Bryan felt the guilt eating him out as he saw how red Kira's cheek was from his slap. He sighed inwardly and wanted to reach out to her cheek, he thought it would be best if he didn't but he just…he just wanted her here with them. If only she would just accept them, then maybe it would help a lot.
Kira could feel Bryan's gaze on her and slowly looked away. But still, she could still feel his heavy gaze, and it was causing her to be a bit worried because he was not saying anything, just staring at her. Bryan on the other hand, reached out to her, softly, his jaw clenching at the mark on her face caused by him. Aiden noticing what was happening just chuckled inwardly and also sighed tiredly. Kira flinched slightly and, still feeling his gaze on her and now his touch, she looked up, her eyes meeting his. She tried to read him but could not, she had no idea what he was feeling or thinking, and she hated it, she wanted to see. Bryan brushed his fingers against her cheeks, his touch gentle, soothing and warm. They could both feel the spark of electricity as his hand came in contact with his cheek. She was upset but could feel her skin warming under his touch, her heart rate slowing as she unconsciously leans into his hand and purrs a little. It seemed like his touch had calmed her down and soothed her from the pain she was feeling earlier, even though it still stung, but it was not as much as before. When she finally came back to her senses, her eyes shot wide open, and she quickly sat up straight, while Bryan's hand just hung in the air, with one of his brows raised in a questioning way. Aiden could not help but chuckle loudly, making it more embarrassing for Kira. "Seems like she enjoys being touched, brother," Aiden said teasingly while Bryan laughed softly. Kira blinked a few times while facing him, her eyes dropping slowly to his lips as she felt her breath caught in her chest. It seemed the connection was getting stronger. "What is wrong with you?", she scolded herself in her mind, "What are you doing? He literally just slapped you, and you are enjoying…oh moon goddess, what is wrong with me?", she yelled at herself. It was like she was betraying her emotions, and she did not like it, she wanted nothing more than to hate the Alpha twins and leave this pack. She did not want to falter, and she definitely will not fall for their trap. "I hate them, I hate them", Kira kept muttering to herself, "They hurt me, they treat me like trash, they see me as just an Omega, I hate them. Why are they cold and next thing they are sweet, I can not", she closed her eyes, still muttering inwardly to herself how much she hates them and would never accept them as her mate. "They are just toying with you", She muttered to herself and nodded, "That is the only explanation to all these." Bryan watched Kira closely before calling out to her, "Kira?" "Hm?", she answered while still being in her head but shook her head as if to keep the thoughts at bay as she properly answered, "Yes Alpha?" "Before we talk to you about what we wanted to talk to you about, I would like to apologize," He said, surprisingly to Kira. She had to steal a short glance at Aiden, and looked around to be certain she indeed heard right. "I know it is difficult to believe, but I apologize for hitting you," Bryan continued despite seeing her very well surprised and shocked reaction, "I know I should not have lost control like that and hit you. But…" "Here we go," Kira said in her mind, "Of course there would be a but, there always has to be a justification." "But you need to understand, you are mine. You are our Omega, you belong with us, and we won't let anyone or anything take you away from us, not even yourself." Kira forced herself not to say anything, she could only say how she truly felt in her mind, "What about me? What about my happiness? What about what I want?", that was everything she wished to say out loud but could not. "And if you leave, it will destroy us, and we won't be able to protect you", Aiden spoke from behind her. "I need protection from the both of you. The only protection I will need would be one from you and your brother," Kira said inwardly. "You are safest with us, this is where you belong Kira, and we will do whatever it takes to keep you by our side, you just need to accept it", Aiden pressed on. Kira was not even sure if this was an apology anymore. Who apologizes like this? Kira had no choice but to pretend like everything was okay, "I understand", she muttered softly and let out a short breath. She sat there waiting for them to say something, mostly because she remembered they mentioned they wanted to talk to her about something and the sooner they did, the sooner she could get some time alone to think. Since it was taking like forever for them to talk, she decided to start the conversation herself, "So? Umm, you said you wanted to talk about something." "Yes", Bryan remembered, his gaze drifting to her eyes as he pulled himself out of his trance, her voice was so soft and sweet, "this Omega is going to be serious trouble for me", Bryan thought, "but in a good way." "Aiden, can you?", Bryan asked his brother and Aiden nodded and seated upright, "Of course." "We want to talk to you about the bonding and mating ritual," Aiden informed her, "We need to finish those as soon as possible, and you also need to be announced as our Luna." "But i- please don't make me, I don't want to complete them, I am not ready, I have not even agreed to accept the bond we share," Kira said and quickly stopped herself before she would say something that would upset them. "You do not have a choice Kira, we do not want to force this on you but if you fail to comply, then we…", Bryan paused before he could finish up his sentence, a peculiar scent tickling his nose. He looked up at his brother and asked, "Do you perceive that?"It had been five days.Five long days