Do me a favor

"Good morning, Gena! To what do I owe this morning coffee you have invited me to," Luciano said as he took up his hand and called over the waiter.

"What can I get you, sir?" The waiter asked.

"A cup of coffee, and same for my lady, I guess?" he said on my behalf.

"Just water, thanks," I told the waiter and he nodded and went away to get our order, thereby giving us both a chance to speak with each other.

"Luciano, I came to ask you for a favor," I opened up.

"What kind of favor? Do I have to kill someone for you?" He teased in the most barbaric manner. Why would I tell him to kill someone for me? Am I a monster?

"On the contrary, I don't want to marry you," I spilled.

"I'm sorry?" He looked confused.

"Yeah! I don't want to marry you, Luciano," I didn't stammer while telling him.

"Oh!" The waiter returned with a glass of water for me and a cup of coffee for Luciano.

"May I know the reason why you don't want to marry me?" He asked immediately after the waiter left our table.

“As much as I do not want to tell the reasons, I would risk it all. Afterall, you might be the only person who can help me convince Dad about my decision. Actually, I am in love with someone else," I revealed. I took my glass of water and drank a little.

"You're in love? With whom, please?" He pulled his chair closer, "Is he a werewolf? An alpha like me? Beta? Or human?" Luciano hit the nail on the right wall. However, when I couldn't say anything, he immediately understood my silence.

"Oh shit! He is human, right?" He put his hand on his face, stunned.

"Yeah! He is human, so what?" I reacted angrily even though I came to ask for help.

Luciano laughed and asked, "Does your dad know?"

"No! And that's why I'm here asking for your help." I drank the water again, almost finishing it.

"Okay, I hear you, Gena. However, for me to help you, you will have to do something for me," Luciano said, giving me a condition.

"What do you want?" I allowed him to speak.

"Nothing much. It's just that, I'd like to see this love you just spoke about," he grinned, "Invite him to stay with you for a month, and if I see that you both truly love each other, then I'll convince your dad to have you both married, and if not, you'll get married to me and you won't ever object to it, deal?" He said as he took out his hand to shake me.

"Do I want to do this with him? What if I fail? What if I don't really love Alex and I get to see that?" I thought to myself.

"Gena? Deal!" He pushed.

"Yeah, it's a deal. And get ready to see me marry someone else," l shook his hand and said with the utmost confidence.

"We will see, Gena. Don't be faster than your shadow," Luciano said.

He paid for the coffee and my water before leaving the shop. This wasn't what I had thought, but it was better than nothing. I would have to bring Alex over and make sure he doesn't get discovered to be a human by Dad.

I went home, and everyone there was busy cleaning the mansion because of the party that dad threw the night before. The nanny was also there, not cleaning, but supervising. Sophia was by her side with a serious expression on her face.

I went straight into my bathroom to shower and change, and as soon as I came outside of the bathroom, to my surprise, I saw the nanny holding my phone, and reading something from it.

"Hey! Haven't you heard about privacy?" I took my phone away.

"Really?" She raised her brows, "When were you going to tell me that you have a boyfriend who is human?!" she said as she gave out my secret.

I closed the door. I opened my phone and I saw that the picture on my screen had given me away. Of course, if Nanny could figure it out, why wouldn't Dad too?

"Nanny? I can explain," I said.

"Please do, and while you explain, I hope you haven't forgotten how much your dad hates humans," she made me remember.

"Nanny! Please, you don't understand, I love Alex and I don't wish to give him up, not at all," I stomped on the ground.

"Wow!" Nanny looked at me, disappointed. She left my room and did not even utter another word to me.

Why was she angry? I didn't do anything wrong? And when did expressing love for someone become taboo? I didn't just understand her reaction.

That same evening, I tried to speak with Nanny, yet she wasn't in any way willing to say a word to me. Regardless of my plea, she didn't even care to say something, like she always did.

I went to see Dad in his study room. The night before, he made a promise to do anything that I asked of him, and without any complaints. What other right time was there to request something that huge? Like getting permission to bring Alex over?

Yes! Dad wasn't going to know about Alex, and I hoped that Luciano fulfilled his end of the bargain.

"Daddy!" I called with a mild tone. "Yes dear, what happened?" The book in Dad's hand moved away from his eyes, as he looked at me.

"Daddy, remember when we spoke last night and you promised to do anything I asked if I came back to the party and also spoke with Luciano?" I reminded him of our conversation.

Dad seemed to have not forgotten. "I remember baby, tell me," he removed his glasses and asked, "What do you want my dear," leaving room for my response.

I went to his table, put my hand on it, and gathered the courage to speak.

"Dad, I would like to invite a friend over to stay for a month," I said.

"What friend? Male or female? Human or someone just like us?" The expression on Dad's face dwindled.

As much as I would want to tell the truth. I just couldn't do it.

"Dad, he is a good friend, and also a werewolf, just like us," I lied, looking straight into the eyes of my father.

"Oh! Okay then, invite him over, no worries," he allowed, as he picked up his book and began reading again. I was so happy that Dad agreed.

Alex was to come over the next day, and I hoped that during his stay, our secret wouldn't be exposed. I also didn't trust Luciano.

What if he had no intention of helping me out with my dilemma?
