October 28, 1799...

Prince Dalleon was restless as he heard the cries and screams of his wife, Princess Lovera, who was giving birth to their second child. The midwife had been assisting her for nearly an hour, but the baby had yet to come out.

“My love, stay strong. Everything will be fine once you bring Zaitan into the world,” Prince Dalleon called from outside the door.

“I can’t do this anymore! It hurts so much!” his wife sobbed, followed by another painful scream.

Unable to bear it any longer, the prince pushed open the door and went to his wife. The midwife was shocked—he wasn’t supposed to enter, as only the midwife and the mother were allowed in during childbirth.

“Your Majesty, why—” Tes, the midwife, began to protest, but Prince Dalleon interrupted.

“Forgive my behavior, Old Tes, but I can’t stand hearing my wife scream like that. I want to be by her side as she brings our child into the world,” said the prince.

October 1804…The white children played joyfully as the gentle breeze of the cold wind brushed against them that day. The citizens of the Kingdom of Sadan were busy preparing for the war that would take place the next day, but unknown to them, the black vampires would attack that very day. The blacks sought revenge for the assault once launched by the whites, an attack that claimed the lives of thousands of their people. Along with those deaths came the gradual loss of their wealth, their weapons of war, and their trusted leaders.Former Supreme Kaigan looked around the surroundings, deep in thought. He could not understand why the wind brought him no comfort. Each time it touched his skin, it carried a foreboding chill. His gaze drifted to the goblet before him, filled with fresh human blood. His eyes remained fixed on it when he noticed the red liquid beginning to ripple. When he looked at the large gate, it suddenly collapsed. A dark sorcery spread acro

Year 1804… Prince Zaitan’s gaze was fixed on Rycon as the two of them circled each other. The duel between them was about to begin, a long-honored tradition among vampires. Before a prince could be crowned as the Supreme, he needed to defeat his own right hand in a bloody duel. The prince’s right hand also needed to survive the match to officially assume his position. At that moment, Prince Zaitan’s nerves were at their peak. He knew how skilled and powerful Rycon was, and he had no assurance that he would win. At the first clash of their swords, both of them were forced backward. But Rycon was shocked when Prince Zaitan’s blade grazed his finger, and blood immediately spilled. Only the Prince of the black vampires, Prince Zumir, possessed the ability to heal his own wounds, yet Rycon—Prince Zumir himself—was stunned when the cut on his finger did not heal. Bright red blood dripped onto the dry soil from the deep gash. Prin

Only a few months remained before the war between the black and white vampires would finally take place. The citizens were tirelessly training with the weapons he had reclaimed from the whites. Rycon had decided to bid farewell to the parents who raised him, as well as resign from his position in the kingdom as Prince Zaitan’s right-hand man. He wanted to devote his full attention to their impending attack. When he felt the cold wind brush against him, the prince closed his eyes. His thoughts wandered to his beloved Misan and to what had happened between them. He knew there was a chance it might bear fruit. He wanted to leave Misan with at least a memory of him, a reminder that a Rycon had once stepped into her life. It had been two days since they last saw each other, and he had not sent even a single letter. He missed her deeply, but he knew it

Year 1804...The weather seemed to conspire with Misan’s emotions. The young woman could not erase the wide smile on her face because at dawn that very morning, Rycon came to her home and invited her to bathe in a spring surrounded by many kinds of flowers. Misan was overjoyed, not only because of the moment they shared, but also because Rycon proposed marriage to her. She had not yet told her parents, waiting for the right time.“May I speak with you, Misan?” Misan’s smile vanished at once when she heard the voice of Prince Zaitan from behind her. She closed her eyes, sighed, then fully turned to face him.“Good morning, Your Highness.” Misan bowed respectfully.“May I speak with you, even for just a moment?” Prince Zaitan asked again.Misan nodded, and in an instant she dropped the rag she was holding as the Prince used teleportation. They were suddenly in the Dead Lands, once the territory of the black vampires. Prince Zaitan kept his eyes on Misan while she looked around at their s
