The dark elevator cab shuddered violently as another heavy thud slammed onto the roof. Metallic screeching echoed through the shaft as the emergency cables groaned under sudden, massive weight.

"Serena, stay behind me!" Brandon commanded instantly. His amber eyes glowed brightly in the darkness as his Alpha power surged, his body shifting into a half-wolf combat stance.

With a deafening *CRACK*, the steel roof of the elevator was ripped open like a tin can.

A tall, broad figure dropped into the cramped space, landing gracefully on his feet. The emergency red lights flickered back on, illuminating the intruder's face.

It was Holt Lockford—Julian’s rogue uncle who had been banished from the territory ten years ago for high treason. He had scar tissue running down the left side of his face, and his dark eyes were wild with ruthless ambition.

"Well, well," Holt sneered, a wicked dagger flashing in his hand. "The long-lost princess of the Crestwood bloodline and the rival Alpha, trapped in a tiny box. What a lucky day for me."

"Holt," Brandon growled, his voice deep and lethal. "You dare attack us inside my corporate building?"

"I don't care about your building, Gilbert," Holt cackled. "I care about breaking my nephew. Julian took my throne ten years ago. Now, I am going to take everything he cares about. Starting with his precious pregnant mate."

Serena’s eyes narrowed. In her past life, Holt had been the silent monster operating from the shadows—the one who had ordered her execution after Jade failed to get rid of her completely.

"You were the one who helped Chloe," Serena said, her voice dropping into a dangerous, icy register.

"Smart girl!" Holt laughed. "Chloe was a useless idiot, but she served her purpose. Now, you’re coming with me, princess. Your royal blood will make a fine bargaining chip."

Holt lunged forward with supernatural speed, his silver dagger aimed directly at Serena’s throat.

Brandon moved instantly, throwing a heavy strike that blocked Holt’s blade. The two Alphas collided in the cramped space, throwing brutally fast punches that cracked the reinforced steel walls of the elevator.

"Serena! Get out through the top!" Brandon yelled, kicking Holt back against the control panel.

Serena didn't hesitate. Though wolfless, her body was light and agile. She leaped upward, grabbing the sharp edges of the torn roof, and swung herself up into the dark elevator shaft.

Below her, the sounds of vicious snarling and tearing metal echoed through the shaft.

Suddenly, a loud snap echoed from above. One of the main support cables snapped under the strain. The elevator cab dropped five feet instantly with a terrifying screech.

"Brandon!" Serena screamed, looking down through the hole.

Holt was pinned under a heavy beam, but he reached up, grabbing Brandon’s leg and dragging him down toward the open shaft edge below.

Before Serena could reach back down, a massive black wolf leaped through the open elevator door on the 15th floor above.

The wolf transformed mid-air into a man—Julian.

Julian landed on the top of the elevator cab with a heavy thud. His suit jacket was gone, his shirt sleeves rolled up, and his grey eyes were glowing with absolute, murderous fury. He caught Serena by the waist with one arm, pulling her safely onto the stable concrete floor of the 15th floor hallway.

"Stay here!" Julian ordered, his voice echoing like thunder.

Without waiting for a response, Julian dived straight down through the hole into the collapsing elevator cab.

Seconds later, loud screams of agony from Holt echoed up the shaft, followed by the terrifying sound of snapping bones. Julian was tearing his rogue uncle apart with raw, brutal ferocity.

With a final, heroic effort, Julian shoved Brandon up through the roof opening first. Brandon scrambled onto the 15th-floor hallway, blood dripping from a cut on his arm, but otherwise unharmed.

Julian climbed out next, his hands covered in rogue blood. The remaining cables snapped, and the elevator cab plummeted into the dark depths of the basement, crashing far below with a deafening explosion of metal.

Serena stood in the hallway, her chest rising and falling as she looked at the two powerful men standing before her.

Brandon immediately moved to her side, pulling her behind him defensively. "I don't need your help, Lockford."

"Shut up, Gilbert," Julian growled, wiping the blood from his knuckles with a handkerchief. He took a heavy step toward them, his grey eyes locked onto Serena with terrifying intensity. "She is carrying my child. You think I’m going to let some rogue take her?"

"She is my sister!" Brandon roared, his amber eyes flashing gold. "She is royalty of the Crestwood Pack! She has zero obligation to you or your pack!"

Julian froze mid-step. His grey eyes widened as he stared at Brandon, then at Serena. "Sister? Royal blood?"

"It’s true," Serena said, stepping out from behind Brandon. Her voice was steady, her demeanor colder than steel. "I am Serena Sterling, daughter of King Alistair. My adoptive parents stole me when I was an infant to drain my family's trust fund. I have no ties to the Vance family, and I have no ties to Mystic Falls."

Julian looked as if he had been struck by lightning. The realization that the woman he had treated like a worthless, wolfless Omega was actually the highest-ranking royal wolf in the entire continent hit him like a physical blow. The shame in his eyes was overwhelming.

"Serena..." Julian whispered, his voice cracking with deep, painful emotion. "I... I didn't know. In the past... I thought I was protecting you from my enemies by keeping you at a distance. I thought if people knew you were my weak spot, they would kill you..."

Serena let out a cold, bitter laugh. "Protecting me? You protected me by letting Chloe humiliate me every single day? By signing divorce papers in my past life? By letting me die in the rain?"

Julian’s face went dead pale. "What... what do you mean, past life?"

Serena’s eyes flashed with a sudden, mysterious purple hue—a mark of royal magic awakening within her blood.

"You don't get to ask questions, Julian," Serena said coldly. "You lost your right to be in my life the moment you chose Chloe over me."

"I am not letting you go," Julian rasped, stepping closer despite the guards pointing weapons at him. "I don't care about the royal titles. I don't care about the pack rivalries. You are my mate, Serena. I will tear down my own kingdom if that’s what it takes to earn your forgiveness."

"Then start tearing," Serena replied without a shred of mercy. "Because you have a long way to go."

She turned and walked down the hallway with Brandon, leaving Julian standing alone amidst the blood and ruined steel.

Three days later, the news of Serena’s true royal heritage exploded across all wolf territories. The Vance family was arrested by royal guards for child abduction and high treason, stripped of all assets, and sentenced to life in maximum-security pack prisons.

Chloe, destitute and abandoned, was banished to the rogue wasteland, her name ruined forever.

In her luxurious suite at the Crestwood Royal Manor, Serena sat by the fireplace, drinking warm chamomile tea. Her life was finally her own. She was rich, powerful, respected, and safe.

Brandon walked into the room, holding a thick golden envelope.

"A delivery from Mystic Falls," Brandon said, handing it to her.

Serena opened the envelope. Inside was an official document stamped with the royal Lockford seal.

It was a total surrender deed. Julian had officially transferred 50% of Lockford Enterprises into her name, along with a formal rejection of his Alpha crown, handing full authority of Mystic Falls over to her. Attached was a handwritten note in his sharp handwriting:

*Everything I own is yours. My pack, my fortune, my crown. I am leaving for the Northern Mountains to complete the Royal Trial of Atonement under the full moon. If I survive, I will return to beg for a second chance. If I die, everything belongs to our child.*

*— Julian*

Serena stared at the note, her fingers gripping the paper tightly.

Suddenly, a sharp, violent cramp seized her lower abdomen. Serena gasped, dropping her tea cup as it shattered on the floor.

She looked down. A small trickling trail of dark blood was running down her inner thigh.

"Brandon!" Serena cried out in sudden panic, clutching her stomach as darkness began to edge her vision. "The baby!"
