The Triplet Alphas (Ronald’s POV).

The air in the cabin felt heavier after she said it.

“The real culprit…?” I repeated, just to be sure I heard her right.

Mother nodded. “You’re free now, Ronald. You can come home. But until we're sure everything’s settled, you will remain here, for now, tonight.”

Home.

The word didn’t sound real. It sat there in my chest, warm but unfamiliar, like something I used to know.

I tried to speak, but my throat ached from disuse. She reached out, brushing a thumb under my eye. “Pack what’s yours,” she whispered. “We might leave at dawn.”

The drive back was quiet.

The SUV hummed softly as it rolled through the woods. I kept my face turned toward the window, watching trees blur into streaks of green and brown. After weeks of nothing but candlelight and shadows, the world outside felt too bright.

Mother drove, both hands tight on the steering wheel. The sky above was gray, the kind of gray that promised rain but never quite delivered it.

Erica’s POV.I brushed Mother aside and walked toward him. He was smiling ear to ear, and even though I wanted to believe he didn’t hear anything, my hands trembled. My knees felt weak all of a sudden.“What… what are you doing here?” I stuttered, forcing a smile that barely fit.“I wanted to surprise you,” he chuckled, spreading his arms like the whole moment was his surprise. “Well, aren’t you going to give me a hug?”“Oh—yes!” I laughed, the sound of my voice was shaky, as I threw my arms around him. I rubbed his back like he was the only thing steady in the right there. He let out a deep breath. “It’s so good to see you.”“Yeah… it’s so good to see you too,” I said, my voice small. He pulled back, cupping my face and staring into my eyes, like he was looking for something hiding there.“Are you okay? You don’t look happy to see me,” he said, slipping his hands into his pockets.I scoffed, feigning a smile I feared was obviously fake. “What are you talking about? I’m happy you’re

  • THE OMEGA'S RETURN: Her Second Life Under The Moonlight.   Chapter Hundred -Nine.

Erica's POV.THREE WEEKS LATER…Things had become more quiet than usual, almost back to normal, Rowen wasn't in the city, he'd been so busy signing peace treaties and contracts…creating able allies here and there…Robert followed him of course…Ronald was still going to college, determined to finish since a lot had wrecked his life these past few months…Reynold…well, he was no different from being absent. Though he was still in the mansion studying, he pretended like he didn't see me, let alone want me.I had looked in his eyes countless times to find at least one clue that he was pretending… but nothing. He hated me now, I was pretty sure…Ethan had tried taking me to the U.K with him, where he lived but, I insisted that I stayed back…to study…Study.I laughed at that excuse …study was just an excuse to be here, to suffer from Reynold's silence and to execute my plan against Denise. The moon goddess had blessed me enough with too many chances, letting her down would be my own loss.

Erica’s POV.I could’ve thought of something better. A smarter plan. A cleaner one, maybe. But “better” wasn’t what I needed anymore. I just wanted to do what I’d been reborn to do — take Denise down and finally make her choke on her own arrogance. She had done so much and still walked around like she owned the sun. I’d tried to forgive her before — too many times. But Denise didn’t change. She had a talent for cruelty. For twisting kindness into weakness. She hated me more than she ever had in my past life. I could feel it every time our eyes met — that silent wish for my death. But I wasn’t dying again. Not like a defenseless mouse under the paw of a cat.The mirror in front of me caught the reflection of two maids fussing with my hair. They whispered to each other softly, careful not to pull too hard. The air smelled faintly of rosewater and candle wax. Somewhere outside, the sky was softening — morning turning slowly into afternoon. Then the door flew open.He barged in, fast and

°Erica’s POV°The room went so quiet, I could hear my own heartbeat. The council chamber felt smaller than usual, like the air itself was closing in. Everyone was staring at the girl being dragged in by the guards — her head low, wrists bound, ankles bruised from the thick chains. And then I froze. That face. That hair, the same pale silver Daisy’s old host had worn like a mark of defiance. I recognized her before anyone else did. The young werewolf from the rival pack. The one Daisy had once used, the one she’d left behind when she switched bodies.I didn’t understand at first. My mind just… stalled. What was she doing here?My mother, leaned back in her seat, looking almost bored, but I saw the faintest twitch at the corner of her mouth, Heaven wasn’t expecting this...The girl lifted her head slowly, her eyes were glassy and unfocused , and for a heartbeat, she looked right at me and something flickered there…familiarity , but now it was a ghost of someone else behind those eyes.

  • THE OMEGA'S RETURN: Her Second Life Under The Moonlight.   Chapter Hundred -Five.

The Triplet Alphas (Ronald’s POV).The cabin smelled like old wood and forgotten rain. The kind that never really leaves no matter how many windows you open or how many candles you light. Not that I could open the windows anyway—Mother’s hired witch's spell had sealed the place tight.I’d stopped counting the days a while ago. At first, I made little marks on the wall with a piece of charcoal I found near the fireplace. One, two, three… after fourteen, it didn’t matter anymore. The only thing that kept changing was the bread. There was a tray by the window with a pile of stale slices that looked like they’d been there since time began. I didn’t have the heart—or appetite—to touch them. Every time I looked at them, my stomach twisted, but not from hunger, just from the reminder that I was still here. Still locked away like some dark secret nobody wanted to admit existed.I leaned back against the wall, staring at the ceiling. There was a tiny crack that ran right through the middle of
