The next few days in the pack were crazy. News of the death was brought to the palace every day at least three times. We had been infiltrated by the rebels and they were not merciful in the tinniest bit towards our people. Helena had set up one of the maids working for her for the job. She had recently caught her in the act of spying on her and giving reports to Amy and pretended not to notice till she was ready to deal with her. While she was making her plan, she also figured out that she would be the perfect person for the job. Using her crime against her, she was able to send her on the mission of stealing the diamond necklace from the room. “You will steal the necklace during dinner and place it in Amy’s chambers. Then, after dinner, you will go back and pretend to steal the fake one I will be placing in replacement of the stolen one. At the point of moving out, collide with a flower vase to cause an attraction and then run for your life. At the order of Alpha Draco, the guards rushed to where Amy was sitting on the ground and lifted her to position her on her knees. She struggled for a bit but soon gave up since she was easily overpowered by the strong men. Helena smirked as she strode to her front so they could see eye to eye, a happy grin crawling to the corner of her mouth because of her successful plan. She wasn’t sure if she would fall into the trap in the first place, but since habits hardly die, she was able to lure her in without even getting involved directly. “You know I didn’t do it, why are you doing this to me?” Amy cried out to her as she approached where she knelt down. She shrugged. “There is no evidence that you didn’t do it” was her reply. Amy went silent for a second before screaming “Check the CCTV! It should be there.” “Unfortunately, the CCTVs have been under maintenance since yesterday so they are down. I guess you are the only one who didn’t know” she replied. Amy’s shoulders dropped. It

“Get your filthy hands off me right this instant!” Amy yelled at the maid who was stripping off her royal robe. “Stay still, I can’t get the buttons out” one of the maids remarked, struggling to keep her still. Before anyone could blink, a harsh slap landed on the maid’s right cheek and a wave of silence swept through the entire room as the maids all paused at her reaction. Chief Kinn, who was sitting at the side of the room, stood up at that instant and walked closer to where they were standing. Everyone waited for her to talk about what had just happened but she just stood there for a while, glancing from one person to the other. At the twinkle of an eye, a loud whoashing sound was heard across the room and everyone was bewildered. The maids turned their necks to see Amy holding onto her cheeks in horror and their eyes bulged at the scene. Beta Gray sent a notification to all tribes to gather in the meeting room so as to update them about the latest developments in the pack and also about the punishment of the third tribe. All the elders and other officials trooped into the palace a few minutes before the set time and they all assumed their various seats inside the large hall while waiting for both Alpha and Beta, who walked in at the last minute. “Accept our greetings, Alpha Draco”. They all stood up to greet him, bowed and took their seats at the wave of his hand. Without wasting any time, the Beta walked forward to read out the reason why the meeting was suddenly called, since it was not the time of the month when meetings are held. After the session of cold words from Helena, she left him standing in the corridor to play with her baby who had just finished having his meal. For a slight second, she wanted to feel bad about all that she had said to him outside but quickly kicked against it. “It didn’t do anything wrong. He rejected me at first, he didn’t even hear me out. I have no cause to worry about him now. I will only focus on my job”, she assured herself before holding onto her baby who was seeking her continuous attention. **** Even though Amy had been trying her best to adjust to the palace’s work, it had not been easy for her. She couldn’t sleep well most nights due to intense body ache, the extreme stress was telling on her body since she wasn’t used to it in the first place. She tossed and turned all night on her bed and when she couldn’t bear the restlessness, she sprang up to take a walk outside. She strolled a long way in the palace through the cold night till she got to the large yard behind the

Alpha Draco had trouble sleeping but didn’t want to touch the tea that was sent over yet without getting it checked, since he was wary of what he consumed, the palace was a scary place, so he had to be very careful. Seeing how he still couldn’t sleep deep into the night, he opted for the ceremonial wine he had gotten from the third tribe instead and took a few glasses, which finally made him sleepy. He didn’t remember that several meetings were fixed for the next day and slept soundly till the Beta came to drag him off the bed where he was busy snoring. “I don’t think the Alpha should still be in bed when his subjects are on their way” Beta Gray scolded. Rubbing his eyes intensely, he managed to get out of bed and prepared for the meeting in time.
