Controlling the Dark Stone

Elysia,

The moment the figure stepped into the moonless clearing, I knew we weren’t alone. Something ancient stirred in the shadows—its hunger palpable, its gaze unseen but heavy on my skin.

I tightened my hold on Hades, but my eyes remained ahead, locked on the figure cloaked in midnight. Around us, the darkness pulsed with unnatural rhythm, and one by one, more emerged—cloaked beings, their hands already crackling with magic.

Wizards. No... sorcerers. Old ones.

They formed a circle, trapping us in a ring of glowing runes etched into the ground. Their faces were hidden beneath deep hoods, but I could feel their magic thrumming like a war drum—primordial, malicious.

The sky was darker than we remembered.. The lightning was displaying like a hired actor in the distance.

Hades bared his fangs, his eyes glowing crimson with fury as his wings spread wide behind him. The air turned colder with every breath he took, shadows rippling outward from his feet.

“We’re surrounded,” I muttered, st

I was stunned when he said it.His voice had been quiet, almost hesitant, but the weight of his words struck me like a storm breaking over calm waters. He knew. He knew about my second chance at life. That impossible secret I had buried deep inside me, locked beneath layers of silence and fear—he had just spoken it aloud like it was nothing. Like it was normal. Like it didn’t change everything.I wanted to ask how. I wanted to understand. But I couldn’t focus on him anymore.Because the Dark Stone was pulsing in my hand.A deep, thrumming beat—slow and relentless. It wasn’t just a stone. It felt alive. And with every passing second, it dug deeper, pressing its will into my skin, into my blood, until I could feel it crawling through my veins like smoke made of shadow. It whispered to me."Power. Corruption. Madness."The words slithered through my thoughts like snakes, coiling tightly around the parts of me I didn’t want to acknowledge—the anger, the grief, the desperation. It knew who

"My father said…" The leader of the Wizards stood tall, his pale face tilted upward with arrogance, as though the world itself were beneath his feet. His voice echoed with a tone that sliced through the tension in the air, sharp and unsettling. "Witches are the hunters of Wolves and Vampires. The most thrilling moment of a wizard’s life is to make a stew from their blood… and drink them." He chuckled, a slow, rotten sound that sent a ripple of discomfort across our group. His sunken eyes scanned us, predatory and gleaming with amusement. "But those who dare to be arrogant," he paused, dragging each word like a blade across flesh, "should be bestowed with cruel, harsh deaths. Including…" He stepped forward, and that’s when we noticed the limp. A wooden cane revealed itself from beneath his flowing black robes, the intricate carvings glowing faintly with runes older than memory. Before I could react, Hades wrapped an arm around my waist and launched us backward with a powerful jump.

My body felt light, like feathers drifting in a slow, timeless dance. I found myself standing barefoot on the soft, cool sand, the wind weaving its invisible fingers through my hair, lifting the strands like whispers. The air carried a faint scent of something sweet — like a meadow far away — and each breath I took was like tasting serenity itself. Everything around me felt still. Frozen in an endless, perfect moment. My heart was... calm. Quiet. Almost unnaturally so. I couldn’t feel pain. I couldn’t feel longing. I couldn’t miss anything or wish for anything. It was just me. Me and this strange, unbroken peace, weaving around my very soul like a lullaby. There were no memories pressing on my chest. No noises tearing through my thoughts. Just pure calmness. And then, through the gentle hum of silence, came a voice — soft, familiar, and warm like a blanket on a cold night."Elysia," it called.I turned without thinking. And there she was.She stood just beside me, her presen

  • THE GAMMA'S DAUGHTER    Returning home

When I woke up, I was already in the human world. Ruby had been staying with my father, Gamma Celeriac, while I recovered. We left the house shortly after my awakening, accompanied by Carlos and Hades. From Carlos, I learned that Jonathan was still the Alpha. I could not hide my disappointment. My father had been waiting for me, he said. But I did not understand. Why wait? Why not simply overthrow Jonathan? Dad could have easily dealt with him.As those thoughts clouded my mind, Hades leaned toward me, breaking my silent brooding."What's with that long face?" he asked, his voice unusually gentle. Sitting inside the private plane, I couldn't seem to pull myself away from the haunting memory of my interaction with the Moon Goddess."Nothing!" I chirped, forcing a smile as I tilted my head to the side. In a desperate attempt to lighten the mood, I teased, "Did you lose weight? Your waistcoat looks loose!" My fingers lightly trailed down his chest, feeling the hard lines of muscle hidde

