More than enough

AVERY’s POV

When I woke up I had severe body pains and my eyes were heavy.

“Oh, my God my head is going to fall! What happened?”

I removed the sheets from my body and immediately I saw my naked body. I flinched and put my hand over my hand. I quickly remembered my time with Axell. How I followed him to his house got drunk and begged him to fuck me. I almost ran mad just thinking about it

“No way, No way, No way! Oh, God, please!”

I quickly jumped up from the bed, put on my clothes, and when I looked on the shelf next to me there was a little note with my name on it. I quickly grabbed it and checked for the content inside.

“Thanks for last night, Sweet Avery”

I fell to the ground and almost shed tears. 

“He gotta be joking! Sweet, Avery?!!! That is all? What does he mean thanks for last night like he had sex with a slut! He had his way with me and just left? Oh, no”

I ran out of the building, and there was no one else. I saw my car parked in front of the gate. I quickly got in and drove away very fast.

When I got home I went straight to my room and I saw Logan and Camila on the bed sound asleep.

I tried to be as quiet as possible. I checked the time and it was 9 am on Saturday. 

“Thank God I don't have to go to work”

I whispered under my breath and I walked 

I got into the shower and stood for about 3 minutes reminiscing on all that just happened and I was more than angry at myself for allowing it to happen. 

I dressed up and walked down to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. Something to keep my mind off that bastard, Axell.

“Mummy, is that you?”

“Hey, my love. Are you awake? How was your night my boy?”

“Where have you been? Aunt Camila said you want to church but I know she lied”

“How do you know that?”

“I can't remember the last time you went to church, mummy. Can you? You don't have to tell

me where you were, but I am glad that you are back”

I stared at his little sleepy face and played with his hair. I hugged and kissed his lips. 

The day Shawn left me heavily pregnant in the rain after denying the pregnancy I promised myself never to let any other man come close to me but I failed! I failed woefully! A man I barely knew! Fuck!

“Is this a family reunion without me?”

Camila outside just outside the kitchen.

Logan ran outside to the Television while Camila looked at me like she knew something was wrong.

“Spill it!”

“I fucked up! I messed up big time!”

I narrated the whole thing to her and she was as shocked as I was when I realized what I did. Including the part of Scofield. 

“You mean you did it? With a stranger? And about Scofield, I think you should sue him. Imagine what would have happened if that man hadn't come in time!”

“Yes! With a hot, charming, handsome..”

“Avery, I think you are missing the point!”

“Oh, yes! I need to shower with holy water and ask Mary the mother of Jesus for forgiveness. And I can not use him. It will be his words against mine. He has money and influence, but who am I? A single mother who just got laid by a ghost!”

“What?!”

We chuckled carefully but deep down I felt used and betrayed by a stranger I hope never to see again. 

(6 MONTHS LATER)

AXELL’s POV

“Is everything set?”

“Yes, sir. We just have a little problem at hand”

“What might that be?”

“We got a call this morning from Mexico and one of the men said Paolo has been asking for you all over”

“Is that the problem? Carlos, what did I tell you about not bothering yourself with small fries? Paolo will only get himself killed if he keeps searching for me”

I didn't leave Mexico and the dangerous life over there just to get my hands dirty again. 

“Hey, my man! You look great. Now, give me a smile befitting of a CEO”

Bryson, my best friend and right-hand man, is always fond of giving me unnecessary praise.

“Bryson, not today, man. There are a lot of things to do and on top of that, Carlos just told me Paolo has been sniffing! He probably has his men on my tail right now!”

“Paolo? That bastard doesn't get tired, does he? I think I know who might be helping him”

He twisted his neck, pouted his lips, and stared at me.

“Don't look at me like that, okay?”

“If you had listened when I told you to dump that bitch but you never did! And now she is our biggest threat! I still don't understand why you picked Las Vegas of all places to come to!”

“Bryson, we are not hiding, are we? So we can stay wherever the fuck we want! And fuck that bitch! I should have killed her when I had the opportunity to”

I hit the table with my hands angrily then lit up a smoke. I sat on a desk inside my room smoking while Bryson and Carlos, one of my bodyguards just stared at me. 

“Ah, Axell, about the lady from the party the other night. Have you heard from her or something?”

I paused for a moment and stared at him then I scoffed.

“Will it be bad if I haven't? Because I haven't and I don't feel bad about it.. But there is something. Wait, what lady? I have met a lot within the space of 6 months in Vegas”

“What is it? Have you fallen for your mysterious one-night stand? You know the one I am talking about! The one from the party, Avery, right?”

“Fallen?”

I chuckled and puffed a smoke.

“Falling for a lady is not in my books presently. I admit I enjoyed every bit of her the last time and I wouldn't mind keeping her as a plaything but nothing too serious of course”

“Are you sure, Axell?”

“Remember the last girl I tried taking seriously after Lucrecia?”

“No. Wait, there was another girl? I do not recall!”

“Exactly! Because she is dead! Let us go”

“What? Dead?”

“Bryson calm your balls down, okay? Is going to be a long day”

We walked and got into the car.

“I just wish you didn't just leave that lady all alone in that house after that night. Man, you sure had her through the whole night. She was screaming it was so crazy, man”

“Bet it was! I will see her sooner than she expects”

“What do you mean by that?”

Bryson quickly asked out of curiosity. 

“You will see”

While talking I heard a gunshot. Bryson and I jumped out of the car but there was no sight of the shooter.

“Hey, Carlos are you alright? Carlos—”

I looked into the car and I saw blood pouring from his head. 

“Bryson, they got Carlos. Fuvk!”

Bryson pulled Carlos's lifeless body out of the car and I laughed loudly.

“They just drew the battle line!”

I exclaimed loudly. 

“Put your hands on your head or you are going down next! Axell!”

A sharp but thick voice yelled from behind me.
