Grayham POV

For the first time since the incident, I felt a sense of calmness starting to envelop me. Miles said he could get us to see the author which meant that we were getting somewhere.

I folded my arms across my chest. “Did you book an appointment or what? You’re sure we could meet him tomorrow?”

I watched Miles stroll to the counter then he began to feel the countertop with the back of his hand as if it were a valuable possession. He must have missed this place while I was stuck here, dying to get out.

He turned to me after resting his body on the counter. “I got his email address. It was attached to the article and I sent him an SOS email.”

“SOS email!” I spat with a sneer.

“I’m not an illiterate.” Miles fired back.

“Okay,” I replied. “Carry on.” I was now tapping my left leg impatiently.

“He sent me a reply a while ago saying we could meet him tomorrow night. I had highlighted our situation.”

I sighed. “Where do we see him tomorrow night?”
