By the time I arrived at the hockey training center I was already feeling better. The morning had been a little chaotic thanks to Tyler and Samantha. I stared at the notification on my phone for a moment before opening it. It was Cameron. I wasn’t expecting to hear from him that night, and the last thing I had been thinking about before going to sleep was actually him seeing the picture I had posted with Lily. I had hoped he would notice it, but I hadn’t expected him to message me directly.I opened the message. Cameron: Are you really dating Lily? I smiled, because this was exactly what we wanted. She turned around. "What?" I walked over to the closet and pulled out one of my hockey shirts. It was one of my Northlake hockey shirts with my number printed on the back. I held it out to her. "You'll need this tomorrow." She stared at the shirt. "For practice?" "Yeah." She looked at me as if I had just said something completely ridiculous. "Really?" I nodded. "Yeah." She took the shirt from me and looked at the number on the back. "You actually want me to wear this?" "Of course." "Why?" I gave her a look. "You're my girlfriend. Remember?" She immediately corrected me. "Fake girlfriend." "Yes. Sure." I tried to sound casual but I couldn't help smiling.She folded the shirt over her arm. "Okay. I'll wear it." "Good." She moved toward the door again. I followed her out of my room. We were almost at the entrance when I noticed someone walking down the hallway outside my room . The whole situation with Samantha had been ridiculous, but at least Lily and I had managed to turn it into something we could laugh about. I didn't want to spend the rest of the day thinking about whether people believed we were dating.
