I woke up a little before school ended to find a glass of water next to the bed, along with my phone and book bag. A thin blanket covered me, and the door separating the room and the office was closed to give me privacy.
I picked up my phone and saw texts from Daniel, Christine, and even Kylie.
Daniel:

Christine:

Kylie:

The bell rang, and I headed out, thanking Mrs. Green. She nodded and smiled at me.
I saw Daniel pulling at his hair while Kylie tried to calm him down.
“Kisses, where did you go? I was so worried. I’m so sorry. I—” Daniel started rambling, but I cut him off.
“I didn’t feel good, so I went to Mrs. Green. I’m fine now,” I said, giving him a fake smile.
“Kylie and Christine told me what happened. You know that’s not true, right?” Daniel said, and I nodded, still smiling.
Since Daniel had to be back for football practice, he was just going to bring me with him so I could get my car. I was going to the Green’s house after practice too, so we could all do homework together.
The ride went by pretty fast, and soon we were at the shelter, causing me to smile.
I walked over to Porsha’s pen, and she started wagging her tail when she saw me. I bent over and picked her up, bringing her outside.
I played with her a bit while Kylie and Daniel watched from a distance so she wouldn’t get spooked.
“You guys can come in now,” I said, sitting down and placing Porsha in my lap. She cowered into me when they came over but eventually got out of my lap and sniffed them. Progress.
“Try throwing the toy,” I said, and Kylie slowly picked it up, careful not to make any sudden movements.
She gently tossed it, and Porsha cautiously walked over, picked it up, and brought it back to me.
“Try putting your hand out, palm facing her,” I said. They followed my lead, and Porsha looked at me, then at them, then back to me before slowly walking over to sniff their hands. She sat between them, allowing them to pet her gently. A few minutes later, Kylie threw the toy again. This time, Porsha ran to get it and brought it back to her.
I clapped lightly, happy that she was starting to trust them.
“Thank you guys,” I said, pulling them in for a hug, making them laugh.
We filled out the adoption papers, and just like that, I was officially Porsha’s owner.
“Mom, Dad. We have the dog—and her owner—here,” Daniel called as we entered the house. I had Porsha tucked under one arm and Daniel’s arm around my shoulders.
“I’m coming, honey!” a voice shouted from upstairs—and I nearly dropped my phone when I saw the person.
“Kisses? Honey, is that you?” Mrs. Green—aka Tara Green, my mom’s old best friend—said as she came down the stairs. Memories of us with Kylie at the park came flooding back.
“You guys know each other?” Daniel asked, dumbfounded. A lightbulb went off in Kylie’s head.
“It’s so great to see you, honey. How’s your mother? I haven’t heard from her in forever,” Tara said, running to hug me. Porsha shrank into my side.
“Is this Porsha?” Tara asked.
“Alright, Mom. We’re going to go do homework,” Daniel said, giving me a look that clearly meant I’d need to explain everything soon.
We made our way to Daniel’s room while Kylie went into hers to take a phone call. Daniel’s room was not what I expected for a football player.
It was crème-colored with a low grey bed in the center. It was neatly kept—surprisingly neat, actually. Behind the bed was a huge action shot from one of Daniel’s football games that covered the whole wall.
“Whoa,” I breathed out as Daniel threw himself onto the bed.
“You can say that again,” I laughed, sitting next to him and pulling out my history book. Kylie walked in, staring at me like she’d just solved a mystery.
“How the fuck did I forget that?” Kylie said, wide-eyed.
“No fucking way. You’re Kylie’s childhood friend. You’re the one I had a huge crush on,” Daniel said, wide-eyed.
“Wait, what?” Kylie and I gasped at the same time.
Well… shit.
I have been Daniel Green for 7 years now. After our honeymoon we found out I was pregnant again and this time we had a little girl Christine Diane Green. was my beautiful little girl. One month after the weeding I drew in a long, slow breath to calm my nervous excitement as I lit the candle atop the chocolate cupcake I had secretly bought. I had made arrangements for it to be delivered while we were out sightseeing. Never in my wildest dreams had I ever imagined I would be in Maldives, let alone be enjoying my honeymoon there. Daniel and I had said our vows on the beach just days ago, surrounded by our friends. Now, we were alone, just him and I to start our new life as husband and wife. He was my husband. Just the thought sent butterflies into flight in my stomach. We were married. He was mine forever. I closed my eyes as his vows whispered into my ears in his delicious British accent. He had stared at me with those gorgeous green eyes and declared his never-ending love for me. Somehow, I had managed to stay standing while I melted inside. I had opted out of a big wedding dress. Instead, I wore a knee-length white dress. It was sleeveless and cinched at the w
Today's the day I marry again my love. It's been just over two years since I surprised Daniel with being pregnant with our second child and we decided to wait until after the baby was born to get married so I could could lose the baby weight. The girls were all in long navy blue dresses with lace on the neckline and the boys were in grey suits with a white shirt and navy blue tie. Daniel would be in a black suit and navy tie and the little boys would be in white button downs with suspenders while Athena
A year has passed by as I forged forward with a life I had once only dreamt about with Daniel. I came home from working at the hospital on a random weekday and opened the house door. I stepped inside and immediately noticed how eerily quiet the house was. "Daniel?" I called out as I took a step forward. He was supposed to be off today. My stomach dropped as I wondered if he had been called in. "Daniel?" I took another step forward when something crunched beneath my foot. I lowered my eyes to the floor and looked quizzically at the rose beneath my shoe. I slowly bent down and picked it up. I inspected the red rose in my hand, wondering what on earth it was doing there, as my eyes gazed across the floor of the condo. My breath caught as my heart beat rapidly as I stared at the trail of red roses laid out before me. I trembled with an excited anticipation as I began to follow the trail, picking them up as I walked. I followed their path to the back patio door. I slid the door open and
The much awaited day had finally arrived. Kisses Jackson would officially become Kisses Jackson Green and Daniel would finally marry the love of his life. All the big names in both the industries had arrived from all over the world to witness their union. Back in his hotel suite, Daniel was fidgeting with his cufflinks in anticipation and nervousness. After 4 years Kisses POV Finally, I have already finished college and have my own degree as a veterinarian. I am so happy that, despite the circumstances in life, I was still able to make my dream come true. My entire journey in college is not easy. It is like I’m on a roller coaster ride. Being far from my relatives and especially Daniel, is like I’ve been surviving. Daniel visits and sleeps in my condo once a week if he doesn’t have practice football. Despite all the hardships I have encountered, I am still thankful that there are people willing to extend their hand for help. Tomorrow is the day I have been waiting for. I am excited about having my diploma. I need to have beauty rest for tomorrow’s special event in my life. I wake up with a smile on my face. I feel mixed emotions: happy and sad. I am happy that my relatives and friends will be present on my special day. Sad because my parents will not be there. But still, I need to have happy vibes for my day. I quickly get a show
