The cheers filled the hall like thunder. Servants clapped, some even teary-eyed, bowing before Ariana as she smiled and held her stomach. “The royal line will continue,” she said proudly, her voice trembling just enough to sound sincere.

My hands went cold. I felt the ground shift beneath me as I stared at her,and then at Elliot.

He was standing beside her, stiff, pale, and utterly silent. His smile, if you could call it that, was a mask. The same man who had once told me, under the pale moonlight, that the Goddess herself forbade conception outside true mates for Silver crest bloodline. That no matter how much he tried, Ariana could never bear his child.

So how…

My vision blurred for a second. I couldn’t breathe.

The other maids were whispering in excitement. “Finally,” one of them gasped. “The Queen will have an heir.”

“Praise the Moon Goddess,” another said.

But between me and Elliot, the air was heavy, silent, tense, almost suffocating. His eyes found mine across the room, just fo

Elliot straightened slowly, blood dripping from his lip, that bitter, dangerous smile still cutting across his face. “So,” he said hoarsely, wiping the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand, “the hero finally arrives.” His tone was sharp, mocking, filled with something that almost sounded like madness.Xavier took a step forward, his fists clenched at his sides, his eyes fixed on Elliot with a calmness that was more frightening than rage. “If you know what’s good for you,” he said evenly, “you’ll walk away right now.”Elliot gave a low, broken laugh, his chest rising and falling with effort. “I know you,” he said, tilting his head slightly. “You were at my wedding. The mysterious Alpha from the faraway pack.” His eyes narrowed, voice dripping with venom. “So it’s you. You’re the one giving her courage. You’re the reason she thinks she can stand up to me now.”“Don’t,” Xavier warned darkly, his tone carrying weight. But Elliot only smiled wider, stepping closer. “Tell me, Xavi

The air crackled when he stepped in. Every breath I took felt heavy, poisoned by fear and memory. Elliot’s men fanned out behind him, but it was his eyes, that cold, furious silver, that pinned me where I stood. “Liora.” My throat closed. “Elliot… please...” “Don’t.” His voice was low, almost shaking. “You don’t get to say my name. Not after what you did.” I swallowed, my heart slamming against my ribs. “You don’t understand.” “Oh, I understand perfectly.” He took a step forward, eyes burning. “You ripped our bond apart. You cut me out like I was nothing. Do you have any idea what that feels like?” I backed away, shaking. “You never wanted me anyway. I just made it easy for you… for the two of you.” Something dark flickered in his eyes, pain, fury, something close to madness. “Don’t you dare.” “It’s the truth!” I shouted, voice cracking. “You were already gone, Elliot. You looked at me like I was a mistake. So I freed you. You should be grateful!” “Grateful?” His voi

My hand trembled as I pushed the door open. “Sienna?” She jumped, the phone slipping from her hand, clattering against the floor. Her eyes went wide, guilt flashing across them, followed by tears. “Liora…” she whispered, voice trembling. My chest tightened. “Who were you talking to?” She shook her head frantically, tears spilling over her cheeks. “I didn’t have a choice. He... he threatened to kill my Travis if I didn’t tell him where you were. I swear, Liora, I didn’t mean to...” “I can’t believe this…” My voice broke, sharp and shaking. “Liora, please… what did you want me to do?” she cried. “He’s the Alpha. I can’t disobey him. Please, you have to understand...” “I have to call Xavier,” I cut in, my hands already trembling as I reached for my phone. “I have to get out of here.” I stormed into my bedroom, shoving my few belongings into a bag. Sienna followed after me, still pleading, her sobs filling the small room. When Xavier picked up, I barely let him speak. “H

For days, I barely left the room. Sleep came in uneven fragments, nightmares tangled with flashes of Elliot’s face and the sound of my own voice breaking as I rejected him. Sometimes I would wake up gasping, drenched in sweat, clawing at my chest like I could tear the bond out myself. But Xavier was always there. He never tried to talk me out of my pain. He didn’t ask questions, didn’t tell me to move on. He just… stayed. Brought food I didn’t eat, tea I barely sipped, blankets when I shivered, space when I needed to cry. He became the quiet constant in a life that had fallen apart. When I finally started sitting up again, he smiled like it was a victory. “That’s progress,” he said softly, setting a tray on the nightstand. “You don’t have to rush it. Healing takes time.” “I don’t even know what healing means anymore,” I muttered, pulling the blanket tighter around me. He sat across from me, elbows on his knees, eyes gentle but steady. “It means choosing to live even when i

I woke up screaming. The sound tore through the room before I even knew it came from me. My chest burned, not the kind of pain that fades with breath, but the kind that claws from the inside, sharp and endless. It felt like something sacred had been ripped out of me. I couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t move. “Liora!” The door burst open. Xavier was there in an instant, rushing to my side, his voice rough with panic. “Hey, hey, what’s happening? What’s wrong?” I tried to speak but only managed a sob. My body convulsed as the remnants of the bond flared and broke again, waves of anguish radiating through every nerve. It wasn’t just physical. It was grief, loss, emptiness. Like my soul had been cracked open. He caught me as I doubled over, my nails digging into his arm. “It hurts...” I gasped. “It hurts so much...” “Shh,” he whispered, pulling me against his chest. “I’ve got you. I’ve got you, Liora.” But the pain kept coming. My wolf howled inside me, a broken, mourning sound that echo

That night, I couldn’t sleep. No matter how long I stared at the ceiling, the weight in my chest wouldn’t lift. My body was safe in Xavier’s guest bed, wrapped in warmth, but my soul still felt trapped, tethered to something that hurt every time I breathed.I turned on my side and shut my eyes, willing myself to drift away. And somehow, I did.But it wasn’t a peaceful sleep. The air felt different when I opened my eyes again.I was standing barefoot in a field of silver light, the same field I had seen once before, in a vision of the prophecy. The moon hung low and full, its glow shimmering like liquid. The night was silent, almost reverent. And there he was. Elliot. His eyes found me through the mist, cold, unreadable, beautiful in that distant, painful way he always was. He looked like the Alpha he was born to be: strong, proud, untouchable. I wanted to turn and run, but my feet wouldn’t move. “Why are you here?” I whispered. He tilted his head slightly, that same mocking calm
