LOGINSERENA'S POV
"I could be. You don't know that.""Oh hell I do." I smirked, "I most definitely do. No mistakes about that Blondie."His breath hitched, offended but amused. "Blondie? Why do you keep calling me? Where did that come from?""I've always called you that. You're just noticing?""I am,""Then you better go purchase that ear cleaning device your assistant recommended to you."He laughed, hard. Not expecting my words, his head tilting back, blue eyes twinkling."You're teasing me now? You're joining them to 'drag' my ears?"I shrugged, trying not to laugh but failing. "You're the one who complained about not hearing properly. This now proofs it, so... Yeah.""What?" He leaned forward, hands reaching for me. Wanting to pinch at my skin like he usually did, but I only leaned backwards. Escaping him, our laughter filling the air. "You'reAXEL’S POVI didn’t exactly understand what was displayed on her screen, but it seemed like a writeup. Online. An online write up.A post probably. There was a name above it too. Something about papers… pages… to delete… I don’t know. I should check it out to confirm.“Will probably see it amongst other suggestions.” I muttered, finishing up my glass of water before moving then. Heading back to my desk. The ipad there.“So, pages, papers… Account? Page? A blog?”I got into it either-ways, and went through each of them and every one of them. Following every suggestions and scanning the accounts to confirm if it was the one I saw that day. They weren’t though. All of the ones I saw. I was almost giving up even, until I stumbled on one with multiple comments per post. A seemingly active page too.“PagesI’llDeleteLater. PagesI’llDeleteLat- this is it!”I rejoiced, scrolling down immediately. Tapping on the posts and scanning them for a bit. Only after reading some did I realize something.
Axel's POV Something's on her mind.Something definitely is."You're sure his team hasn't been secretly threatening her or something?" I asked, waiting for his response cause I wouldn't put it past Eliot at all. "Mr. Gomez?""No, no. They haven't, Mr Lane." He said, focusing back on the screen. His glasses getting adjusted. "I'm sure they haven't. Very sure. In fact, no contact any been made concerning the mediation dates. The court ruled for a mediation within the 3 months of probation but so far, his team hasn't reached out in any way. They haven't shown interest. So I'm sure Miss Serena and Mr. Beckett hasn't been in contact at all."They haven't.Hmm.She said so as well. Snapped at me actually when I brought the topic up.Mr Gomez also sounded convincing right now. His words...they were reasonable enough but still. Something didn't feel right. Something wasn't right, she was troubled by something. I know it.I don't understand why she wouldn't tell me about it. Why she would try
SERENA'S POV "What? No way," I shook my head, flabbergasted. "No way. That's... that's impossible. Why will he— why will he do that?"Eliot. My eyes went to the screen again, my breath caught. Pulse heavy now, hands quick to scroll down to read more of the post. It was his most recent one. Had tons of comments accumulating, several of them adding up as I watched the screen but my eyes remained focused on the lines. The words in between..."I'd have to explain how I know that, and I didn't want to. I didn't want to explain why I knew,Or admit how closely I had been paying attention long before I was supposed to be.So I didn’t send it.And convinced myself silence was safer. That’s the pattern, isn’t it?Me choosing silence.Control.Calling it strength. When in reality, it was all fear.Fear of how easily you dismantle me.How much power you have over me without even trying. How small I feel that I want you...I want you."I shuttered, the words sinking in. Raw. "I thought I coul
SERENA'S POV Soon it became dark outside, the cool breeze getting chill. Forcing me back into the house, my room, managing a light dinner while at it cause really, I couldn't starve all day. Even if I had no appetite.Afterwards there was nothing left to do. Besides the obvious that is.Reach for my laptop. The same sleek device I'd been avoiding to begin with. At the end, there was no use running. It had to happen at some point. I had to see them again. Those words, sentences, posts... his posts. And as I did— turned on my laptop, notifications rushed in like rain. Every comment, tags, reposts, filled the air. Welcoming me right back to the disaster I had ran away from.Last time, I was almost knocked off by the sheer intensity of everything. The speculations, reasoning of the commenters and now? I didn't feel any better. My pulse raced with anticipation underneath my skin. My lips pressed in a firm line, quiet. Fingers itching and twitching as I remained seated on my bed. My sof
SERENA'S POV "Please do come again next time, Sir." The maître d’ said with a polite smile to Axel, handing over the freebies he received. Cause apparently, he'd made today's reservation about 2 months ago. Meaning he'd planned this for a long time. That should make me excited or feel good at least, right? But it didn't. How could it? When a certain somebody had abandoned the reason for him being present in this restaurant, instead, focusing all his attention on us. Me and Axel. Practically burning holes into the side of my face from how hard he was glaring. He didn't even bother to hide it. Didn't move from his spot either. Wonder how long he'd been there before I spotted him. But he did look good though. Really good with his hands tucked into his pockets, a phone in hand as he stood in the glass valet call stand, like he owned the entire place. His stare burned hot against my skin, impossible to ignore and making all the more uncomfortable as I stood still. My fingers
