Chapter Twenty-Eight

Andrea's POV

The building is tall. Like, embarrassingly tall.

I step out of the car and just stand there for a second with my neck tilted back, looking up at it. Glass and steel climbing so high into the sky that the top floors disappear into a thin haze. The whole thing gleams in the afternoon sun like it was built specifically to make people feel small standing in front of it. Which, knowing Tristan, was probably the point.

The entrance is all polished floors and high cei

Chapter Thirty-FourAndrea’s POVI wake up to the soft sound of a door opening and closing. My eyes flutter open slowly. The bed feels warm and huge, the sheets still carrying Tristan’s scent. I turn my head and see him standing in front of the tall mirror, knotting a deep navy luxurious tie easily like someone who has started practicing it since five, and could probably do it blindfolded. I stare at him for a moment, fully awake now but not ready to admit it.God, this man.Even first thing in the morning, he looks like he stepped out of a magazine. Perfect freshly shaved jaw, sharp shoulders, the way his shirt hugs his chest… It's unfair. How can one person be this hot? Like maybe he was a Greek god in his past life and decided to come back as a billionaire just to ruin innocent girls like me. Genuinely, it should not be legal to look like this by whatever time it is now.I stir under the covers and sit up, letting out a small whine.“It’s the weekend,” I say, my voice still sleepy

  • THE PRICE OF BEING HIS    His soft side

Chapter Thirty-ThreeTristan’s POVThe house is too quiet when I finally get home. The quiet hits differently from the usual emptiness I come home to. I loosen my tie and check my watch as I head up the stairs. It's past nine. The meeting dragged on longer than I intended, but my mind kept drifting back to Andrea the entire time. To the look on her face when she realized I was angry. To the way she looked when she walked out of my office. The bedroom door is slightly open when I get there. So I push it and stop in the doorway when I see that she's still on her knees exactly where I told her to be.Right beside the bed, her yellow sundress is wrinkled, her shoulders are slumped, and her head is bowed. She must have heard me come in because her head turns the moment I appear, and that's when I see it.Her eyes are red. Her cheeks are wet. She's been crying, not recently either, the kind of crying that goes on for a while and leaves a person quiet at the end of it.Something in my chest

  • THE PRICE OF BEING HIS    Get on your knees, Andrea

Chapter Thirty-TwoAndrea’s POVI am still trying to catch my breath, my body trembling on the desk, when the phone starts buzzing again. It won’t stop. Another two messages come in right after the first ones.“Andrea,” Tristan says, a warning edge in his voice as he flips me onto my stomach and pushes back into me. “Check your phone.”“Ah, Master… it’s not important,” I whisper, my voice shaky. I don’t want anything to ruin this moment. I just want him to keep fucking me, to keep owning me like this. “It can wait…”Tristan doesn’t listen. He slows his thrusts to shallow, teasing strokes and reaches for the phone with one hand while the other stays on my hip, holding me in place.“Check it,” he orders, voice low and firm. “It won’t stop buzzing. Answer it.”I hesitate, but the tone in his voice leaves exactly zero room for argument. I pick up the phone with shaky fingers and open the messages. They are from Marcus Laurent.*Still thinking about what I said?**You should be.**He's not

  • THE PRICE OF BEING HIS    Ruined by him

Chapter Thirty-oneAndrea's POV The city is still down there, completely unbothered.Good for the city honestly, because I am very bothered, in the best possible way.He drives into me slowly, and holy fuck, I feel every inch, how much harder he is after making me beg, how much he enjoys every millimeter of movement. I arch my back, desperate to take him all the way, until my ass is flush against his hips and the obscene sound of skin on skin fills the office with every thrust. His hand holds me at the hip so tightly I think he might leave bruises, but I don’t care. I want the bruises. I want to think about them later when I’m alone in bed and he’s not there. The other hand climbs up my back, grabbing my hair in a fist and pulling me up so I’m half-standing, half-flattened over the glossy surface, my bare breasts and stomach pressed into the desk.Tristan’s mouth hovers at my ear, his voice a low, deliberate growl: “You’re not going to last, are you?”I don’t even pretend otherwise.

Chapter ThirtyAndrea's POVHis mouth on my neck should be illegal. That's the only coherent thought I manage before my brain more or less clocks out and leaves my body to handle things on its own. And my body, traitor that it is, handles it by leaning back into him like we have all the time in the world and this is completely normal behaviour for a Wednesday afternoon. He turns me around to face him and kisses me properly and I kiss him back, matching him, not holding back the way I sometimes do when I'm nervous. Today I'm not nervous. Today I came here on purpose and we both know it so there's no point pretending I didn't mean to end up exactly here.He makes a low sound against my mouth that tells me he notices the difference. His hands move to the desk behind me and in one smooth motion, folders and papers and whatever else was sitting there goes sliding to the side. He lifts me effortlessly, setting me on the edge of the now-cleared desk. The wood is cool beneath my thighs, very

  • THE PRICE OF BEING HIS    Naughty girl

Chapter Twenty-NineTristan's POVThe meeting is not going well.It hasn't been going well for the last forty minutes, which is how long we've been sitting around this table going back and forth about a logistics acquisition that should have been straightforward three weeks ago.The problem is that nothing involving Laurent stays straightforward for long. His team put in a competing bid two days ago, a number that makes no business sense unless you're willing to bleed money for the first eighteen months just to block someone else from winning. Which is exactly the kind of move Marcus makes when he wants to get under my skin more than he wants to turn a profit. It's working. I won't give him the satisfaction of knowing that, but it's working.“The revised offer puts us at a twelve percent premium over current valuation,” my head of acquisitions is saying, pointing at something on the screen behind him. “If Laurent is serious about matching that then frankly they're overpaying and we le
