Milene's POV

Micheal opened the black Bentley door for me as we were on our way to the church. I got in, carefully holding the skirt of my dress around me. Micheal closed the door and climbed into the front seat next to the driver, my bodyguard.

We drove off, and I felt butterflies in my stomach. In less than an hour, I’d be Daniel’s wife. It still didn’t feel real. Soon, the city buildings turned into fields and trees.

Micheal shifted in the front seat and pulled out his gun.

“What’s going on?” I asked.

Micheal looked back but didn’t look at me. I turned around and saw a car behind us, with two men in it. Micheal pulled out his phone and put it to his ear. Before he could speak, another car pulled up beside us and hit our car. We spun around. I screamed as the seatbelt dug into my skin.

“Down!” Micheal shouted. I unbuckled my seatbelt and threw myself forward, covering my head. We crashed into something else before coming to a stop.

Micheal shoved open the door and started firing. My bodyguard followed him. The windows shattered, and I screamed as glass fell all around me. A man cried out, and I called, “Micheal?”

“Run, Milene!” Micheal shouted.

I scrambled through the gap between the front seats. Micheal was leaning against the side of the car, blood leaking from his hand where he pressed it to his side. I stumbled out of the car and knelt beside him. “Micheal?”

He forced a smile, despite the pain. “I’ll be okay. Run, Milene. They want you. Go.”

“Who wants me?” I asked, confused. He fired at the attackers again. “Run!”

I stood and took off, kicking off my heels and holding my dress as I ran. White flower petals from the wrecked arrangement stuck to my feet. Nobody was shooting at me, which meant they wanted me alive—and that scared me. I turned into the forest, hoping I could lose them there. My breath came quickly, and even though I was fit, the heavy dress slowed me down. The fabric caught on twigs, and I fell but stood up quickly and kept running.

Heavy footsteps followed behind me. I couldn’t look back to see who was there. The steps were getting closer. My heart raced, but I didn’t slow down. Was Micheal calling for backup?

Then another thought hit me, what if Micheal didn’t make it? Panic flooded me. I turned back toward the car, but the footsteps grew louder. Two pursuers now.

I had no choice. I ran harder, but the dress was too heavy. A shadow moved from my side, and before I could react, an arm wrapped around my waist. The sudden pull made me lose my balance, and I crashed to the ground. A heavy body pressed on top of me, knocking the air from my lungs. I couldn’t move.

I fought, kicking and screaming, but my tight gown made it hard to move. I knew nobody would hear me unless Dad and Dante had arrived with help.

A hand clamped over my mouth, and I bit down.

“Damn!” the man cursed.

The hand pulled away, and though I couldn’t see clearly, the voice sounded familiar. The tulle covering my face was lifted, and I could finally see. The man sitting on top of me had black hair, black eyes, and a scar on his face. His gaze made my blood run cold.

I’d seen him before but couldn’t remember where. The other man holding my wrists down had blond hair and blue eyes, Tate Di Santos. I froze, recognizing him immediately. He had been the boy I played with when I was younger. Now, he has joined the Camorra.

It clicked right there for me. The man on top of me was Nicolas Falcone, Capo of the Camorra. I jerked under him, my fear giving me strength. I tried to push him off, but he didn’t move.

“Calm down,” Tate said, his voice cold. One hand was bleeding where I’d bitten him. Calm down? They were trying to kidnap me!

I tried to scream, but Nicolas covered my mouth before I could. “Give her the tranquilizer,” he ordered.

I shook my head frantically, but a needle pierced my arm, and I felt my muscles grow heavy. I didn’t pass out completely, but everything blurred. Nicolas lifted me up, carrying me as he ran through the trees. My eyes stayed open, but everything felt distant.

“Milene!” I heard Micheal’s voice in the distance.

“Milene?” Dad’s voice came next.

I heard more men shouting. Someone was coming to save me.

“Faster!” Tate shouted. “To the right!” I could feel the air as they ran, their footsteps heavy. The trees and sky passed by quickly. Twigs snapped underfoot as Nicolas’s breathing became heavier, but his grip on me stayed strong. We broke through the trees and onto a street.

Suddenly, I heard the sounds of car tires, and a small spark of hope filled me. But that hope faded fast when I was thrown into the backseat of a car, with Nicolas sliding in next to me.

“Drive!” he ordered.

I stared up at the ceiling of the car, my breath coming in faster.

“My, what a lovely bride you are,” Nicolas said. I looked up at him, wishing I hadn’t. His twisted smile sent a chill through me. Then, everything went dark, and I passed out.

