the gift bag, I knew already that he was there to patronize me. "How are you doing this beautiful morning darling?" He asked with a smile and I fought hard not to roll my eyes at him. "Don't you have an office to run Julian? Why are you not in the office?" I asked instead, trying to control the irritation that crossed my face. "I wanted to bring you a little something to show you how much I appreciate you." He held out the gift bag and placed it on my table. I'd told him before that gifting me wasn't the way. I had no feelings for him and showing me gifts everyday wouldn't fix my feelings especially since he conived with the mafia boss to pass a stern warning across. He probably thought what I said was just my feelings alone but I meant every word I said. I will n
AdrianMy meeting with Elena and the DPO stuck in my mind. I was trying to figure out what was going on. The reason why the officer refused to take the case seriously. When a call came into my phone. It was from Silas. I paused when I saw the call, wondering why Silas was calling me. I was supposed to call him if I bought his offer. I picked the call regardless and waited for him to speak first. "Hello nephew," Silas's voice spoke from the other side. He sounded like he was on something. "Have you thought about the offer? There is no more time." He continued. I almost scoffed at his words. He must think I was a joke or a pushover who would do anything he was told out of fear. "I'm not signing any offer with you." I replied bluntly and he gave a slight chuckle. "Are you sure you thought your answer through?" He was not going to back down easily. "I'm sure you've seen Elena. She's out of prison now and she'll constantly show up in front of you to frustrate you...""Then, I'll fi
Clara's Pov "Boss, someone is waiting to see you." My PA informed me as I sat behind the desk in my office. "Who is it?""She didn't say and I couldn't see her face either." She replied casually but that sounded so alarming in my ears. I looked up from my computer and paused for a few seconds. "Shr didn't say her name?" I asked again and my PA nodded in confirmation. "Tell her I don't see people with no names and she has to verify her face as well." She nodded and stepped out of my office. As much as I knew I was loved, I was also aware that I was a potential target for a lot of people. And I had enemies even though it didn't seem like that from the outside and flashy cameras. Coupled with the warning I received from the Mafia boss the other week. I had to be extremely careful with the people I let into my space. My PA returned after some minutes, holding her iPad. "She has refused to say her name but she showed her face." I gave a shrug. "How's that going to help anybody?
Author's POVAdrian stayed there minutes after the officer walked out of his office. He felt insulted and dismissed without regard. The DPO who handled the case for him was transferred to a different country but while the new officer resumed work, he made sure to pay him a visit and explain the case to him which the officer seemed to be updated about and assured him everything was under control and was going to be handled the way the previous officer would handle it. But hearing the words from his mouth now, Adrian didn't know what to think. Something about the way the officer dismissed the issue made him suspect something was wrong somewhere. Even if he had to empty the cells for murderers, he could have left the option open to put her back in jail if they had more space. But he closed the case instead. He wasn't there when they found the body everyone thought was his wife. They weren't there when Elena confessed to what she did; conniving with his uncle to demoralize him. Adri

Adrian povI drove to the old man's house wondering why he had called to see me at night. Elena insisted she was coming along with me and I couldn't say no. Different thoughts filled my mind as I drove to his house. Could he be dying? Perhaps he wanted to let me in on some hidden wealth of his? I
3rd person PovRomeo slammed his hands hard on the desk, causing Silas, who is at the other end of the desk to jolt in fear.
