Nora woke up covered in a sweat. She couldn't help but let out a sharp groan from her lips as she ran her hand over her face. She squinted her eyes as she looked around the room and tried to adjust her vision.
She cursed slightly under her breath when she was quick to come to the realization that she had only managed to sleep for a few hours. She sighed as she slowly sat up in the lumpy mattress. She clicked her fingers and watched as the red glowing light in her hut came alive. She glared at it in irritation as it seemed theee faus that it almost constantly showed her emotions of distress.
She made her way out of bed as she realized that it was as good a time as any for her to get up and start working on some of her spells. It helped her avoid the other coven witches and she was able to train without being ridiculed.
Freak
Orphan scum
Weirdo
Treason’s daughter
The names went on. Only the tip of the iceberg of the names that she seemed to be called. And yet she still refused to believe that her father could have been the one they claimed. The witch that they whispered about in the corridors, the one that had gone mad and had tried to take over the coven.
There had been a time that Nora had wanted to believe the rumors; it would have allowed her to feel anger or even slightly upset with him but she knew her father would never do that to himself.
He would never do that to her.
And yet now even in his death they wouldn't allow her to rest. Even still they gave her the stares and glared at her as she walked down the halls. To them she might as well have been a monster too.
And now her father was gone. It had been almost a year since he had taken his last breath and left her with his parting words. She shouldn't have been the one to give up so easily. She had spent months looking for the crystal orb and yet like a coward she was forced to hand it over in exchange for her protection.
Zoran was a man of his words and he had agreed to spare her life but there had still been multiple occasions when she had been brought to the brink of death by his men as well as the rest of the coven. Her hut had been moved to the very edge of the kand and she knew all too well that any sane person would have accepted their fate but she knew something wasn't right.
Zoran had claimed that her father had tried to poison and kill him in order to take over the coven and bring it under his rule. Nora had laughed weakly when he had made the announcement. She didn't see why anyone would believe that. He was a powerful man no doubt but he had never acted in offense. And yet Zoran seemed to have everyone around him convinced otherwise.
She knew deep down that it had been a lie entirely but there had been a moment when even she had faltered. But if he had been able to go as far as to frame her father of w crime he had not committed and go as far as to soil his name even in his death it made her wonder what else he was hiding.
She knew she had to be discreet about it and that she was constantly under the watchful eye of Zoran and his men. That was why she had made the decision to keep to her side of the land.
She needed to get back the crystal, ever since she had surrendered it she had felt an unsettling deep in her stomach she wasn't entirely sure what it meant but it was as though it was calling out to her.
She had thought that she would be able to push it away and shrug it off at first but then she started getting nightmares. They tended to take on different forms but in the end the ending was always the same. It ended with chaos and destruction and at the very heart of it all was the orb.
Once again it was the thong that had woken her up but for some reason today had felt different. The incessant need for her to find the orb and have it back in her possession was even stronger than before. She found herself walking out of her camp and heading towards the largest tent that was located in the center of the coven.
She gulped as she tried to find the right amount of courage for her to go through with what she had to do. She didn't know where it was but a part of her told her that it would be down in the cellars. The cellars was the codename given to the largest store of books in the coven.
It wasn't heavily guarded as Zoran liked to use it in order for him to finally be able to boost his ego. He didn't think that there was anyone that would have been stupud to dare try and mess with him.
And yet here she was risking it all as she began to pass by his tent. She had almost walked past the tent when she froze as she heard her name being called from inside.
“What are we going to do about her.” She heard the second ask. “What do you mean? She is nothing more than a pesky child. We took care of her father. That is the most important thing.” Zoran said firmly and she felt her chest rumble at the way he mentioned her father.
“What if she finds out what you had planned and that it was you that had him killed,” she felt her body freeze as it felt like cold water had been poured over her. She had her suspicions at first but she had tried to convince herself that it wasn't true.
She had wanted to live in bliss for just a few moments longer. She didn't know what to think at that moment but the first thoughts that came out of her mind was why. Why would he be so cruel and wicked so much so that he would go ro such a great length as to dispose of him.
“She is not to worry about. He may be strong but she is also just as foolish as her father.” He spat and she felt as her body trembled as a sense of anger came over her. They talked so lowly of him and in such callous tone as they regarded bety little of him. The very thought angered him and she knew now more than ever what she needed to do was to get revenge.
She stayed there for a moment longer as she heard them converse and she heard them make mention of the upcoming coven seremont it was a even that the whole coven was ordered to participate in. It ensured the continued cycling of the powers within the community and it was considered to be one of the greatest events for the people. She would have to participate this year. The only reason that she was given an excuse the previous read was because of what had happened. It was then that a plan had started to formulate in her head. She now needed to find the location of the orb more than ever. She wouldn't allow this man to take over her life and get away with it anymore she knew she would have to take the right action against him and now was as good a time for her to do that as any.
She is pulled out of her thoughts as she feels a tug on her heart and she spotted a blue glowing light in the distance. It was only then that she felt a sense of triumph come over her.
It was her time to show them who was the real monster.
