Seeing my dad stand in front of my room as I rush to round up dressing is not a usual sight.

“This weekend was supposed to be just for us,” he said as he finally stepped in and sat on my bed, watching me.

“Dad, you know I wanted this weekend for us too, but…. something quite important called,” I said, putting a final touch to my powder.

“Something more important than our father-daughter hangout?” He asked with a pitiful look.
