Something about being free on this planet is anything one could wish for, and for me, I felt like I had tasted freedom for the first time in my miserable life.

As I ran through the woods, I felt free and at peace; I didn’t feel much pressure on my back, and I felt like that was the life I deserved to live: a life with no drama, a life with no pressure from the outside world, a life without having to follow the rules and regulations of a pack and all that, and most of all, a free life.

The woods weren’t the normal woods I was used to as a kid; I ran and ran, but I still found myself in the same spot. It was like a cycle that kept repeating itself, but I was determined to find my way out of it.

“You feel the peace, right?” My father’s voice rang in my head, and I stopped to catch my breath. What was he even doing in the woods? I asked myself this question before I finally stopped in my tracks to focus on his voice.