  • THE MAFIA KING'S STOLEN BRIDE    A Promise In Blood

MILENE'S POV I held Micheal’s gaze, determined to keep my pride no matter what. Women were made to endure pain. If these men could face it, so could I. Nicolas stepped in front of me again. “If you don’t choose, I’ll decide for you,” he said, his eyes telling me he thought he already knew my choice. To him, I was just a weak, insignificant woman. I smiled, my voice steady. “I’d rather feel the cold steel of your blade than have your filthy hands touch me, Nicolas Russo.” For a moment, his eyes flashed with something unexpected, surprise, respect, and a terrifying look of excitement. “I’m going to enjoy hearing you scream,” he said. “Nicolas, that’s enough,” Dante ordered. Nicolas didn’t even look at him. He kept his eyes on me. . “We’re just getting started,” he murmured. Without warning, he grabbed me, spun me around, and yanked me back against his chest. His body pressed against mine. His hand gripped my chin, tilting my head back so I was forced to look up at him. He w

  • THE MAFIA KING'S STOLEN BRIDE    Let The Games Begin

MILENE'S POVEven the next morning, the pizza felt heavy in my stomach. At least now, my nerves were on edge for a different reason than fear. I thought about eating another piece for breakfast. I needed all the energy I could get to figure out how to outsmart Nicolas. Even though I’d been sheltered, I knew Nicolas wouldn’t arrange a video call with my family unless he had something terrible to show them. I barely slept last night. Nicolas hadn’t locked my door when he left, but I didn’t try to leave. I was afraid it might be a trap. I was still too shaken to think of an escape plan that would actually work. I put on the satin nightgown, even though it felt like giving Nicolas a small win. But I knew I had to pick my battles wisely if I wanted to survive. When I heard footsteps outside the door, my body tensed. I stood up from the bed, ready to face Nicolas. But instead of him, Luca Russo came into the room. His brown eyes moved over me, and I wrapped my arms over my chest befor

  • THE MAFIA KING'S STOLEN BRIDE    She's Not Yours

NICOLAS'S POV I left the room, wanting her to think about what I said. Damien was waiting in the hallway as I shut the door behind me. I glanced at him as I walked past. “Did the pizza get here?” Damien followed me closely, then grabbed my shoulder. “What kind of video are you planning to make tomorrow?” I studied him, trying to figure out what he was feeling, but as usual, his expression gave nothing away. “I’ll give her a choice.” Damien shook his head, clearly unhappy. “This girl is innocent. She’s not someone who owes money. She’s not a thief or someone who’s done something wrong. She hasn’t done anything to deserve this.” “Kiara has softened you.” “Not about things like this. We’ve never gone after people who didn’t deserve it, Nicolas. We’ve never hurt anyone innocent, and this woman has done nothing to earn the kind of choice you’re talking about.” I gave him a look. “You know me better than anyone else,” I said quietly. “And yet here we are.” Damien tilted his h

  • THE MAFIA KING'S STOLEN BRIDE    Let The Games Begin

NICOLAS'S POV This little bird seemed desperate to get out of my cage, only to end up flying right into Daniel’s. Her eyes and face still showed traces of her earlier panic, but she lifted her chin and narrowed her eyes at me. She was trying to act tough, like she could play with the big boys. I walked into the room slowly. Her shoulders straightened in a show of defiance, but her hand clutched the sheet around her body, fingers shaking against the red fabric. My eyes stayed on her as I placed the clothes on the bed. Her sweet scent drifted toward me, faint but noticeable. It smelled like vanilla, as if she’d been prepared for her wedding night. My nostrils flared. “Trying to escape my cage, little bird?” She shot me a sharp look. “You seem to like birds a lot.” “I enjoy breaking them.” Her lip curled slightly, but even then, she was beautiful. I could guess what she was thinking that I was the kind of man who tortured small animals for fun. “I’m not that kind of monster,”

  • THE MAFIA KING'S STOLEN BRIDE    The Escape Attempt

I asked weakly. “Why not let him start whatever torture you have planned? Why bring me here, to your mansion?” Nicolas’s eyes studied me, as if he didn’t fully know the answer himself. His silence confirmed my suspicion, this was his family’s mansion. It surprised me that he would risk bringing me here. “Like you said,” he finally replied, “I’ll be the one to make you scream. No one else.” He closed the door behind him. I shut my eyes and pulled the blanket tightly around me. This was a power game. A cruel game of chess. But I wouldn’t be a pawn. I wouldn’t even be the queen. And Nicolas would never be my king. NICOLAS'S POV I grabbed a pair of sweatpants before heading downstairs to our game room, where Luca, Damien, and Liam were sitting. Ever since Kiara joined our family, my days of walking around the house naked whenever I wanted were over. My brothers looked at me like I was about to explode. I smiled at them. Liam shook his head but didn’t say anything. It was clear

  • THE MAFIA KING'S STOLEN BRIDE    The Angel And The Devil

MILENE'S POV My trembling hand rested on the smooth sheet, the white of my skin standing out against the red. I shivered and started breathing too fast again. Nicolas sat down on the bed beside me, making it sink under his weight. He wore nothing except a knife holster strapped across his chest. His muscles and scars spoke of strength and danger. I looked away, my teeth chattering. Nicolas reached toward me. “Don’t,” I said weakly, then more firmly, “Don’t touch me.” His dark eyes locked on mine, his gaze full of meaning. He leaned closer until his face was all I could see. “After everything you’ve seen me do today, you still dare to defy me? Don’t you think giving in to me would make things easier for you?” His voice was calm and soft, almost like he was curious. “Yes,” I whispered. His eyes flickered, as if he were disappointed. “But I would rather feel pain than give in to you, Nicolas.” He smiled, his expression dark. He reached over me again, and before I could react,
