ログインClara's Pov "Boss, someone is waiting to see you." My PA informed me as I sat behind the desk in my office. "Who is it?""She didn't say and I couldn't see her face either." She replied casually but that sounded so alarming in my ears. I looked up from my computer and paused for a few seconds. "Shr didn't say her name?" I asked again and my PA nodded in confirmation. "Tell her I don't see people with no names and she has to verify her face as well." She nodded and stepped out of my office. As much as I knew I was loved, I was also aware that I was a potential target for a lot of people. And I had enemies even though it didn't seem like that from the outside and flashy cameras. Coupled with the warning I received from the Mafia boss the other week. I had to be extremely careful with the people I let into my space. My PA returned after some minutes, holding her iPad. "She has refused to say her name but she showed her face." I gave a shrug. "How's that going to help anybody?
Author's POVAdrian stayed there minutes after the officer walked out of his office. He felt insulted and dismissed without regard. The DPO who handled the case for him was transferred to a different country but while the new officer resumed work, he made sure to pay him a visit and explain the case to him which the officer seemed to be updated about and assured him everything was under control and was going to be handled the way the previous officer would handle it. But hearing the words from his mouth now, Adrian didn't know what to think. Something about the way the officer dismissed the issue made him suspect something was wrong somewhere. Even if he had to empty the cells for murderers, he could have left the option open to put her back in jail if they had more space. But he closed the case instead. He wasn't there when they found the body everyone thought was his wife. They weren't there when Elena confessed to what she did; conniving with his uncle to demoralize him. Adri
AdrianInstead of going to a corner with Elena to hear what she had to say, I called Clem aside. "What's the meaning of this?" I whispered but the stress in my voice was palpable. Clem shook her head and made a "I don't know" gesture with her hands and shoulders, cocking her head to the side. I exhaled, placing my hands on both sides of my waist. This was very wrong. Elena wasn't supposed to be out for the next six years yet she walked freely to my company and no police accompanied her. They didn't come looking for a missing prisoner either. I brought out my phone to call the DPO who answered more calm than I expected. "Do you have any idea what's going on here?" I asked, my voice was unable to hide the displeasure I felt. "Over there? No. The only place I'm required to have info about is the police station." He replied, his calm tone icked me. "Well, maybe you should know about a prisoner who is roaming free and even visiting old acquaintances like it's the normal thing to d
Adrian"She doesn't want me around anymore and I don't think I want to push it." I told the old man when I went to visit them. He'd encouraged me to go for her with everything I had and I did. I almost got her friendship back but she didn't like that. She didn't want me close to her. "Are you sure that's what you want to do?" He asked. "I'm certain." "You can do whatever you want if you're okay with it." He replied simply. I felt relieved he didn't try to persuade me. While speaking with Clara, I noticed she was trying to push me away. She was scared of something that she didn't want to talk about so I decided not to push further and let her do what she wanted. "Thank you." I greeted and turned around to leave when I remembered something that happened that I hadn't told him yet. "There is one more thing." I tilted my head. "Silas came to see me last week." The old man's face barely had an expression but his eyes, there was a glint of something in his eyes I couldn't read. He
Author's PovJulian's words wasn't supposed to get to Clara but it did and she started to think too deeply about what he'd told her. She remembered how she constantly had to fight for a place in her husband's life because of the same lady who'd been released from prison. Now that she was out, what next? Adrian would give into her and things would go back to the way they used to be. That wasn't supposed to be a problem but she was scared she'd fallen for him and what happened back then would repeat itself again. Before Adrian and Leo returned that evening, her mind was already made up. She was going to chase him away for good. After hours of fun, they were finally back and they seemed happy and pumped as always. Clara felt a bit sad she was going to spoil the fun. "Leo sweetheart, can you go to your room? I'll join you there." Leo ran up the stairs and she faced Adrian who had no clue what she was about to do. "We need to talk." She started, walking to a corner. "Is anything th
Clara I kept to my word. The next weekend we had a date. Leo was ready before he got to the house and he was happy to see Adrian. He'd remembered him from the pack and he ran to embrace him. I watched from the door and tried to hide my expression. But it slipped and he saw the smile on my face at my son's reaction towards him. "Are you sure you're not going to come with us?" Adrian asked me, gesturing to the gate. "It's going to be fun I promise." He added when I was reluctant. "Come with us mom. Let's all have fun together." Leo spoke this time, charged beyond the usual. I hesitated at first but gave in after giving it some thought: I was going there to look after my son and monitor them. Nothing else. That was what I told myself before I grabbed my bag and followed them. "Where would you like to visit?" Adrian asked. It felt strange. The only place we went together were family functions and most of the time, we didn't go in the same car because he always had an en
Clara"You lying bitch." Silas continued, his voice was low and he held my gaze like he was trying to make me believe that I pushed him. I shook my head. "I'm never going to forgive you for hurting him." Adrian shifted his gaze from me to his uncle. They all knew how close I was to the old man. I'
3rd person Pov"Girl, have you seen the latest news?" Elena's phone buzzed with a message from her friend, Eva. Elena: What news? Eva: No way! You haven't seen the recent post by pulse media? Elena: Duh, I've been on a date for the past two days, the date was supposed to be us bonding, away from
Adrian povI drove to the old man's house wondering why he had called to see me at night. Elena insisted she was coming along with me and I couldn't say no. Different thoughts filled my mind as I drove to his house. Could he be dying? Perhaps he wanted to let me in on some hidden wealth of his? I
ClaraHe leaned closer until I felt his breath on my face. It still had alcohol in it and ash. "You don't know anything about me." I was certain he wanted to say more than that but he held back, slid his hands into his pockets and drew a long breath. "Besides, I never got the chance to meet you,
