Karen sat on the edge of her bed as tears stream down her face.

" How many times do I have to repeat it, I don't love you, I don't want you and I will never love you. Getting married to you was only out of convenience" his voice rang as he stared at his weeping wife.

Karen and Allen had just been married for a year and he was ready to call it quits, he slammed the divorce papers on the table,

" I don't understand what you mean, our bond is forever" she managed to voice out through her sobs, knowing fully well that she had dedicated a year of her life to Allen Roberts, the same man who profess love to her and promised he would move mountains for her sake.

" It's true, I am mated to you but it's only out of convenient and now I don't need you anymore"

" It's not that easy to just reject me?" she added.

" Who said anything about rejecting you, you're my mate and I acknowledge that but I don't want to be married to you anymore" he explained his point clearly.

" The entire clan loves me and acknowledge me as their Luna, there is no way you'll be able to do this" she said standing up from where she sat.

" Oh my God Karen! have you looked at yourself in the mirror lately?" He said feed up with the pathetic look on her face, That very question seized her breath, Allen Robert had said it not once, not twice but numerous times that she was the most beautiful woman he had ever set his eyes on.

" You look horrible, disgusting even for me to set my eyes on you, do you know what the entire kingdom say about you, they don't love you because you're a joke to them."

" But I have always been this way" she voiced.

" And it has always disgusted me from the first day, but I did not have a say it because I had to condole your rubbish, I hate you. I hate seeing your face, getting married to you was nothing but a punishment and I feel like throwing up any time I walk out the door holding hands with you. I had to pretend just so you wouldn't feel bad about it" he yelled.

" Then why? Why didn't you tell me? why on earth did you lie to me, why did you even get married to me" she asked as the questions kept pouring into her head, she began to feel a sudden sharp pain at the bottom of her stomach, the pain in her heart was a thousand times worse, this was something she could never imagine could happen to her, not even in the nearest future.

" TELL ME!" She yelled as he didn't respond to her question.

" I deserve to know" she voiced out in anger.

" There is no use telling you right now, it makes no difference, I tried Karen, I really tried to love you but I couldn't, I'm sorry" he said looking at her reaction, " Hahahaha, is that it, is that what you want to hear?, Pathetic!." He said before walking off.

" Don't just walk out, I need answers" she said following him, but the pain she felt earlier began to increase.

" All I want is for you to get the fuck out of my life" he added still walking towards the stairs.

" I WANT TO KNOW AND YOU'LL TELL ME!" she yelled having reached her limit of conserving both the pain and the hurt, her eyes change colours, it was an accumulation of the pain, the betrayer, the anger, worthlessness and regret.

" I'm not going to ask one more time tell me the reason you decided to play with my feelings all this time".

Allen didn't say a word as he got to the edge of the stairway he stopped and turned towards her for a moment.

"You are nothing but a pod in the game and you weren't able to see the bigger picture, I used you and you want to know why, I'll tell you. It's because that's the only happiness you will ever deserve, rather than that you are nothing" he concluded, purposely trying to get on Karen's nerves.

The rage in her only thought of one thing: attacking him. She needed to blow off some steam, as her claws protruded without warning, ready to inflict injury on her husband.

But he had other plans, in a split second he gave her way, causing her to slip, losing her balance and stumbling down the stairs.

As Karen fall, Allen did nothing to save her, he just watched her till she reached the bottom of the stair.

Karen could feel pain all over, as she had hit the last stair, she knew it was the end, yet she struggled to keep her eyes open through the pain.

The pain she was feeling in her stomach began to increase, as her vision began to blur, but she refused to close her eyes.

After a few minutes, Allen walked down the stairway, getting to where she laid in the pool of her blood,

" Karen!" He screamed, kneeing beside her, " Karen! No please don't let me" he added as fake tear pour down his face.

Karen stared at him with her eyes wide open, struggling with the pain, "You've always been stubborn, what made you think I will divorce you?. Of course, the clan would ask me questions but this plan was brilliant right, you die, they mourn you and we all move on."

" Yo.....u're an an... im... al" she stuttered

" No no, this was just the only way to get rid of you, you falling mixed with the poison will make sure you never survive" he said with a smile creeping on his face.

Karen struggled but the pain was too much and the darkness was calling her so strongly.

" Is she dead?" asked a feminine voice, she struggled to turn her neck but to no avail.

She wanted to see the face of the people who betrayed her, " My love don't want you coming close" Allen said before returning his eyes to his dying wife.

"I don't want you getting covered in her disgusting blood, she will be dead soon and you will be the one and only queen of our clan" he blurted out before stretching his hand to touch the lady he was talking to.

All Karen could see was a bracelet written "flamme amour" in French, it also had O and A letters inscribed on it.

Oyin was the first name that popped into her head but then again there were thousands of people whose name begins with 'O' and it was impossible, Oyin was her best friend.

She kept struggling, if only she could see her face just once, but her body slowly embraced the darkness.

He felt his heart constrict in pain at the sight of the familiar headstone. He could never get used to it no matter how much he came here. To him, it shouldn’t even exist and Karen should be by his side. He knelt down beside the grave and placed the bouquet of purple lilies in his hand. They reminded him of her so he bought some on the way here. A stray tear dropped on one of the flowers and he reached up to clean it. “Hey, Karen. It’s me, again” He said with a painful chuckle “I miss you so much, baby. You have no idea how hard it is to live without you. I still can’t believe you are gone but this, right here.” He said gesturing to her tomb “is the harshest reminder that you aren’t here if the fact that I don’t see your face when I wake up in the morning isn’t.
