Se connecterNatalie’s POV
Who does he think he is to boss me around, I put the box aside and just laid there for a while… then I heard a loud bang on my door that snapped me back to reality “Natalie, are you dressed yet?” He asked in an angry tone. “No, and I’m not going to any party with you.” I screamed loud enough so he could hear. I could hear his footsteps backing away some minutes later, finally relieved, but my relaxation was cut short, when the door flew open, I was certain I locked it from inside so how did he? “I don’t take no for an answer Natalie, so I suggest you stop testing my patience and dress up for the gala, it’s a masked gala, I’ll be meeting some work colleagues there” “And that’s supposed to be my problem how?” I snapped at him. I pushed myself up on the bed glaring at him, he didn’t give me an answer, he just walked over, pulled the heel from the box and knelt in front of me. When he slid it onto my foot, his touch was cold but gentle Whatever he was doing made my blood boil, he wasn’t gentle unless it meant something to him. So what game is he playing now? I jerked my foot backwards, but he only tightened his grip on my ankle even further. Then he finally stood up when the heels were tight enough. “Dress yourself” he voiced out before fixing his gaze on me “Now!” “Go to hell” I hissed. He yanked me forward forcing me to stumble over and falling on him, his breath brushed my skins and made me turn instantly cold. He gripped my waist so hard it was difficult to breath before saying “I don’t like repeating myself, Natalie” What happened in the study the other day flashed in my memory... the whip, the torture, everything. "Get out," I managed to choke out. "So, I can change." His eyes searched mine for a second too long. Then he released me from his grip and stepped back. "The door stays unlocked, just in case you try anything funny." He stood outside the door tapping his shoe slowly. The gown was Emerald green. Of course. And it reminded me a lot of the way he looks at me. When I opened the door, I only made it halfway out before his arm shot out, blocking me. "Something’s missing." He shrugged He walked back into the room. When he returned, he held two things: the diamond choker he’d given me as my birthday gift, and a lace mask. The mask came first. He tied it over my eyes firmly. Then the choker. His fingers were warm as he fastened it, but when he was done, he gave it one final tug. "Perfect," he murmured against my ear. "Now we can leave." He shut the door behind me. His hand settled at the waist, guiding me as he led me down the stairs. The car was already waiting outside, engine running. He opened the car door, and I slid into the back seat because fighting him in public wasn’t worth the bruises. Before I could reach for the door, he grabbed the seatbelt and clicked it shut across my lap. He gave it one extra tug, cinching it tight against my stomach. His knuckles brushed against me. Cold and possessively. “Can’t have you running off again” he said, before sitting on his side of the chair. I turned my face to the window. Minutes later, the car rolled to a stop. The gala had already begun, and everyone were being ushered into the building. Staffs in black uniforms ushered us through a side entrance, away from cameras. We got to the main hall and a bodyguard stepped forward. Young, clean-cut, professional. He extended a hand to me politely. “Miss, this way—” Lucien moved faster than expected. His hand shot past the guard’s and caught mine, fingers tightening on my palm before I could jerk back. “Don’t touch her,” he murmured I tried to pull free from his grip but he was too strong. “I didn’t ask for—” He dragged me forward, glaring at the guard until the man dropped his eyes and stepped back. We stopped at the bar. One long, obsidian stool at the corner. Lucien pressed a hand to my waist forcing me to sit. “Wait here.” he said in a cold tone, then he vanished into crowd. I’d been alone for ten minutes, then one of Lucien's old friends approached me at the bar. Malachi. “Poor little bird,” he murmured, appearing at my side. Lucien’s oldest friend. His biggest enemy. He looked exactly like sin... dark suit, darker smile. “Does he keep you on a chain when there aren’t cameras?” he asked mockingly offering his hand. “Dance with me. Or are you waiting for permission?” I knew what he was doing. I knew who he was doing it for. I took his hand anyway. The dance floor was packed. Malachi didn’t lead me into the crowd. He pulled me into him, one hand gripped across my waist, the other catching my hip. We were chest to chest. Too