I couldn’t move. My breath caught somewhere in my throat, trapped between disbelief and fear.

Ariana’s smile was soft, too soft to be kind. “You look shocked,” she said, turning fully toward me. Her wedding gown shimmered like frost, each jewel catching the morning light. “But if I wasn’t sure before, I’m sure now.”

My heart thudded painfully. “What… what do you mean?” I managed to say.

She folded her arms, eyes sharp with amusement. “I saw Elliot last night. Coming out of the glass house. And then, a few minutes later, you came out too.” Her voice turned cold. “Both of you looked upset. Tell me, Liora, how long has this been going on?”

I stumbled back, shaking my head. “No... it’s not what you think.”

“Oh, really?” she tilted her head, her smile widening. “What is it then? You bitch! You had the nerve to live under the same roof as me all this time. I must have been blind not to notice. I always knew there was something strange about you.” Her gaze swept over me. “But I thought Ellio

I woke up screaming. The sound tore through the room before I even knew it came from me. My chest burned, not the kind of pain that fades with breath, but the kind that claws from the inside, sharp and endless. It felt like something sacred had been ripped out of me. I couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t move. “Liora!” The door burst open. Xavier was there in an instant, rushing to my side, his voice rough with panic. “Hey, hey, what’s happening? What’s wrong?” I tried to speak but only managed a sob. My body convulsed as the remnants of the bond flared and broke again, waves of anguish radiating through every nerve. It wasn’t just physical. It was grief, loss, emptiness. Like my soul had been cracked open. He caught me as I doubled over, my nails digging into his arm. “It hurts...” I gasped. “It hurts so much...” “Shh,” he whispered, pulling me against his chest. “I’ve got you. I’ve got you, Liora.” But the pain kept coming. My wolf howled inside me, a broken, mourning sound that echo

  • THE LUNA OF PROPHECY    Chapter 63

That night, I couldn’t sleep. No matter how long I stared at the ceiling, the weight in my chest wouldn’t lift. My body was safe in Xavier’s guest bed, wrapped in warmth, but my soul still felt trapped, tethered to something that hurt every time I breathed.I turned on my side and shut my eyes, willing myself to drift away. And somehow, I did.But it wasn’t a peaceful sleep. The air felt different when I opened my eyes again.I was standing barefoot in a field of silver light, the same field I had seen once before, in a vision of the prophecy. The moon hung low and full, its glow shimmering like liquid. The night was silent, almost reverent. And there he was. Elliot. His eyes found me through the mist, cold, unreadable, beautiful in that distant, painful way he always was. He looked like the Alpha he was born to be: strong, proud, untouchable. I wanted to turn and run, but my feet wouldn’t move. “Why are you here?” I whispered. He tilted his head slightly, that same mocking calm

My chest burned as I got up. Every step felt heavier than the last. I gathered my things with shaking hands, not caring that it was still dark outside. I needed to leave. Right now. Before I lost the little strength I had left. The air felt different l, too still, too quiet, like the universe was holding its breath. My body ached, not just from what had happened, but from the weight of what it meant. I had crossed a line I swore I never would again. I found my phone and typed out a message, with my fingers trembling."I won’t be coming back to the palace. I’ll find another way to repay the debt, but I can’t be around you anymore." My throat tightened as I stared at the words. A part of me still hoped he would come back through that door and tell me to stay. But I knew better. He was probably already in Ariana’s arms by now. I hit send before I could change my mind. I grabbed my bag, took one last look at the bed, the rumpled sheets, the faint warmth where he had been, and someth

He tasted like everything I had been trying to forget.Dangerous, and familiar. The moment our lips met, every wall I had built around my heart cracked open. I knew I shouldn’t, Goddess, I knew. He had hurt me more times than I could count, shattered me in ways I was still trying to recover from. But in that instant, none of it mattered. Not the past, not the pain, not even the voice screaming in my head to stop. His hands found my face, then my waist, pulling me closer as if he couldn’t breathe without me. The kiss deepened, desperate and hungry, all the anger and longing melting into one reckless moment. My body responded before my mind could protest. My heart betrayed me, beating fast beneath his touch, as if it still belonged to him. I felt him tremble against me, shaking. His fingers slid to the back of my neck, his thumb brushing my jaw in that way that always made my knees weak. I should have pushed him away. I should have screamed, cursed him, reminded us both of every

After Elliot left, I could finally breathe again. But the relief didn’t last. My chest still ached with that familiar weight, that pull I couldn’t break, no matter how much I wanted to. Why did he still have that effect on me? Why did my body still remember his touch, his scent, his voice? I guess the Fated Mate bond was stronger than I ever imagined. Even after everything, the betrayal, the pain, my heart still beat for him.I screamed into the emptiness, gripping my hair in frustration. I hated this weakness. After a while, I found a clean towel and took a long, hot bath. When I came out, I changed into fresh clothes, ate something small, and sat quietly, but my mind refused to quiet. Every time I blinked, I saw Luna Sabrina’s eyes, heard Ariana’s voice mocking me. The fury rose again, tightening my jaw.I grabbed my phone and called Xavier. The line barely rang before he answered.“Liora? Goddess, where have you been? I’ve been losing my mind!”“I’m fine,” I whispered, my throat st

When I woke up, everything hurt. My body throbbed like I’d been dragged through fire and ice. For a moment, I didn’t even remember where I was, until I felt something cool against my cheek.I opened my eyes slowly.Elliot was sitting beside me, his sleeves rolled up, his face tense with worry as he dabbed my face with a wet rag. There was blood on his hand, mine. His brows were drawn together in quiet frustration, the kind that came from both anger and fear.I wanted to speak, but my throat burned.“Don’t move,” he said firmly, his voice low but steady. “Just… sit still.”I swallowed hard, trying to understand my surroundings. We were inside what looked like a small hunting cabin, old, dusty, but safe. The walls were made of dark wood, a single oil lamp flickered on a nearby table, and the scent of pine and smoke filled the air. A first-aid kit lay open beside him, and I could tell from the blood-stained gauze that he had been at it for a while. My clothes were torn, my arms bruised,
