Grayham’s POV

It’s Saturday which means I don’t have to be at the office. The last time I checked, my session at the company which was supposed to last for a week ended yesterday so I’m back at the café.

I must say the past week was one of the best weeks I’ve had since the switch. I don’t want to sound selfish but I wish my Grandpa would give me a call to say that Miles needs more time to recover so I should continue running things at the company.

With twenty days left to the final ritual, I need something to keep me off that thought.

“What are you thinking about?”

I sighed and turned to Max. He was standing right in front of me with a tray filled with dirty mugs. He dumped it on the counter.

“Nothing much,” I said.

Shirley doesn’t work weekends so Max is here to help with the serving. It’s a cold morning and the café is packed. Customers have been trooping in for coffee and tea to keep them charged for the day ahead.

“Those should go into the kitchen. They should be cleaned,” I told

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    THE INTRODUCTION

Mile’s POVI exited my room and made my way to the living room. Grayham’s grandpa was there with two domestic staff members: Chef Greg and his assistant. He had a sheet of paper in his hand, and it looked like he was addressing them.I walked up to him with a smile. “Hello, old man!”He turned to me with a smile. “Good morning, son,” then he darted his gaze back to the chef. “Greg and I were just making adjustments in the menu so perhaps you could recommend a few meals we should integrate,”I took the paper in his hands and almost rolled my eyes after reading the options. I’m a huge fan of healthy meals but a few cheat days won’t hurt.I tuned to the chef. “Could find somewhere to squeeze in some homemade fries, burgers, cakes, and maybe pizzas?”Grandpa turned to me. “You always get those in McDonald’s and you can place an order any time you want,”So Grayham always orders McDonald huh? I thought he was heavy on the carnivore diet. Well, a little cheat day won’t hurt.“I think I’ll p

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    IMPOSING

Mile’s POVGrayham shoved his plate to the side and stood up. “I’ll take my leave now,”His Grandpa and Victor were still eating. On my part, I was yet to regain my full appetite so a few spoonfuls left me satisfied. I also stood up. “I’ll ride with you. I could use some fresh air,”His Granpa turned to me. “You want to hang out in the neighborhood with Miles?“I shook my head. “Not really,”Not that the old man would have a problem with my hanging out with Grayham though. “I’ll just ride with them and head back with Sam,”“Okay,”When Grayham and I stepped out of the house, we spotted Sam leaning beside the jeep, which he had already pulled away from the parking lot. Granpa had already informed him that he’d be giving Grayham a ride back home, so he had been waiting. We walked to the car, got inside, and settled in the back seat.“Turn down the reflectors,” I said to Sam.He pulled down all the windows and started the car. I fell back on the car seat and inhaled the chilly air enter

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    NEW LEAF

Mile’s POVI was seated in the dining room together with Grayham and his Grandpa. Grayham had just dropped by the house with a file, Victor’s file. The day I learned about him, I assigned Henry to collect every piece of information he could on him. Look what we ended up with: a criminal record.I turned to Grayham. “Do you think he’s going to be here?” I could tell that Grayham was striving to keep his cool. He looks mad.Grayham nodded. “Of course, he’s going to be here. He wants this family’s validation so bad,” he stopped and cleared his throat. “I mean he wants your family’s validation so bad that he would be here,”Suddenly, the butler arrived in the dining room. He turned to Grayham’s Grandpa. “We have a situation. I just got word from the gate that the young man you’ve barred from setting foot here is at the entrance, claiming you invited him,”“Of course. Send him in,”The butler left. I turned to Grayham. “You’re right after all. He wants this family’s validation very badly,”

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    CRIMINAL RECORD

Grayham’s POV“Come in,” I responded after a knock landed on my door. I dropped my pen and looked up.Victor walked into the office.I didn’t invite him and the last time I checked, I had gone through his risk assessment document and gave him the right to go ahead with the rest of the project.Victor glanced at his wrist watch. “It’s almost lunch time so perhaps, I can come back some other time,”“No!” I replied almost immediately. I had no intention of taking the lunch break anyway. “Please, have a seat,”Victor pulled out the chair next to me and sat. I sighed heavily and wondered how possible it was for me to share the same space with him and not be overwhelmed by the feeling of strangling him.Looks like Miles is beginning to rub some of his goodness on me. On the other hand, Victor is not the kind of person who would sit and chat with me. As far as he’s concerned, I’m a bloody riff raff.Victor stationed his hands on the table. A few moments of silence passed between us. I could

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    NIGHT OF MISCHIEF

NIGHT OF MISCHIEFGrayham’s POVI narrowed my gaze to the empty bowl before me and when I turned, my eyes met with Miles.“Out of popcorn?” He smiled.“Yeah,” I dumped the empty bowl on the table beside me and fell flat on my back.Miles sighed and reached for the blanket. “Am I still sick, or is it the weather?” He began to stretch it.“You’re not the only one who is cold,” I said and reached for one end of the blanket.Miles and I slipped into the blanket, covering our whole bodies except our faces. We were about to turn at the same time but ended up colliding, our faces bumped into each other’s. We laughed and stayed in that position, our bodies gliding against each other.I began to take slow and even breaths because having Miles this close to me was already making me tense or should I say hard.I shut my eyes, forgot about the movie that was playing in the background, and slowly lay on my back. With my eyes shut, I placed my hands behind my head.Stay focused, Grayham!I shouldn’