close. His gaze slid past me, fixing on Lucien at the bar. Lucien had a tumbler in his hand, he wasn’t drinking, he was watching. When Malachi’s thumb dragged up my side, Lucien frowned then he crushed the glass of whiskey in his hand. Whiskey and blood hit the bar top. People near him gasped and stepped back. He set the ruined tumbler down, blood running between his fingers, and started walking towards us with death glares in his eyes. Malachi chuckled against my ear. “And there he is.” Lucien reached us and didn’t stop, one arm hooked around my waist and yanked me towards him. I was ripped from Malachi and slammed back against Lucien’s chest within seconds. His blood smeared onto my dress. “Touch her again,” Lucien raged... “and I’ll feed you your fingers.” Malachi just smirked. “She came to me willingly. Maybe she’s tired of the collar.” “Lucien, let me go,” I snapped, shoving at his arm. He answered by pulling me tighter. He spun me, dipped me, his body forcing mine where he wanted it. When he lifted me, his hand slid up my thigh, fingertips digging into my skin. “Stay away from him,” he breathed, as his lips brushed the crook of my neck. “I’m not asking, Natalie.” “You don’t own me!” His laughs mockingly before replying. “Lie to yourself better.” I shoved his hand backwards, harder this time then he let go. I stumbled back, sucked in air, and did the one thing I knew would hurt his inflated ego. I walked straight to Malachi. Grabbed his collars and pressed myself against him, moving to the music. Slow and Seductive. Lucien stood at the edge of the floor, blood dripping from his fist onto the floor, as he watched us dance angrily, I could tell he was boiling from inside. His expression was blank. That was worse than rage. His looked above us, at the mezzanine balcony, he looked shocked like he just saw something odd. He crossed the distance that separated us in two heartbeats without a warning. One second, I was in Malachi’s arms. The next, Lucien’s arm was around my waist. Then I heard it, the sound of a bullet piercing through Malachi, he choked out blood and staggered to the floor The music stopped right away. People screamed Lucien’s arms were around me, but I couldn’t feel them. The room spun. The screaming doubled. The blood on the floor kept spreading, reaching for my feet. My knees gave out and the last thing I saw was Lucien’s face above me, then I blacked out.Lucien’s POV"Natalie? This is not the right time for this..." The words barely made it past my mouth before her fingers hooked into the belt loops of my jeans, anchoring me to the spot…I swallowed hard…as I fought to clamp down on the sudden, violent surge of adrenaline and want. Every instinct in my body had no ounce of restraint I usually relied on to keep my head screwed on straight…"You always say that, Lucien…" she murmured. "…And yet, you never actually push me away…I want you buried inside me Lucien please…you want me to be? I am…"Before I could formulate a defense, she placed her lips just below my jawline…a slow kiss pressed into the hollow of my neck…I must admit… neck kisses are my weakness and I guess she already figured it out and the sensation was sickening…I took in a sharp breath as my hands moved on instinct, clamping onto her waist with a tight… unyielding grip, lifting her against me until there was no space left to breathe...She didn't hesitate…with a slow de
Lucien’s POV "What the hell was that?" I murmured to myself as I tried to zoom in a little bit into the camera feed so that I could see… even a little glimpse of what Camille put in Natalie’s bedsheets, but I couldn’t see clearly from the camera, so I had to go directly to her room to see what it was I couldn't make out the shape of it. I didn't want to just barge into her room right after she had barely settled down…she'd think I was losing my mind, hovering over her like a paranoid warden…so I leaned back, keeping my eyes glued to the camera feed…On the screen, I watched her go through her wardrobe, took a look in the mirror and changed into an oversized sleeping pajama… washed her face in the bathroom, and finally pulled back the duvet to slide beneath the covers…the moment she settled against the pillows…my gut feeling told me something was terribly wrong somewhere...That uneasy feeling didn't fade; Camille didn't do things without knowing…she’s fully aware that whatever she p