"I can't believe you have two stones now. Look at you... your hair looks ethereal," Grandma Aurora whispered, brushing her fingers delicately through my hair as if afraid I would vanish at any moment. Her touch was warm, filled with a tenderness I had craved for so long. A soft laugh escaped me as I caught the awe in her shimmering silver eyes. Somehow, even with the world around us changing, she remained my constant.I had been genuinely surprised when they recognized me so quickly after my transformation. Later, I found out Hades had sneakily taken a photo of me and sent it to my father, unable to contain his pride and concern. It seemed while I was away on my mission, bonds had tightened in my absence. Hades and my father… they looked almost like father and son now, sharing an understanding that went deeper than words."Master was worried about you. You should have told everyone," Grandma Aurora began, her voice soft but carrying a hint of reprimand. "But then again... I can't blam

The night of the party arrived faster than I expected.Standing before the full-length mirror, I smoothed my hands over the deep emerald silk of my gown. The dress clung to my figure like liquid velvet, shimmering under the soft lights. A slit ran high along my thigh, and the neckline dipped just enough to hint at daring without losing elegance. Around my neck, the two stones—one gold, one silver—rested, catching the light with every breath I took."You look..." Hades' voice trailed off behind me, full of wonder and something much heavier, much deeper.I turned to find him standing in the doorway, dressed in a black tailored suit that looked like it was made for sin. His dark hair was pushed back, revealing sharp cheekbones and those burning crimson eyes that locked onto me with raw hunger.Despite knowing that Hades would stir some commotion, we decided to go together for the best. We would see what happened. And Hades had been acting so weird. His jealousy was reaching the top. My

"Commander Celeriac! Are you openly declaring your betrayal towards the Pack by choosing the Alpha of our enemy team?"The voice cut through the hall, sharp and composed, commanding attention without a single hint of desperation.I turned slowly, my heels clicking against the polished marble floor, to find her standing there — Former Luna Astoria. She stood atop the grand staircase, her posture regal, wrapped in deep green silk that shimmered under the chandelier light. Her silver hair was pinned in an elaborate braid, every detail of her appearance crafted to project power and poise. Yet beneath the surface, her presence was far more dangerous — cold calculation masked behind a veneer of grace.Astoria’s lips curved into a polite smile, but her eyes, sharp and unyielding, locked onto mine like a hawk sizing up its prey. The hall fell into silence, every eye turning to watch. She hadn't spoken out of anger. This was no reckless confrontation. It was a performance — precise, deliberate

Hades, The night air was quiet as we stepped into the manor, but the stillness did little to soothe the storm brewing within me. Elysia walked beside me, her expression unreadable yet beautiful in the low candlelight. She hadn’t said much since we left the ballroom, but her silence wasn’t emptiness—it was concentration. Her mind worked like mine. Both of us were thinking of the Book Knowledge and the parts we had recovered. We reached the chamber where the pieces were laid out—ten fragments of ancient parchment, each humming with a soft, otherworldly pulse. Elysia closed the door behind us and stepped into the circle they formed.“Tonight,” she said, her voice quiet but firm, “we find out what they were hiding.”I nodded once. “Are you ready?”She glanced at me, her eyes a reflection of fire and shadows. “Always.”Together, we began the invocation. The symbols etched into the floor around the parchment glowed faintly as Elysia spoke in the old tongue, her voice a melody lost to time.

Carolina, The lights of the grand manor flickered like a dying flame as I stepped through the threshold, uninvited, unseen for years, but never forgotten. My heels echoed against the marble floors, the sharp rhythm slicing through the silence like a blade. I knew where he would be—where he always ended up when the world became too much for him. Drowning himself in whiskey, in bodies, in power. And tonight, I would be the ocean that pulled him under. Jonathan Hornet. Who tossed me aside once he met Elysia. He promised me that he would make me his Luna. He used me , my family and friends to get favor from them. But once I was no more useful, he forgot my existence. He used to say my name like it was a prayer. Now, it would taste like poison on his lips. I stood at the door of his private chambe, the guards already dismissed or unconscious with liquor and bribes. They had grown careless, just like him. Inside, I could hear muffled laughter, moans, the sound of ice clinking in a gl

Jonathan, The memory of her voice echoed in my skull like a mocking bell. " I am already marked, can't Alpha Jonathan sense it? Or you don't have that ability!" Those words—those sharp, venom-laced words—had silenced the entire ballroom. Every eye turned toward me, not with admiration, not with fear, but with barely concealed pity. As if I were a dethroned monarch, stripped and paraded before the wolves I once commanded. She made a fool of me. She knew that I wasn't blessed. She knew that I was only an Alpha in name and she mocked me in front of everyone. That bitch... She was supposed to kneel down, spread her legs and carry my heir. She was supposed to be my perfect slave. But instead, she threw herself onto that bastard. How dare she!!! I clenched my jaw as I stared at the broken glass on the floor. I had crushed it in my hand without realizing, shards still embedded in my palm. Blood trickled between my fingers, but the pain was nothing compared to the searing rage in m

