CHAPTER 10: DEBTS

last update publish date: 2026-08-28 23:17:27

"Boss, you okay? Not too tired from the drive?" I asked, putting on my best five-star spa therapist voice as I gently kneaded Antonio's shoulders.

We were in the VIP lounge on the club's second floor. Antonio was sprawled out on a massive plush couch, and there I was behind him, desperately giving him a full-body massage like my life depended on it—because frankly, it did.

He suddenly clamped a heavy, scarred hand over mine and slowly pushed it off his shoulder. Taking the cigar out of his mouth, he exhaled a thick cloud of smoke.

"Neo..." he growled, his voice deep enough to shake my organs. "I didn't come here for a spa day."

That's it. Maybe it's time I started writing my own will.

I nervously scratched the back of my neck. "Well, you see, boss..."

"Neo," he interrupted, turning his head. His jaw tightened as his eyes met mine, his expression serious.

"You didn't pay the full amount last month. I let it slide and gave you until this month." He stared at me, completely serious. "So... where's my money?"

He wasn't lying. I missed the quota. My monthly requirement to this loan shark was 50k pesos—fail to hit it, and he just doubles the interest like it's a casual game of Monopoly. But this month? I didn't even have the base 50k, let alone last month's backlog.

I flashed him a weak, terribly strained grin. "Look, boss... business has been a bit slow..."

I stopped mid-sentence when the sound of him cocking the gun echoed through the room. My soul instantly left my body. I swallowed hard, my throat suddenly dry as a desert.

"What was that?" he asked softly, a terrifying edge to his voice. "Are you telling me you don't have it again?"

My debt? I thought bitterly.

I wish it were mine! I didn't even get to spend a single cent of those millions. My dad borrowed the money, died, and left me to deal with the mess he left behind.

Ugh, what a load of crap.

"Boss, I'm serious, tips have been terrible lately," I stammered, rubbing my neck awkwardly.

Antonio went completely silent. His beefy bodyguards didn't even blink, they just stood there like statues of doom.

Suddenly, Antonio pivoted on the couch. Before I could back away, his hand shot out and clamped around my neck like a steel vise, slamming me back against the sofa wall.

I didn't fight back. I chose not to.

His grip tightened around my throat, making it hard to breathe. I gasped for air, my breaths coming out weak and shaky. Then, my vision blurred, but through the haze, I could still see his eyes—filled with pure, unfiltered rage.

Just as my consciousness started fading, one of his goons stepped forward. "Boss...just friendly reminder, if you choke him to death, we don't get paid."

Antonio paused, then grunted and let go. I collapsed onto the floor, clutching my throat and violently coughing, greedily dragging sweet oxygen back into my burning lungs.

Damn it! Why couldn't he just finish me already?! I'd be peacefully resting in the afterlife by now!

"Don't test my patience, Neo," Antonio snapped, turning his back on me. "I know you don't care if you live or die. But remember... this isn't just about your life."

He walked out, while his silent army falling into line behind him.

My fists clenched against the floorboards. That bastard. He really seemed to enjoy blackmailing me. Threatening me was one thing, but dragging innocent people into it? Threatening Jude or my clueless neighbors? That was a whole different matter.

Tsk. Great. Now I'm accidentally responsible for the survival of people I barely even know.

I let out a long, exhausted sigh and stared at the ceiling. How the hell am I going to pull millions out of my ass now?

God, I hate this life.

---

"Yes! Go, babe! You're the best!"

"Whoooo! Kill 'em, Keith!"

"Go, idol!"

Screams echoed across Aling Susan's bakery. The local fan club was glued to the TV again, watching a PBA game and screaming for the exact same arrogant bastard who harassed me yesterday. I didn't know if it was a live game or a replay, nor did I care.

I just sat in the corner, peacefully dunking my pandesal into my cheap coffee like a tired old man.

"See, Jonard? I told you our idol is insane!" Cassandra bragged to Jonard, whose face looked like he had just swallowed a lemon.

"Tsk. Pure luck," Jonard muttered, keeping his eyes on the TV.

"Luck?" Sussie immediately turned to him, looking offended. "He just scored five times in a row!"

"Exactly!" Cassandra chimed in, pointing at the screen. "Look at his movement. He's on fire today!"

Jonard only rolled his eyes. "You two are seriously convinced he can do no wrong."

"Because he's good!" Sussie and Cassandra said at the same time.

Jonard shut his mouth, unable to counter-argue as the TV displayed the guy dominating the court.

Meanwhile, my blood was practically simmering. I hadn't forgotten what that jerk did to me yesterday. I honestly thought my punch would put him in a coma, but here he was, popping off on national television like he hadn't tried to assault someone twenty-four hours ago.

Tsk. He may have great ball control, he has zero self-control.

Seriously, if he knew his Alpha Rut was coming up, shouldn't he have downed a factory supply of suppressants instead of—argh, whatever!

I shook my head, trying to scrub the memory from my brain.

"Wait, why does he have giant bandages on his face again?" one of the girls pointed out.

I glanced up. Sure enough, two huge band-aids were plastered across his cheek, hiding the massive bruise I left him. Serves him right. He's lucky I was in a rush, or I would've redesigned his whole face.

"His vibe feels totally different today, though."

"Yeah! He doesn't look exhausted at all."

"Did he finally get a good night's sleep? Is his insomnia cured?"

Yes, girl. Your precious idol slept like a baby—and you should thank me for that.

"Wait, this is a replay, right?"

"Yep! Live game was last night. I just wanted to rewatch it because he looks so hot—even with the band-aids!" Sussie squealed.

"Hey, keep it down, will you?!" Jonard snapped, covering his ears.

