CHAPTER 3- MEETING THE FAMILY

"We are leaving now", Nikola demanded as he wrapped an arm around my waist, forcing me to walk with him.

"Can I say goodbye to my brothers at least"? I pleaded with Nikola as I glanced back, Every single one of my brothers was just watching hopelessly as he walked me out of the ball, We got to his car and he opened the car door and I had no choice but to climb in.

Yes, Nikola is extremely handsome but he has such a cold vibe and also he looked quite young, definitely not as old as I had previously imagined him to be.

He also got in to the car and sat close to me, The silence was deafening, I didn't want to look or speak to Nikola and he probably wanted the same too.

"Julius will have your room ready when we get back to the house, "Nikola's deep husky voice spoke,I nodded in response.

"I'd prefer a Thank you", Nikola hissed at me, rolling his eyes.

"Thank you", I mumbled not feeling thankful,

It didn't make sense to me, Balls parties like that are mainly held for association but Nikola didn't even tried to talk to anyone.

The car arrived at Nikola's mansion, a woman who was small and frail looking greeted him at the door with a cheerful tone.

"Mama, I told you to get some rest", I heard Nikola say reaching the woman immediately, "Oh I'm okay, just a little sick. His mom eagerly walked to me and I smiled politely as she held my hands, "Ahh she's beautiful", His mom embraced me in her arms.

"where's father?" he asked his mom, "He's in his office", let me show you to your room, She said turning to me, Nikola strutted into the mansion and me and his mom followed him.

She showed me to my room, The room itself was beautiful and had a welcoming vibe, "Your clothes are in this closet here and feel free to ask me anything you need, His mom said to me smiling.

"Thank you ma", I replied and "Oh my name is Selena so call me that instead of ma ,okay?" Yes Selena, and Thank you for everything I said to her.

"Dinner will be ready soon dear, Selena said before leaving the room, I decided to change out of my dress as it was uncomfortable and flashy.

"DINNER", I heard Selena called from down stairs, "COMING" I replied and I began to walk downstairs feeling nervous because I didn't know these people and yet I was going to have dinner with them.

I saw a man sitting at the head of the table, He had his back faced to the entrance of the dinning room.

He was very intimidating like my own father.

"Marilyn,This is my husband, Richard. Selena introduced me, "I'm Marilyn", I introduced myself with a warm smile before sitting down, "Nikola will not be joining us for dinner, Selena said.

The dinner was quiet and Nicolas dad didn't say a word to me, I could barely eat anything with the way I was feeling nervous, After sometime the dinner came to an end and I was more than happy to return to my room.

So I excused myself to my room but not before asking him if I can go to school. Wait, are you serious? He asked.

"Yes, I enjoy going to college and I really look forward in becoming a Therapist", I answered seriously after looking at me for a while he answered , Well you can go and also I will arrange a driver for you. Really?

I said not believing he would agree so easily, thank you very much I said to him not being to hide my excitement.

"Goodnight" he said to me as he walked to his room, Goodnight I said to him joyfully as I skipped to my room, I sighed a breath of relief as I shut my door.

I groaned as I heard my alarm, I slowly got up and did my morning routines and changed into clothes for school,

I walked downstairs and I saw a fancy bag and school materials lying on the table. who got this stuff for me?

I could have just used my old materials but I was very grateful to, since my father refused to buy me any materials concerning school.

I sat down at the table while I looked through the bag. "I hope that's okay for you?" Selena asked appearing out of thin air and almost frightening me.

"Yeah it's great, thank you," I spoke groggily but as politely as I could while I rested my head on the table. I eventually noticed the time and realized I had to leave.

"Have a good day,dear" Selena smiled warmly as she waved."You too". I nodded before heading to the door. How did such a kind woman give birth to someone like Nikola .

After the driver they assigned to me dropped me off, I strolled towards the lockers before being blinded by a pair of hands.

"Guess who?" the person giggled evily.

Mmm, I have no idea I replied sarcastically, knowing exactly who it was, it's me silly, she uncovered my eyes, "Hey Jessica,

I said before hugging her. "Hi Marylin she cheered, wrapping her arms around me, "It's been one crazy weekend," I mumbled, resting my head on her shoulder".

Tell me everything at lunch" she said happily, while we walked to class. we wandered down the halls, talking about anything and everything when Jessica whispered something to me. "Ryan is checking you out".

"No, he's not," I whispered, slightly panicking before glancing over in Ryan's direction and making eye contact with him.

"He makes it so obvious," Jessica mumbles shaking her head disappointedly. "Okay, it's not like he's going to talk........" I was interrupted by Ryan who had approached Jessica and me while we were whispering.

Ryan used to be one of my best friend as a kid. He left for a few years and returned looking a lot different than when he left, and somehow we started attending the same college,He wasn't scrawny anymore, He was now the captain of the football team apparently.

He is also tall and muscular with black hair that is thick and silky with dark brown eyes.

He left his home country in Asia as a child with his family and ended up living in America.

"Marylin", I heard a deep voice call me, I sighed hesitantly as I stared at Olivia grinning."Hi", I smiled as I turned around "Hi Ryan " I beamed happily.

" I know we haven't really spoken since I got back but was wondering if you wanted to my game after classes? " He questioned seeming quite hopeful.
