The air was suffocatingly still.

It had been thirty-seven hours.

Thirty-seven hours since Noel had walked into that room and refused to leave Vincenzo’s side.

Doctors had come and gone. Nurses whispered in corners. The rhythm of machines continued its haunting lullaby, every beep a breath stolen, every silence a cliffhanger.

Noel hadn’t moved.

Lucas had stabilized, resting in another room with Nico refusing to leave his side.

Aria had gone to get clean clothes and food. She cried when she hugged Noel but left quietly, promising she’d return soon.

But Noel...

He stayed.

He slept curled on the edge of the bed, his arms around Vincenzo’s waist, his cheek pressed lightly against the cold hospital gown.

He hadn't said a word since last night.

Not even to Isadora, who had come with a bowl of soup and a fresh change of clothes.

She stood by the door now, Leontis beside her, both of them silent.

"He's still not speaking?" Leontis asked quietly.

Isadora nodded. "He's holding it all in."

It started with a voice..loud, hoarse, angry..outside the hospital gates. Then came another. Then a dozen more.By the time Noel stepped onto the hospital’s fifth-floor balcony, the parking lot below was a growing mob.“What the hell…” he muttered, clutching the railing.Vincenzo came up beside him, Mei clutched protectively in his arms. She was half-asleep, her little face buried in his neck, blissfully unaware of the chaos brewing below.A man with a loudspeaker stood atop a folding chair, flanked by two other men holding up a crude banner: "Return Mei to Her Blood. De Lucas = Child Thieves!"“They’ve got fucking signs?” Vincenzo hissed.“They’ve got a whole production,” Noel replied tightly, already reaching for his phone. “Security’s overwhelmed. I need to get someone from our own team down there.”The crowd was shouting now. "Kidnappers! Corrupt bastards! Give her back!"“This is him, isn’t it?” Noel asked. “The uncle.”Vincenzo’s jaw clenched. “Has to be. The timing’s too perfec

“I warned you, Isadora!” Leontis snapped, voice echoing through the study like a gunshot.Isadora froze. He had never..never..called her by her name. Not in all the years of their marriage. Not in anger. Not even in passing. It hit like a slap. Her lips parted, but no words came.“I’m doing this for us!” she finally burst out, voice tight, desperate, cracking under the weight of her unraveling control. “For our family! Why can’t any of you see that?”“You’re not doing this for the family,” Leontis said coldly. “You’re doing this for you.”She took a step back like he’d shoved her. “That’s not fair..”“It’s true,” he barked. “And it needs to stop before someone ends up dead. Our daughter is already fighting for her life in a hospital bed because of all this madness you’ve stirred up!”Her composure shattered right there..eyes wide, lip trembling. She looked like she might fall apart or lash out, but instead, she stood frozen in place, breathing hard, completely undone by the sound of

“I found something,” Manuel said quietly as he lowered himself into the armchair across from Francesca, Aria, Lucas, and Nico. The room was subdued..dim lighting, drawn curtains, the weight of mourning heavy in the air. Nico sat stiffly, clad in black. His knuckles were white around the mug of untouched tea in his hands. Lucas stayed close beside him, a steady presence. It had only been one day since Nico buried his mother. One brutal, final goodbye after barely finding her again.Life had a sick sense of timing.Francesca leaned forward. “What is it?”Manuel glanced at Nico, hesitated for a beat, then pressed on. “It’s about Mei.”Aria furrowed her brow. “What about her?”“She’s not just the daughter of that nurse… the one who raised her.”Lucas’s gaze sharpened. Nico blinked slowly, the fog of grief starting to lift as the words turned strange.Manuel steepled his fingers, voice lower now. “Do you remember the male nurse who tried to take out Noel at the hospital? The one from Hydra

“Where is she?!” Noel’s voice cracked like thunder across the marble walls of the Saturn Estate. He stormed in like a storm unleashed, rage lacing every footstep, grief pulsing in his throat. His eyes were wild. Bloodshot. Sleepless.Thank God his father was home. He’d tried calling Leontis all night, with no luck. Now, he didn’t have time for voicemails or formalities.Isadora stood at the far end of the grand sitting room, robed in silk and self-satisfaction, a crystal glass of something dark in her hand. She looked unbothered. Triumphant even.“Good morning, my darling son,” she purred, as though nothing was wrong—as though blood wasn’t on her hands. Her smile was full of delusion. Maybe she thought he’d come crawling back. Maybe she thought the bombing—despite failing—had scared him into submission. Her world, it seemed, was one long hallucination of control. But not today.“Son?” Noel spat the word like poison. “Did I just hear you call me your son?”His voice cut across the room

Alina's eyes widened. Did she just hear what she thought she heard?"Plant the bomb in Vincenzo's car," her mother had said. Cold. Calculated. Ruthless.Alina was standing just a few feet away behind the hedges in the De Luca estate's garden, her entire body trembling as the words echoed in her head. What the hell was going on?She'd come out here to get some fresh air, still reeling from the tension at the hospital and Mei's mother's funeral. But then she'd heard voices, hushed but sharp, slicing through the stillness of the garden like knives. Her mother, Isadora, was on the phone. Pacing. Angry."The De Lucas think they're clever. Let him get comfortable. When that car explodes, everything will fall into place. Noel will be right where I need him. Vulnerable. Alone. And mine to command."Alina's hand flew to her mouth. She had to warn Vincenzo. She turned and ran, nearly tripping over her own feet as she pulled out her phone. Her fingers were shaking as she scrolled to his name and

  • THE MAFIA DON'S PRETTY BOY   A Good father.

“Come home, son. Let’s talk.”Leontis’ voice was steady, calm…too calm.Noel swallowed hard, the weight of the moment sinking in.A father. The word still felt foreign on his tongue. He’d spent his life thinking Carlton was his father…a man who had done nothing but make him feel like an inconvenience. A mistake. And now, even with the truth out, even knowing Leontis was his biological father, the emotional distance remained. There had been no time to build trust, no shared memories to stitch them together. Just blood and complicated silence.“I’ll… I’ll come,” Noel murmured. His voice felt thin in his throat. “I just… I don’t want to see her.”His pulse spiked just saying it.Her.His mother. The one person who should’ve protected him from all of it.And yet…something dark coiled in his gut. Something that whispered she might’ve had a hand in the attempt on his life. Or worse… on Mei’s.There was a beat of quiet on the line, and then Leontis spoke again.“It’s fine. I’ll make sure you
