CHAPTER 5

Ryan remembered he had not seen Mrs Williams in about a week. On a normal day she would be seen in the kitchen getting something from the fridge every three days.

Her own room was ensuite.

She had her own kitchen, bedroom and washroom.

So Mrs Williams came out only when she needed something.

She had her own part of the mansion

Mrs Williams despised Ryan so he was not allowed on the woman's side of the mansion. Only the Williams sisters had the authority and permission to go there anytime they wished.

Ryan knew the woman did not like him just like her daughters but he was worried as to why he had not seen her for a long time.

He knew if he got to the woman's side of the mansion it was going to land him in trouble so he dared not , but after much contemplation he set off.

He took courage and went to the woman's side of the mansion. He walked to the door and gently knocked on the door. There was no response, he knocked again and there was no response.

He turned around to leave but he heard a very faint voice from inside. “ Come inside it's not not locked ” , the voice came

Ryan pushed the door gently and peeped, he could not see anyone , he entered the room and saw the woman lying on her bed.

Ryan thought she was going to shout at him or ask him to leave. But the woman kept calm. Ryan quickly scanned the room.

He noticed some dirty plates in the kitchen sink, some dirty clothes in the laundry basket and a bad smell coming from the washroom.

He noticed the woman's face was pale and he guessed all was not well.

He guessed there was something wrong with the woman.

He got closer to her and greeted her politely..

The woman only nodded.

“ Johnson please I'm not feeling well, I have had a terrible headache and back pain for about three days now and my daughter's have not been here for about four days, pls help me”. The woman pleaded in an almost inaudible voice.

Ryan quickly took his phone and dialed the emergency number. He directed the ambulance to the house and assured Mrs Williams everything would be fine .

He quickly exited the room and went downstairs to inform the Williams sisters about their mother's condition. The girls were nowhere to be found in the living room.

When he got out he noticed they had gone out with Adriana's Lamborghini.

Ryan took out his phone and dialed Alicia's number but she did not pick up. He dialed Geraldine's and the response was the same .

He dialed Adriana's and the result was still the same..

He dialed repeatedly and there was still no answer. Ryan was wondering what was going on.

Ryan stood at the gate still calling the Williams sisters when he saw the siren approaching.

He quickly opened the gate and within a few seconds the ambulance entered at top speed.

They came out with their stretcher and Ryan signaled them to follow him and they did .

He quickly went to the woman's room with the nurses closely behind him. Minutes later, Mrs Williams could be seen on the stretcher being wheeled into the ambulance .

Ryan joined the ambulance and they sped off taking the road to the hospital

The three ladies after much enjoyment decided to take a ride in Adriana's new car.

Alicia shouted Ryan's name but got no response, she shouted again this time louder than the first and still didn't get an answer.

She hissed and signaled to her sisters that they should leave .

Geraldine took the remote to open the gate while Adriana went to start the car and drove out in reverse.

She stopped outside the house to wait for her sisters.

She set a hip hop song playing through the car's tape and played it at maximum volume.

The two ladies joined her and she drove off at top speed leaving a cloud of dust on their trail.

The three ladies went to a restaurant and had lunch. They enjoyed themselves and drank heavily.

They then went to a night club and enjoyed themselves.

They drove back home late in the night all boozed.

When they got back to the gate of the house, Adriana honked severally but no one came to open the gate. Geraldine got down from the and staggered towards the gate.

She sluggishly opened the gate and Adriana drove in.

Adriana parked in and the the three girls who were not conscious if their environment staggered to the living room

Alicia wondered why the lights were out, nevertheless she switched it on and they all went into the room

They sank into the sofa and nobody knew when they dozed off

The driver of the ambulance sped off at top speed and they headed to the hospital while Mrs Williams was given first aid treatment in the ambulance.

On arrival at the hospital, the nurse wheeled out Mrs Williams and rushed her to the emergency ward. Ryan was not allowed in so he stood at the entrance of the emergency ward pacing up and down.

She called the Williams sisters again but there was still no response from any of them.

After about two hours of moving up and down he saw the doctor emerge from the emergency ward. Ryan tried to read the doctor's face any expression but there was none.

He ran up to meet him and asked

“ How is she? What happened to her? Is there anything I can do to help?” asked all questions at once

“ Easy young man, first of all she is fine and is responding to treatment. For your second question, I guess she had a headache from too much thinking, she was anxious, and she fell down and bumped her head. She did not act fast because I could see the place was swelled up. But once again she is okay and stable now” the doctor replied calmly
