LYSARA

I step out of the shopping mall with a bag full of everything that Jessica wanted me to get for her. Most of them are things she already has, things I got for her not up to two weeks ago. But because she's dedicated to making my life miserable, she just couldn't help herself.

She's going to be pissed. I didn't obey her impossible demands and got the shopping done in ten minutes like she asked, but guess who doesn't care?

That's right, me.

I adjust my grip on the bags and make my way

LYSARA “So let me get this straight," Asher says as we make our way out of the lecture hall. “You are to begin training with your powers today?" “Yup." I reply popping the “P" “And your teachers are going to be the Ashcroft brothers? Your supposed mates?" “Yup, again." I stop and turn around , coming face to face with him. “Why are you asking me this all over? I thought I already explained everything to you last night?” He folds his arms and scoffs. " I'm your best friend young lady. I have a right to worry about you. Especially when you are going to start spending too much time than it's actually necessary with the three people I absolutely do not trust.” I sigh and give him a reassuring smile, hoping that'll calm his nerves. “I know that and I do not trust them any more than you do. But desperate times call for desperate measures." “Very well then. Be careful around them. Love ya!" He pulls me into a hug then runs off. I turn on my phone to check the time. It's already two mi

  • THE LAST CELESTIAL WOLF    CHAPTER FOURTEEN: KEEPING HIM SAFE

KIRRIAN I light another stick of cigarette and take a long drag before blowing out the smoke. I'm on the fourth stick of cigarettes and even that doesn't help in calming my nerves. It helps when everyone knows you as the carefree brother who teases everyone and fucks around. That way, people do not really look closely to see if you are okay or not. You are left to die with your problems, which is exactly what I prefer. " You promised you'd stop smoking.” I freeze with the cigarettes halfway to my lips, at the voice I never thought I'd get to hear anytime soon. I turn around and blink to make sure my eyes aren't playing tricks on me. They are definitely not, because standing just a few feet from me is Murray. My Murray! I ache to reach out to him, but rather clench my fists and take in a deep breath. " Why are you here?” I ask, keeping my voice neutral, despite the hurricane of emotions that are going through me right now. No matter how much I want to hold him, no one can find him

  • THE LAST CELESTIAL WOLF    CHAPTER THIRTEEN: THE NOTE ON MY BED

LYSARA Jessica's hand suspends mid air and the entire environment goes silent. Students who have their phones up, taking videos instantly begin to put them away. I don't need to turn around to know who it is. Only one student in Arcadia has that type of power. Kareal Ashcroft. He's not the violent asshole like Kaeren or the sarcastic narcissist like Kirrian. He doesn't need to say much to make his point known. Some students say he's even more violent than Kaeren. Heck, there's even a rumor on campus that says he once killed two students after they put a dead rat in his lunchbox. But then again, they're just rumors. Students at Arcadia are fond of creating those. He walks up to me and pushes me to the side, taking my place and glaring daggers at Jessica. " That's enough, Jessica!” He says, his tone cold as always. " It's time you stop treating her Lysara like she's some slave your father hired to look after you.” " But Kai…" “It's Kareal to you," he interrupts her. The look on

I didn't obey her impossible demands and got the shopping done in ten minutes like she asked, but guess who doesn't care? That's right, me. I adjust my grip on the bags and make my way back to campus. The Silver Crest pack is the closest to the Academy and the mall is just a thirty minutes walk from it, so I decide against taking a car. I don't have that much money to spend, especially when I have a feeling my allowance will be slashed in half, as is the case whenever I make Jessica mad. I haven't heard from Alpha Victor, but I have a feeling I definitely will and it won't be long till that happens. I walk for less than a minute when a feeling of dread washes over me and goo

  • THE LAST CELESTIAL WOLF    CHAPTER ELEVEN: A VISIT FROM THE PAST

HOLDENI stare at the students sauntering out of the lecture hall in groups of two, three, and four. Every one of them is either laughing or chatting happily with a peer. Everyone except for her. I watch as Lysara packs up her books in her bag, rises to her feet and heads for the door. She's always lonely during my lectures because that's one of the courses her friends don't take. " Follow her,” I murmur to Kirrian who's standing beside me. " Keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't get into trouble.” Kirrian snaps his fingers all too enthusiastically. “Roger that, Prof!" He grabs his own backpack and follows after her. When the last student steps out of the class threshold, I pick up my books and make my way out of the lecture halls and to my office. The scent of Jasmine hits me before I can even open the door. "Why exactly are you here?” I ask moving to my desk and taking a seat. She gives me one of her radiant smiles and tilts her head. "Since when did visiting you beco

  • THE LAST CELESTIAL WOLF    CHAPTER TEN: GUESS SOMETHINGS NEVER CHANGE

LYSARA “Ouch!" Asher winces as I clean up his wounds with a piece of cotton. “You could be a bit more gentle, you know?” " Why did you have to accept to duel with Kaeren of all people?” I scold. “You know how reckless he is?" “I overhead him telling Kirrian that he was going to ask you to be his date to bonfire night. I told him I had already asked you and you had agreed.” Of course Asher would do something like that. He's one to get on your last nerves gladly. But what I don't understand is why Kaeren would duel over me being his date. I'd bet my life that Jessica is the first one he will ask. Then again, given his personality, he might just do it to spite me. He's an asshole like that. “Forget about Kaeren. I'd like to know why you're suddenly the hottest gossip at Arcadia? I saw a post about you and it read ‘Wolfless not actually wolfless.’ What's that about?" I must look confused because he fishes out his phone from his bag, fiddles with it for a while and hands it to me. N
