ELIOT’S POV

“Is she running a fever?”

“Eliot,” A tap on my shoulders. Making me turn around for a bit, mom’s face appearing. “Is she running a fever?”

A fever?

I quickly touched her forehead, feeling the temperature there. “No.” I mumbled, “No, she’s okay. She’s fine.”

“Then why do you keep checking her?”

What?

“You keep feeling her body and adjusting the covers like she’s burning up.” I paused. Noticing she was right and I was well over her on the bed.

I pulled back just then, sighing. “Just making sure she’s good, mom.”

“She will be good, she’s just sleeping not dead.” She chuckled lightly, shaking her head as she settled beside me. My stare on her, unbelievable. “Think now’s the time to joke about that?” I asked,

“No,” she agreed, “It’s not, and will never be. But it is the time for you to tell me what exactly happened with you two. Three, Elias included. You all just rushed into the house bloody and shirtless like you went for a dive at a wrestling house. And why was Rena out cold

SERENA’S POV“Breaking News! Following an anonymous financial irregularity report, an investigation was launched against MackWell Holdings and Foundation— one of the top 10 celebrated conglomerates in the city. And it was found guilty of fraud, corruption and a series of falsified reports.”What?I paused. Mug half way to my lips, the sweet scent of heated milk drifting to my nose as I stared in front of me. The Tv screen there, the news and words leaving the news anchor's lips. “According to leaked documents obtained overnight, years of financial manipulation, illegal labor deals, and political bribery was found linked directly to Chairman Victor Mackwell. Even more disturbing—investigators confirm that the Mackwell Family Foundation, long praised for funding women’s shelters and rehabilitation programs, was secretly used to launder money and silence harassment victims within the company. One of those victims, Judith Avery, died under suspicious circumstances. Her recovered diary

Eliot's POV Gone?"What do you mean gone? She's gone where?" I questioned, staring at the one that uttered the words. Her gaze skeptical as she stepped forward."Well, Madam came down this morning and went out without breakfast.""Breakfast? Then maybe she went to work." I said, refusing to think any further. "S-she probably went there to see if things were... good I guess. She went to work.""But sir, she asked us to move out her stuff." The staff pressed, staring back at me. "This is all hers sir. They're moving it out. It looks like... She's moving out."What?No. No.Why would she do that? Why would she move her things from the bedroom and just... Move out ??My eyes followed the packed boxes. Noting two familiar luggage ones amongst them, "I saw that yesterday," I muttered, moving immediately to them. My hands holding them like I had done last night before going into the study and seeing her on the floor. "This is hers. They're both... All of these here belongs to her?" I turn

ELIOT’S POV“El,”“El…”“Oh God, El!” Her voice trembled, nails digging into my back as I rammed back in. Almost coming undone from hearing her call me that. “El, please. Please!” her head fell back. Lips parted open, thighs wrapped tight around my waist. Ass in the air, taking me in. All of me. Loving and appreciating as I held her neck down, giving her just what she pleaded for.“What do you want?” I teased her, “What do you want, Serena? Say it.”“I…”“Say it. I want to hear it.”“I want… ohhh, I want…I’m close!” She clenched even more, her insides sucking me in like fucking electricity. Shooting throughout my veins immense blood-flow and pleasure that just seemed to drive me nuts more and more as I watched her go crazy again. The third orgasm from this deliciously unforgettable moment we were having!“Fuck. Fuck!” I groaned out, not holding back either as I gave her my all. Holding tighter behind her neck, my hand on her left thigh as we rolled it all out. Everything.“Eliot… Oh G

SERENA'S POV“You can't fix anything!” I spat, pushing at his arms. “There's nothing left to fix here. That diary's ruined. I’m ruined. Because of you.”“I’m sorry.” he said, “I'm so sorry for not knowing, not protecting you better. I'm sorry. Serena I’m sorry.”“Stop saying that!” I fought harder, fresh tears falling. “Just let go of me. Let go. Get off me, Eliot! Get off me!”“I’ll be better! I’ll be better now, Serena. I won't let them hurt you anymore, I won’t let anyone hurt you! I won't hurt you.”“I don’t care! Let go.”“I won't have people follow you about.” he held me, voice cracking. “I won't print out your blogs anymore. I won't read the diary… I only did all of that because… because I couldn't stop thinking about you! Everyday, you're in my thoughts, my mind! I think of you everyday, Serena. That's why… that’s why I wanted a divorce. That’s why I let it happen, I don’t hate you please. I didn’t really want a divorce, I don’t want it anymore. I don't hate you, please. I've

SERENA'S POV "You're the only woman I've been with." He repeated. His voice a whisper, soft. Leaving me stunned as I stared up at him. "May is not pregnant. Not with my child, and she can never be pregnant with my child. No woman can be pregnant with my child if not you."Okay hold on. Just… what? "What are you…What are you trying to do here?” I asked, baffled. “What are you saying? You're the one who brought that woman here, saying she’s your mistress and pregnant with your child. You wanted to do right by them and divorce me.""I said that," he confirmed, shaking his head. "I said all of that, but I also said it wasn't true. To the press. I told everyone out there the truth. We have no relationship, Serena. I have no relationship whatever with May. She’s the daughter of your father. A Mackwell, and that’s the truth."“No it’s not. It’s not true, you only said that because-“None of what you think is true, Serena!” he snapped, “None of that is true. I didn’t do anything because of

SERENA’S POV“What are these papers?” I pushed them to his chest. Watching as he caught them clumsily, some falling back to the floor. His brows furrowing, “Those ones over there too,” I added, pointing to the wall. “On your desk… What are they? What are you doing with them? Why are they scattered all over the place? What are they doing in here, Eliot? What?!”He froze for a bit. “Serena—“Don’t say my name,” I warned, shaking. Too angry to even look at him! “Don’t you dare say my name, you creep! Tell me, why is that red notepad is on your desk? My diary, why do you have it? Why is it all torn up, almost ripped apart on your desk. Why? What are you doing with it? What are you using it for? What are you planning? You have an entire wall filled with printed copies, Eliot. Copies of my… of my blog post.”My voice shook at the end, a big lump in my throat. Fingers trembling as I looked around. “This place, this entire study is like some murderer’s lair. You have an entire murder map on yo