Lucien’s POVI stood outside Natalie’s room for several long seconds before rubbing the back of my neck where I had a slight ache… before heading downstairs toward my own room to clear my head...Before I could even reach my door...I was already exhausted from all that took place today so I needed some rest but I guess I should have known better that my father won’t let me have the peace of mind I wished for…"Lucien." He called out… when I was about turning my door knob to get into my room sometimes I wish my room was in fact upstairs and not downstairs… it would really save me a lot of stress…and unnecessary arguments from this god forsaken family…I stopped, exhaling a slow breath... I didn't want this conversation. I was already exhausted, and the last thing I had the energy for was playing the dutiful son."Yes, Father?" I lazily answered back not bothering to turn around immediately."Have you put Natalie in her room yet?" he asked in a low tone...changing the tone of his voice
Lucien's POV"Enough!" Father lashed out angrily as he walked angrily towards me…I stared at Father without saying a word…he looked furious, but unlike everyone else in the room, I wasn't intimidated. He slowly looked around before his gaze settled on me."Lucien…I've tolerated your disrespect for years. I've allowed you to yell at me, insult me, question my decisions, and call me every name imaginable…And I accepted it because I know you've carried resentment ever since your mother disappeared."“And don’t play the victim here when you know you are the mastermind behind everything…” I countered…“Mastermind?” He asked raising a brow at me… “Are you trying to say I planned all this?”“I’m not trying to say anything…I’m simply just stating the fact”"Fact?” He paused before continuing “…I will not sit here and watch you disrespect your brother and Camille. That is where I draw the line.""You draw the line?" I repeated. "That's funny.""What's so funny?""The fact that you think you h
Lucien's POV"Lucien, no!" Natalie's called out she pushed my hand to the side so the bullet didn’t touch Camille instead it hit the wall behind her…"What are you doing?" she shouted, looking back at me…I didn't answer…I just continued to glare at Camille…she glanced at the bullet hole in the wall before looking back at me with a worried look…"You're lucky she saved you today," I said calmly. "Next time, I won't miss… and pray to whatever God that listen that there don’t ever be a next time because I’ll be sure to put a bullet or two into your thick skull…""You've always had a talent for talking big…haven’t you?" She scoffed… “So you're really willing to turn against everyone you know because of some charity case?""What did you just call her Camille?"Camille shrugged. "You heard me loud and clear Lucien...""No," I replied, taking a slow step toward her. "Say it again if you dare..."Father stepped forward to stop me placing her hand in between me and Camille "Lucien end this now
Lucien's POV“What do you mean what’s the occasion?” Father asked mockingly…“You’re drinking wine… almost like you were expecting some good news… what could it be about?”“What are you implying Lucien?”“I’m just asking what must be the good news that makes you to celebrate with a bottle of wine… there must be something special happening today that I hope you wouldn’t mind telling me about”“Nothing really…I just thought I could have a few glasses before you all came back”“A few glasses? Is that why you didn’t bother to call when you didn’t see that we were home up till now?”"So," he said, "how was the grocery shopping?" I couldn't believe what I'd just heard."Grocery shopping?" I snapped. "Are you fucking kidding me right now?""Watch your tone." Father lashed out at me"My tone?" I lashed out bitterly. "…Two people almost lost their lives because of your little grocery shopping! Couldn't you have sent someone else?""There wasn't anyone else in the house.""There wasn't?" I aske

Natalie’s POV There was no way I could duck and hide because he was already close enough, he could hear my breathing get heavy, my heart drummed in my chest as I stood still thinking of what excuse to tell him. “Natalie why are you going through my stuff?” “I’m sorry I didn’t see anything I’l
“Mum?” I sprinted for the door as I saw her walked past, still in that dream again I never get past every single time, probably a nightmare of some sort but I didn’t see any blood yet. I opened the door to check if mum was alright, she was right there, within reach then I stretched my hand forwar
Natalie’s POV This felt more than just a regular punishment, I just stared at him in disbelief, The darkness casting his large shadow over me…“Aren’t you going to leave or…”“I’m going creep” I was still trebling but I had to put myself together, I really didn’t think he would take the punishment