since the curse had been broken, and five days since everything had gone back to normal, except for the fact that Bryan and Aiden were still unconscious."Don't worry, Luna Kira, they will wake up soon," the healer had told her kindly while gently patting her shoulder. "Their bodies are simply exhausted from everything it has been through, like you explained. You just have to be patient."And so, every day, Kira stayed by their side. She would clean them up with warm water and a soft towel, gently wiping away any sweat or dirt, and would also smoothen their hair and make sure they were comfortable.Elara, Orion, and Ryker visited too, sitting with her, bringing her food, and making sure she ate and also took care of herself. Sometimes they would also want to help her out, but she will disagree, and then after some time of convincing, she will agree to take a break."When will you both wake up?" She whispered, her voice small as she had just finish
Lucinda raised her hand to blast Kira again, but even as she ran, Kira reached out with her mind and blocked it, but Lucinda was relentless.Immediately Kira blocked it, she tried to hit Kira again with as much force, not letting a second pass by, but Kira was fast and dodged it, using one hand to slam it down as she kept running.Soon, they were close, which was exactly what she wanted."You don't understand!" Lucinda screamed, her eyes wide and angry. "My sister deserves justice, and you are getting in the way of it.""This isn't justice," Kira shouted back. "You are not doing yourself; you're not doing anyone good by holding on to this pain! You need to stop!""You need to die," Lucinda said with so much detest and swirled her arms around, sending another wave of dark energy towards Kira, but Kira moved fast and sent hers back, their powers clashing midair and causing both of them to stumble backwards."You are trying to break the curse," Lucinda said angrily, her voice sharp. "I w
Saying that, Kira stood up slowly and closed the book, her eyes scanning the room for any sign of Lucinda's magic, just in case she had already located them and done something."The witch? Lucinda?" Aiden asked."Yes," Kira answered, giving a quick nod."Why is she here?" He inquired, the confusion clear on his face. "You haven't even started doing anything.""I'm not sure," Kira responded. "But like I said earlier… ulterior motives. I believe she knows I will still go ahead and try my best to break the curse, despite her warnings and threats. So I guess she's here to stop that from ever happening… Like forever.""Okay. Okay," Aiden took it in, already getting ready to spring into action. "I will get the warriors ready…""No," Kira quickly interrupts. "No. It's best if we don't do that. Tell everyone to stand down and stay in their homes. I will try to talk to her again, even though it will end up with us fighting.""Sending our warriors there," she explained. "Will get them all kille
Blinking once, then again, Kira saw that the place where Lucinda had been standing all along was now empty. She turned around in the room, wondering if Lucinda was still in the building, eyes searching, but the whole place was quiet with no sign of her."Seriously?" Kira said, raising her brows while staring at the empty space in disbelief. "How rude.""That is very rude," she muttered again to herself as she left the building, the way Lucinda had just left her standing there, still shocking and definitely rude."It's my fault, right?" She said as she got into her car and started the engine. "It's my fault for coming.""Can you imagine?" She spoke to herself some more as she tapped the steering wheel with her fingers, already forming a plan in her head, although it was a plan that was unrelated to Lucinda disappearing just like that."But it's fine," she muttered one last time and drove back home.Parking the car and stepping out of it as she reached back home, Kira looked around the
Once again, the silence fell heavily on them after Lucinda was done talking, and Kira closed her eyes for a little moment, taking in a deep breath and letting it all out.Her chest rose and fell slowly as she absorbed everything, right from the pain she saw in Lucinda's eyes, the loss, her bloodline, and everything else. She didn't rush to speak. Instead, she let the silence stretch a few more seconds as she grounded herself and also wanted to find a way to reason with Lucinda. After the few seconds passed, she opened her eyes, her gaze locked onto Lucinda's, who was currently watching her with a blank expression. As for Kira, her eyes had no anger, just calm, and a deep, aching empathy. She couldn't lie, she understood why Lucinda was doing what she was doing, but for Bryan and Aiden to suffer for it also didn't seem fair to them."I am truly sorry that you both had to go through all this," she started, her voice warm and gentle. "I know my words aren't enough to heal you from that
Kira's face, which initially had the expression that she had guessed right, twisted to shock and from shock to visible confusion, her brows drawing together and her eyes darting over Lucinda's form as though she was trying to put the pieces together. There was a long stretch of silence between them, which Kira broke as she asked a question slowly and unsure. "I don't understand. Her twin sister?""Yes," Lucinda answered simply, watching Kira's confused state.Kira gave a short, humorless smile, not one out of amusement, but the one that was more like one of those reactions when something becomes too complicated to make sense."Even though you are her twin sister," she said. "I still do not understand how you are here. What exactly is going on? And why are you here?""I know that you know the answer to that question, and what you are thinking is right," Lucinda confirmed. "This is my revenge for my sister."For a good three minutes, Kira didn't say anything and just stared. Then she
