CHAPTER 9 - THE KEEPER’S KIDS

(ANNIE’S POV)

I was glad when I got home and grandma was there.

“In here baby.” She yelled and I knew she was calling from the kitchen. I could perceive the aroma of the food and i moaned as it filled my nostrils. I hurried in to the kitchen and there she was with her back turned towards the door as she set the table for lunch.

“Hey grandma.” I said smiling and I hurried to give her a hug and to kiss her.

She kissed me back.

“I did not see you when I was leaving this morning.” I told her.

“Yes, did you not see the note I kept for you?” She asked with her eyebrow up and then we both looked towards the fridge and saw the stick it note that grandma left.

“I was jumpy when I left.” I admitted to her.

Grandma gave me a sympathetic look. “How did your day at school go?” She asked me softly as she set the dish on the table that had the chicken on it.

“Not good Grandma.” I said and then I recounted the incident that happened with me and the mean girl in the cafeteria today. I left out the p
