Fea let out a gasp and jerked as though she had been struck by lightning.

Her eyes popped open, crazed and bewildered. In an attempt to control her breathing, she gripped her chest.

Daemon held her closely.“Can you hear me, Fea. Fea?” he said, his voice shaking. “Are you doing okay?”

She was shivering. “I…. I believe so,” she muttered in a tremulous voice.

“That thing you said,” Ashton inquired in a cautious low voice. “She’s alive. What was the meaning?”

Fea blinked once more, seemingly reliving the scene in her brain.

At her sides, her fingers were shaking. Slowly she answered. “ I wish I knew. However, something odd is happening.”

Her eyes were filled with unanswered questions as she turned to Daemon. “Is it possible that Ravena is still alive? The wolf I saw in my vision appeared to be hers. I was unwilling to say it. I figured you all would think I was going crazy.”

Unable to conceal the disbelief on his face Ashton scoffed. “That is not possible.”

Frank whispered, “ Is Rav

Alpha Rylan made a little clearing on his big mahogany desk by pushing aside the piles of parchment and leather-bound documents. In sharp contrast to the tension that had been gradually growing between him and Tristan, the air in his study was scented with dust and old paper. The heavy silence that had descended upon them was finally broken by him after he took a long thoughtful breath. Rylan started. “ I know I've always wanted this, Tristan.” His gaze fixed steadily on his Beta, and his voice was firm but calm. “I've always wanted to discover the actual location of Ridgewood to bring them down. It has been an objective and a strong desire for many years. I don't prioritize it anymore. I'm now more focused. I will act in the best interests of the pack rather than to appease a personal grudge.”Tristan's knuckles turned white as he gripped the armrest of his chair. He was speechless. Rylan's words sounded hollow to him almost as if they had betrayed their long-held goal. The oppo

Rylan was at the edge of his seat as his interest was piqued. Maybe he wanted to tell him about the attack.Matteo's eyes drifted off to Tristan, who stood behind Alpha Rylan with his hands clasped behind his back.Rylan noticed the sudden quietness from Matteo and the hesitant gleam that danced in his eyes, betraying his inner conflict.Matteo's eyes reverted to Rylan. "Can I speak to you in private?" He wouldn't want a third party to hear what he has to say."You have nothing to worry about," Rylan said. "Tristan is a loyal friend and my beta. You can speak."Matteo sighed deeply and suddenly his eyes gleamed with sadness. "I lost my brother and my friends in the attack today," he said in a grave tone."I am sorry for your loss," Rylan consoled him.“That's sad. I know how you feel,” Tristan added.Matteo nodded. “Thanks,” he muttered. He felt so bad. He lost his only brother and friends in the attack. He only survived by a thin hair's breadth. And then he became sober. Feeling a su

Tristan's brow furrowed as he leaned closer. "What could that be?" his voice was laced with concern.Alpha Rylan began to pace the length of the waiting room in the clinic while Tristan watched every step he took keenly.Tristan's forehead was creased in deep lines. Waiting anxiously for him to speak. "Alpha, you're not saying anything. You're getting me worried. You can always tell me whatever it is," he pressed on.Rylan stopped pacing and then he let out a deep breath. "It's about Selene," he muttered."Selene?" Tristan's eyes widened in surprise. "I thought you had gotten over her. Come on man, it's been months since her death. And here you are feeling sad.""You don't get it," he said through gritted teeth. "Selene and Alpha Kieran committed an offence. Why was Selene punished and Kieran left alone like he was innocent?"Tristan shrugged. " I don't know." Then he rolled his eyes. "Why are you being so dramatic? Fine, I understand that you do not like Alpha Kieran. I may not have

Alpha Rylan narrowed his eyes to slits. "What do you mean?" He asked, his voice laced with curiosity.Kieran stood abruptly, the chair scraping harshly against the floor. A knowing smirk played on his lips as he exhaled slowly. "I am not the enemy," he said, looking sideways as if expecting someone to appear. "Just make sure you are not fighting the wrong person." With that, he turned and walked away. Leaving a trail of tension in his wake. For a moment he was startled by Kieran's words. He watched intently at the retreating figure of Kieran. He wanted to call him back and demand an explanation because he sounded vague, with no real details. And what does he mean by them being pawns in Vulcan's twisted games? The more he tried to understand the situation, the more confused he became, as if he were lost in a maze, trying to come out.The large hall was empty. He sank back into his chair trying to piece the puzzle together. Was Vulcan saying the whole truth about Selene? But he saw the

The room was gripped in silence as none of them could dare challenge him further. Vulcan was a dangerous man who shouldn't be questioned.Rylan knew it was a futile attempt to object to his orders. All eleven packs were struggling to survive. It's been a hard time for them all. Their resources were dwindling because they spent heavily on acquiring weapons to fight the rogues led by Luna Ravena. They were yet to recover from it A few months ago, when Ravena was still alive, she burned down some of their storehouses, which contributed to their heavy loss.In his pack, he lost prominent warriors to Ravena's attack, and three of their storehouses were burned to the ground. They had to survive by trading with other packs. But he had to say something. " Elder Vulcan," Alpha Rylan stood up. "I understand that you've been of great help to us all over the years. You were able to destroy our common enemy, Luna Ravena. I deeply appreciate your efforts. But what you're asking from us is too mu

Alpha Rylan's eyes burned with anger, and he could not contain the shimmering rage beneath him. He balled his hands into tight fists and slammed them hard on the wooden table. All the Alphas shifted their attention to Rylan, and Vulcan raised an eyebrow almost touching his hairline. The atmosphere in the room became tense and filled with animosity."I know you're a lowlife with no morals," Alpha Rylan hissed. "But the least you could do, Kieran, is to apologize for your lateness."Alpha Kieran's face became a tight frown, and then with a smug expression on his face, he glared at Rylan. "Why are you so worked up? You owe no right to dictate to me!"Rylan felt a surge of rage within him. Instantly, he shot up from his chair, pushing it backward forcefully which made a scratching sound on the cold floor. He pointed his index finger at him, his eyes flashing in anger. "You bastard. If it were left for me, you wouldn't be allowed in here after everything you did to Selene!"Kieran sprang
