~~~ELENA.
“You came to see me so early this morning, did you miss me, your mate that much?”
That was enough to snap me out of the embarrassment or whatever that I was already feeling, and I moved over to him, my hands pointing at him. “Miss you? My mate?!”
“What? Does it sound foreign to you?” He asked, dropping his eyes over my body again.
I crossed my arms over my chest, but it did nothing to hide the fact that the dress was practically see-through in this lighting. His gaze didn’t waver, if anything, it deepened lazily and confidently like he indeed had all the time in the world to watch me feel uneasy.
“What do you want?” I asked him instead, trying to sound normal.
Right now, normal is everything I am not.
He tilted his head slightly, his thumb brushing against his jaw as if he were studying me. “Want?” he echoed. “You make it sound like I need a reason to see my wife.”
My jaw clenched, and my index finger jabbed towards him, “I am not your wife.”
For a heartbeat, silence stretc
  • THE LUNA OF MY DESTRUCTION.   005: MY LUNA.
    ~~~ELENA.I didn’t leave my room after the mating ritual. The moment I stepped back inside, I locked the door and didn’t come out. The mark on my shoulder still burned like a brand, reminding me that no matter how much I denied it, the bond had been sealed again. The whole thing felt unreal, and forced like a cage wrapped in silk.Lying in my bed, I tried to force back the tears burning behind my eyes. I had sworn never to accept the bond again or to bow to him, to this pack, or to the moon goddess that had watched me break the first time. And yet, against my will, Darius had dragged me back here and crowned me the Luna of his pack.He hadn’t cared how the Elders had frowned or whispered in disapproval. Not that he ever would. Darius Thorne was not a man who sought permission, he took what he wanted and made the world adapt to his will. And the Elders, for all their pride and supposed wisdom, didn’t have the spine to challenge him openly. None of them would ever do that.The silence

    ~~~ELENA~~~I didn’t remember falling asleep.All I remembered was staring at the ceiling until the candles exhausted, until my tears dried on my cheeks, and until exhaustion dragged me under despite how hard I fought it.The sound that woke me was the soft click of the door.Then the faint rustle of fabric and then the voices of females so I sat up instantly.Four women slipped into the room, Their movements were synchronized, efficient, and military precise. They wore simple black dresses belted at the waist, and their hair pulled into tight knots. Wolves, every one of them.Before I could speak, the first one bowed her head. “Forgive us, Luna but the Alpha ordered your preparation to begin before moonrise.”Luna.The word hit like a knife.“I’m not your Luna,” I snapped, clutching the sheet around me.The tallest of them with pale-eyes, and broad shoulders stepped closer. “With respect, ma’am, the Alpha’s command is absolute.”Then she nodded to the others.In one swift motion, two
    ~~~ELENA~~~The door slammed shut behind us with a heavy thud that echoed through the hall.The same hall I had once walked through as his fated mate.Now, I was nothing but his captive.I struggled in his arms, my nails clawing at his shirt. “Put me down! I can walk on my own!”“You will run,” he said simply, not even looking at me. “And I am too tired to chase you twice in one day.”He carried me until we reached a corridor that smelled faintly of cedar and roses. My old room.The memories came rushing back. The laughter by the balcony, the night he whispered promises under the moonlight, and the scent of pine on his skin when he kissed me for the first time. I swallowed hard, pushing the memories away.“Open it,” he ordered one of his men and the door swung wide.He stepped inside, dropped me gently on the bed, and straightened up. My eyes roamed the untouched room. “You kept it,” I whispered before I could stop myself.He didn’t answer. He just stood there, watching me with that

  • THE LUNA OF MY DESTRUCTION.   002: UNDER MY ROOF.

    ~~ELENA~~“Don’t you dare touch me!” I screamed, stumbling backward as my voice echoed against the cathedral walls.Darius didn’t move.His men surged forward at a simple flick of his hand, their shadows cutting through the light spilling from the windows.The mafia guards reacted instantly by pulling out their guns and their faces set in fierce defiance. Maybe it was loyalty to their boss or pride, but they stood their ground like fools who didn’t know what kind of monsters they were facing.The first shot never even came because Darius’ men moved too fast. Wolves in human skin and in less than a heartbeat, one of them twisted a guard’s wrist, snapping it clean. Another wrenched the gun from a trembling hand and slammed the butt of it into his jaw.As bodies hit the marble floor, I stood frozen, my pulse screaming in my ears as the last few men hesitated and then turned to run away.Silence swallowed the church and the only sound left was my ragged breathing and his heavy, controlled

  • THE LUNA OF MY DESTRUCTION.   001: THE ALPHA.

    ~~ELENA~~“Our condolences, Mrs. Ivanov,” said the tall man in a black suit, his head bowing slightly as a group of men stood rigid behind him.“The boss… he spoke highly of you,” he added, his tone measured and polite, but his eyes scanned me with an intensity that made my skin crawl… as if he was trying to solve a puzzle that didn't belong to him.Through the black veil that covered my face, I inhaled the sharp, heavy scent of incense mingling with the faint tang of polished wood. My gaze flicked over the men again. Their subtle glances, their fingers brushing the handles of guns tucked at their hips, and their posture that seemed to hum with silent authority.“Thank you,” I finally murmured, bowing just enough to acknowledge them without breaking my composure.One after another, they approached, offering their formal condolences while their eyes lingered, calculating, and probing. I could feel their unspoken questions press against me. Measuring whether I belonged in their world no
