57. THE TRAP

The next few days in the pack were crazy. News of the death was brought to the palace every day at least three times. We had been infiltrated by the rebels and they were not merciful in the tinniest bit towards our people. It was as if they had been waiting for the chance to attack and wipe us out, but our soldiers were doing a fantastic job in making sure the attack’s result was minimal.

I was coming back from a meeting when I met one of the maids sobbing across the palace’s corridor as she held onto her right hand. The other maid by her side also held her to support her frame and that caught my attention as they walked down to the other side.

I stopped to observe them a bit before I called their attention to figure out what exactly was happening.

“Call them for me” I commanded, and my head aide didn’t waste any time before calling them over.

“What is this about?”