The sky had turned a soft gray, painted with streaks of peach as the sun began its descent behind the lake. The gentle rustling of wind through the trees whispered against the glass walls of the penthouse, and the koi pond shimmered with scattered reflections of the dying light. Hades lay beside me, his arm slung protectively across my waist, the remnants of our shared warmth still lingering on our skin. My fingers trailed along his collarbone, tracing the faint lines of old battles that lived quietly on his body. He looked peaceful—more peaceful than I had seen him in a long time. His dark lashes rested against his cheeks, his expression soft in sleep, like a child who had found momentary safety. But I knew what lay ahead. I had to return to my pack, to my father, and to the mess Jonathan had created in my absence. And I had to do it without Hades.I couldn't tell him that I was ordered to be executed... If he knew that this had been happening behind his back, he would kill Jonat

  • THE GAMMA'S DAUGHTER    The origin of Ruby's name

" I want to have a baby after everything settles down!" I whispered in his arms. The soft rustle of leaves outside the open window carried the scent of night-blooming jasmine, folding into the air between us like an unspoken promise. The moonlight filtered through sheer curtains, casting gentle shadows over Hades’s features. He looked so peaceful, so human, so mine in that moment that my heart clenched in a way I hadn’t expected. His hand caressed my waist, firm and warm, anchoring me to the present. “Do you mean it?” he asked after a long moment, voice quiet, hesitant, almost boyish in its vulnerability. “About the baby?” I nodded without hesitation, brushing a stray strand of hair from his forehead. “I do. With every piece of me. I have forgotten about those nonexistent past. But now I am here with you, with Ruby and my father, I want to be happy and have my own family. A proper family!” He exhaled slowly and pulled me closer, pressing my hand to his chest where I could feel

  • THE GAMMA'S DAUGHTER    Making up

I hadn't told Hades about the verdict that Jonathan announced. I knew the man lacked spine, but behind him, it was Luna Astoria who was clearly pulling the strings. Her influence had grown insidiously, and now it was starting to threaten everything I had built—everything I had bled for. But as much as I wanted to face that battle, today wasn’t about the pack or the politics.Today was about the strain in my relationship with Hades. That silent tension that hummed in the air whenever our eyes met but neither of us spoke the words buried beneath the surface. He didn’t want to talk about the past. And I didn’t want to force it out of him. But I also couldn’t let this chasm grow wider. We had already lost too much in our previous life. I wouldn’t let silence steal what we still had left. After lunch with his parents—an unexpectedly warm and light-hearted affair—I excused myself and made my way toward the penthouse he had built near the lakeside. Hades had once called it his place of solit

The Wraithborn Pack had not changed much over, though I saw it now with different eyes. Its stone walls still stood tall, carved with ancient symbols of power and legacy, but the air was different. It wasn’t suffocating as it once had been—not bitter, nor judging. It had been still cheerful and peaceful. Despite having some uneasy feeling, related to that night, I started feeling close to the Pack. Maybe I was marked by the Alpha of the Pack. The sense of longing wasn't frail. I walked along the marble path, hands clasped behind my back. The garden was awake with life. Roses bloomed red like secrets kept too long, and silver ivy curled against the wrought iron arches. I hadn't talked to Hades about the conflict between us. He left soon after we spent some time together. He was really busy with handling everything that he left unfinished when we went to the human world. My Man is really hardworking. "Elysia."The voice was familiar, but it lacked the pride I once associated with h

  • THE GAMMA'S DAUGHTER    Perverted thoughts

Elysia,In my previous life perceptive, Hades and I were sworn enemies who were ready to kill. However, after learning the truth about his nature, it was clear that my Blood sword wasn't enough to kill him. And even if he killed me out of spite, it was completely understandable and acceptable. He wasn't nothing to me in my previous life. It was me who killed him, and I had no rights to hold such a grudge. But I felt so heartbroken after remembering the child I raised inside me. I knew that he had his reasons, but I started grieving for the baby that would never exist in this life. The ache was quiet, nestled somewhere deep, but it was persistent—like the residue of a love song that never finished."Elysia!"Dad's voice brought me back to the house. Hades left soon after I fell asleep... Or I pretended to fall asleep last night. He apologized precisely, thinking I was sleeping. But I couldn't, because my emotions were rollercoasters—too steep, too fast. I was torn between anger, confus

The silence weighed heavy in the room. My chest rose and fell with shallow breaths as I knelt beside the bed, head lowered, fists clenched. The storm inside my head refused to calm. She didn't even get the chance to see who stabbed her from behind. Our target was to destroy her heart. Serene said once her heart would be corrupted, we wouldn't be able to stop her. So we did what we were supposed to do.Or so I thought. The guilt hollowed me from the inside. It wrapped around my ribs like a serpent, squeezing, choking, taunting me with her soft breaths that lingered behind me.She was alive. She was breathing. But she wouldn’t be when the truth surfaced. And yet I couldn’t tear myself away.I stayed there, frozen, as each second dragged like an eternity. My vision blurred. The pain of it—what we did,
