SERENA’S POV

“You don’t want any alimony?”

“Yes, I’m sure.” I responded, “I’ve… I’ve held on to that money for the longest time. Consciously or unconsciously. It has shaped the greater half of my life; I don’t want it anymore. Besides, I think I make enough to at least feed myself for now. I’ll be fine.”

“You’re really sure about this?” his eyes silently pressured then, probing to see if I was just calling bluff cause Eliot’s assets were huge. A real payout day I would have if I did take alimony.

That look of his. That skeptical ‘what the hell is she talking about’ look, was exactly the same as this interviewer right now. The one sitting across from me, trying to process my answer to the question he just asked.

“Err, forgive me, Serena.” He smiled, “I- did you just say being married to Eliot Beckett, your husband is a disadvantage to you?”

“Yes of course,” I laughed, staring back at him. “Being married to Eliot is a disadvantage. The biggest one there is, else you wouldn’t ask me

  • THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself    CHAPTER 143

ELIOT’S POV“You look like fun.” he smirked, amused. “Trust you’ll be alright. I'll take her now don’t worry.”Don’t worry? I shouldn’t worry, while you’re referring to my wife? My woman. And where the hell was he taking her? Home. What home? Where? It had better not be what I think it is. It had better not be.Reason why as their car rode off, “Let’s go.” I turned to Elias on my right. Heading for the car with only one thought in mind; Follow them.It was one thing to act so audacious in front of my face, but it was another to house the one woman that everyone knew was mine! If Axel really did that, then he was asking for a visit. A real good visit, and I’d been feeling the need to pay some persons visitations recently.“Boss,” Elias said as we got in, “The warden called. Mackwell been trying to work a few things at the back.”Victor? He wanted to pull one of his tricks and escape jail time? No way was that happening. Not after the wicked stunt he pulled. Letting those piece of shit

  • THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself    Chapter 142

SERENA'S POV OhhhhWas all I could sigh the moment our lips met. A terribly deep sense of peace and longing consuming me whole. Forcing me to pull him down even more to myself. My hands pressing hard on his collar, fisting and dragging that mouth against mine. And he responded.Dropping his neck easily, meshing into me. His hands travelling from my cheeks to my neck and then to my hair. Fisting it immediately and forcing me to be more open for him. My lips parting as he came down properly on me, this time more intense. Deep, rough. My body shuddered at the intensity, every cell in me coming alive. Rising like they had all been called upon from the grave, and it only grew worse. Before I knew it, my back hit the wall, the door frame there, the door ajar but that wasn't the main point. Main point here was my core squeezing crazily with need as slashed open on the door frame. Parting like cake and getting further pressed down by his weight on me. All entire body aching with need. His

SERENA'S POV "E-Eliot?"He stared at me, features dark. Surprised but not so surprised. "So this is where you've been?"What?"All this time... This is where you've stayed? In this house, with my mom... and I searched everywhere for you."Oh, he was referring to me staying here after leaving the house. But how did he know to come here right now?"Serena," he stepped closer. "Let's talk. We need to talk, I need to explain and-"No." I breathed, halting his steps. "No talking. I don't want to talk. Goodbye." I pushed the door close then. Aiming to shut him out, same way I'd opened up to him. Then I'd head back upstairs like nothing happened. Like he didn't show up out of the blue after what just happened to me on my bed.But that didn't work.Just before the door jammed shut, his foot stopped it. Gray eyes quick to understand what I had in mind without me speaking at all. "Serena, you-I pushed on the door then, not letting him speak. Pressing my body against it, putting pressure. Him

  • THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself    Chapter 140

SERENA'S POV The rest of the morning flew by after that. Axel and I basically catching up, first about everything that had happened over here, then about him. Laughing and making jokes at the absolute ridiculous things he mentioned happened on his little 'trip'.His usual self really, and I was grateful. No longer did he have that gloomy or silent hate look, even if I asked for it by wanting answers in the first place. Honestly, after that conversation in his car, don't think I want to know anything anymore. I don't want to hear of it, be it about my family or Eliot or any of the shady things surrounding him. I wanted to know nothing, think nothing and pretend they didn't happen at all. Focus on my fresh start and nothing else. But all of that, imagine what happened the moment I laid down to rest?"Take it,""Take all of it," he whispered, eyes half lidded. Lost, his hands deep in my hair. Holding me in place. "Don't stop sucking, Serena. Don't stop ..."And I didn't. Taking pleasur

SERENA’S POV“M-married?” I stammered, stunned. “You were married? To Who? Who were you marri- when??”He heaved a breath, hands on the wheels as we passed a traffic light. “Her name is Belinda, and we… we kind of got involved a while back. Before your wedding. She’s a reporter.”“A reporter." I blinked, "I thought you hated reporters, but you married one? YOU are married, Axel?” “Was." He corrected, "Was married, until about half an hour ago.”“Oh my God.” I whispered, dressing back on my seat. “Oh my God. Wh- and you didn't tell me? You got married and didn’t tell me, Axel."I couldn't believe it. "All these while you... Wait you got together before my wedding?" I faced him again, "That is before you even ghosted me right? for 4 years. You got married before then and yet you didn't think to tell me? Me? Why?!"“I didn’t want to bother you."“Bother me?" I blew hot, stunned. "You didn't want to bother me, your friend. How? I was your friend, Axel. I am still, right now, and- wait, d

  • THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself    CHAPTER 138

SERENA’S POV Eliot’s the devil. The real devil in disguise! How could he and those sleazy lawyers of his twist everything? Saying he was the victim? He was attacked by my father and May, when he, Eliot knew everything from the start and intentionally went along with it just so he could have his way. How does any of that make him out to be the victim? If anything I was the victim here! Me. I was the one so cruelly schemed and calculated by them for several months! Who was to tell they weren’t even in on it from the start, huh? All of them wanted to get rid of me somehow! “I didn’t do anything. I didn’t do anything this time, I promise Serena!” he said eagerly, like I was stupid. Like I was born yesterday and could not see his works in everything that had happened. “Let’s talk. We can talk this out.” I almost laughed at that. Laughed in his face while the judge that should’ve ruled in my favour left us standing in the hall. So much for thinking I would be free today. So much for co