The girls just rolled their eyes in sync. "You're just jealous, Jonard."

I stared at the screen, processing the timeline.

Wait... a replay of last night's game?

Hold on. An alpha's rut lasts for days. If his rut hit yesterday morning, how the hell was he sprinting across a basketball court by nightfall? Was he chugging suppressants like candy?

I groaned inwardly, dipping my bread again.

Man, I really should've put more weight into that punch.

"Stay on the floor. I'm taking a shower first," I ordered him as we stepped into my room on the second floor.I didn't actually rent the entire apartment, just a single room. It was a modest two story building with three rooms on each floor. My room was small and barely furnished. It had only a single bed, a study table tucked into the corner, and a small wardrobe where I kept my modest collection of clothes.I caught Helios scanning the room with his eyes.Shaking my head, I turned my back on him, grabbed a towel, and picked out a fresh set of clothes from the closet. The disparaging comments those guys made earlier, especially Yuan’s remark about my place, suddenly flashed through my mind. But honestly, I couldn't care less about what Helios thought of it either. I hadn't asked him to come in. He chose to come here on his own, so he could just deal with it.I went downstairs to my private bathroom and took a shower. A few minutes later, I finished up and changed into my sleepwear, a

"Helios?" I blurted out his name in utter disbelief.I couldn't believe that the guy who mess with my mind last night was standing right in front of me—right in front of my apartment. The corner of his lips was tilted upward, carrying an amused glint as he witnessed the sheer confusion etched on my face."What are you doing here?" I asked, bewildered, my voice sounding rather annoyed. Out of all the things that could ruin my already ruined day, it had to be this bastard who's also a headache."Why? Do I no longer have the right to visit my other half?" he replied, giving me a meaningful look.I narrowed my eyes at him. "I'm not joking around with you, asshole," I hissed at him. "Are you stalking me?" I asked while furrowing my brow.He ran a hand through his hair, and I didn't know why, but when he did that, I felt a strange sensation in my stomach. Under the moonlight, I saw a strange glint in his eyes."Yeah, I'm stalking you," he said, giving me a cheeky grin.I gritted my teeth an

"What?!" I uttered, completely unable to believe him. What was this bastard even talking about? Did the lack of oxygen to his brain from when I choked him earlier mess with his mind? The corner of his lips tugged upward. "Yeah, so I can make full use of your services. I'm paying you a pretty high salary, after all," he said, giving a light shrug.I narrowed my eyes at him. "You bastard! Do you feel like what I did to you earlier wasn't enough? Do you want me to use a rope around your neck next time?" I threatened him."Neo, why are you so against living with me? Remember, you are my personal assistant and I am the one paying your debts, so you should follow whatever I tell you to do," he said in a serious tone, completely devoid of any sarcasm, as if he genuinely expected me to obey him.My eyebrow arched at his statement. "Hey, I’m just your personal assistant, not your property, get it? Ha?!" I snapped back at him."Hey, stop it, you two. This might turn into another fight," Stephen

"Bro, I caught your game last night. You guys almost lost!" Marcus suddenly mentioned in the middle of the group's conversation. We were back at the same private club we went to last time, the one that turned out to be owned by Jeno. Once again, we were inside the private room, sitting on a curved couch with a glass table in the center filled with various drinks and bar snacks.I was sitting in the corner, and as usual, Yuan was right beside me. He didn't have his arm around me, but his shoulder was pressed against mine while he sat with his arms crossed.Out of the corner of my eye, I saw his brow furrow slightly at Marcus's comment about his performance last night."What happened, man? You were on fire at the start of the game, but by the end of the third quarter, it was like you completely lost your focus," Alejandro added.I saw Yuan clench his jaw. "I don't really know either. Maybe because I saw something unpleasant..." he said in a heavy tone.I felt confused because he suddenl

"No way…" I said, utterly unable to believe him.The corner of his lips curved up, casting me a mischievous look. "Just kidding," he blurted out suddenly.I gritted my teeth and glared at him before kicking his foot with my shoe. It left a smudge on his pants, but he did nothing except laugh at me."Hey, why do you look like you’re disappointed?" he asked with a mischievous, teasing look.I scowled at him, pulled the lollipop out of my mouth, and yelled, "In your dreams!"He shook his head, the smile still lingering on his lips. He then pulled a handkerchief from his pocket andbegan dusting off the pants where my shoe had left a dirt mark from the kick."If you wanted me to apologize for what I’ve done to your pants, you won’t get it, because you deserved it anyway," I told him, my voice dripping with annoyance to make my frustration clear. He just offered me a smile while looking down. "Don’t you worry, I came prepared," he said, raising his handkerchief.I merely rolled my eyes, red

  • THE OMEGA'S SWEET KARMA [MM ROMANCE]    CHAPTER 30: Lovers

7:00 P.M. I was sitting in one of the courtside seats lined up inside the arena. I sat right at the front, my eyes fixed on the court. Yuan was currently playing and it was the third day of the PBA games, and his team had already made it to the semifinals. It was already the third quarter, with the score sitting at 84 to 65. Yuan’s team was leading by a wide margin, probably because he was in peak physical condition today. How could he not be, after finishing several times earlier? The bastard didn't even give my hands a rest. Fucking dickhead, he was really so annoying! I originally had no intention of watching today's game, but he forced me to come, claiming he needed me here. In reality, he just turned me into his personal caddie, though it was actually my job. He made me carry his tumbler, towel, shoes, clothes, and whatever else was stuffed inside his duffel bag. When a timeout was called, I saw Yuan jogging over in my direction instead of heading straight to his team bench.
