"You heard me Lauren, give the shoes to Tessa and get another one. From her expression, she clearly wants them and I do not want you fighting with a woman over some pair of heels." I told Lauren sternly.

I could tell from her expression that she was very angry. Slowly and reluctantly, she dropped the other leg of the shoe and Tessa picked it up with a smile.

"You can have them." Lauren told her begrudgingly.

Tessa disengaged her hand from mine and walked closer to Lauren and whispered something inaudible to her ears. I did not hear what she said but from the look of Lauren's face, I could tell that Tessa did not say a very nice words to her.

Her expression changed and her frowned thickened but then, she turned to look at Tessa and smiled lightly.

"Thank you for letting me know." Lauren acknowledged.

It was not my intention to take sides with Tessa but I did what I did because of my own reasons. I did not want Lauren to fight over a pair of shoes when I can try and get