Nora readjusted the spaghetti strap of her dress as she groaned in frustration. She opened up a small portal to take in her appearance in the mirror as she took a fleeting moment to take in the crisp white lace dress. She knew that the event was just a formality and although she found it demeaning that she was forced to wear white to represent her purity and mauden status she had to admit that the dress did look good on her.She could almost feel her body erupt with excitement as she thought back to the ceremony. It was finally going to be over and she would expose Zoran as the traitor and the coward he was in front of the people. She only hoped that when she revealed his true colors and the true extent of his power the people would side with her and they wouldn't cower away out of fear. She knew that she had to be brave, there were surely those that would call her word nothing more than the ramblings of a desperate woman but what she had seen in that orb was enough for her to believe
There is only so much patience that one can endure before they feel the urge to pull their hair out. Nora knew that what she had done was ambitious to say the least. She had looked in the eye of what was supposed to be some sort of a supreme leader and She had basically told him that she didn’t care. that she was well aware of what they were doing. She knew that it would get her killed but she also knew that Zoran wasn’t willing to risk it .Essentially she had poisoned the fountain. it was his one source of power aside from the orb. It was something that he still didn't fully understand how to use, the truth was that she was the only one who could uncover its secrets and now without the fountain they were at a disadvantage. It wasn’t only Zoran who relied on its power but the coven as a whole. She wasn’t sure how to feel about it. Being responsible for it but she wasn’t going to apologize for what she had done. It wasn’t her fault. They had made their bed and it was time for them to l
His heart was racing against his chest. He could smell the thick smoke that surrounded him. His heart beat frantically as he tried to make out the scene that was around him. But he couldn’t see anything. He watched as a moment later the room was illuminated with light and he wished that he could go back and make it stop.He was met with the sight of the packhouse on fire. He was on his knees as he heard several screams coming from inside the house. He looked towards it frantically as he saw several silhouettes through the glass. He felt his heart race as he tried to get up but he was weak. He felt the whisper in his ear as he tried to say what it was. He didn’t want to think too much about it as she tried not to be bothered by it all as he let out a sigh from her lips as he tried to make his way over towards it. He huffed as he ducked it in and tried to make himself calm.He let out a sigh from his lips at the very thought as he tried to calm himself. He heard his name being called fr
Samuel was nervous. He woke up with a deep pounding in his head early in the morning and he wasn’t sure how to react. It was from his Alpha and he made it clear that it was urgent that he came over. He felt his heart beating frantically against his chest as he raced to his feet in a rush to find out exactly what it was that the alpha wanted. He wouldn’t put it past him if it was to go on another errand run for the Luna. Although everyone around them seemed to have the Luna , he wasn't entirely her biggest fan. He didn’t know why and he couldn’t quite put his finger on it but he had never really settled well with the fact that the alpha had chosen her as his mate rather than waiting for his actual mate.It wasn’t his place to say anything but his believed mates were a sacred thing and they weren’t something that was meant to be messed with. It was as though he was throwing away all the principals that their pack was built upon and no one seemed to care. Everyone else seemed to love her
He watched as her head fell back against the chair as the girl fell unconscious. He had today that there was a part of him that was slightly impressed that she was able to make it this long. At least that was how he felt. He let out. A sigh from his lips as he shook his head at the thought and tried to keep himself composed. He turned to the side and looked towards Trent before gesturing for him to move closer. “I want her packed up and put back in her cell. One meal for today. I don’t need her dyeing on me just yet, I haven’t gotten enough blood that I want. I am going to need more. “ he said and he watched as the figure beside him trembled slightly as his hands shook. He wondered what it was but he didn’t bother to say anything to him.“Well, I wanted to ask you, sir. how much longer are you going to keep her here.” He asked and he couldn’t help but grit his teeth at the sheer audacity of the man. “It doesn't matter what I want. You will do as I say. .now pick her up and so as you a
“Well, we need one of your healers to come with me to my pack. My alpha is willing to pay his weight in gold in order for your best healer to come along with us. Also if you would be so kind I would need someone to help me with this wound.” The man said Zoran didn’t show the sympathy that the man had expected. Instead he looked towards him with a calculating gaze as he placed his hand in his chin and appeared to be deep in thought.“So what would you then be offering? You say that you are going to do all these things but the truth is that we don’t need gold. We have more than enough of it. In fact we have witches who can make their own gold.” he said to him barely. “Well if you give us the right witch I am certain that the alpha is willing to pay any price.” He said and that only caused Zoran to grin brighter. He didn’t like the tone that his words were taking and he had to admit that he was a fan of desperation as well.He let out a sigh from his lips as he ran a hand through his hai
Nora was brought back to her senses when she felt a loud banging against her head. She groaned as she was able to slowly pull her eye open and found herself sitting in a chair. It was a large office and she realized that it was that of Zoran. She widened her eyes instinctively as she became alert all of a sudden .”Relax, everything is going to be alright.” She heard a voice call out from beside her, she turned to her side as she came face to face with a tall man.He seemed eerily familiar in that moment and she widened her eyes in shock as she let out. A gasp from her lips as she remembered what had happened earlier. How they had come into her cell and pulled her out. Instinctively she turned towards the front as she spotted Zoran sitting in his chair staring at her with great caution in his gaze. she couldn't help but wonder what was going on and what it was that he was playing at. “What is going on here?” she said to herself asking in a shaky voice. she watched as he grinned at h
Nora wasn't prepared to leave. She had been trapped in that basement for over a month because of a rash decision that she had made on a wim.She wanted to tell herself that she felt bad or that she regretted it but the truth was that she didn't. Zoran had been playing with the ends of the people for far too long. And it was time for them to take charge. They were being brainwashed and they hadn't even realized it yet.The only downside was that now she was the only one with any power left in the pack. She was the only one who could descend them as weas heal. She had been taught by the greatest healer in the land and that was her father. She knew most of what he did and much more because she had gotten control of the orb and now it was up to her to gain control of things. She made her way out of her small hut that was positioned in the corner of the land. She couldn't believe that she was finally leaving. When she had pictured herself leaving it wasn't like this. She had thought tha
