Sofia's POV

The hostility in Julian's voice made me shake to my bones. The hatred in his voice was undeniable, and I wondered what I ever did to him in the past to warrant such hatred from him.

My eyes searched for his, blurred with tears but at the same time seeking answers. My lips parted to speak, but nothing came out from my mouth.

My throat choked with my words, and I looked at my mother, hoping she unravelled this mystery.

“Julian please enough! You can't keep doing this to your sister.” My mother yelled at him, but that got him even more furious.

“No mother, you can support her all you want. But I'm not going to accept it. This is insane! Father must have been delirious when he made this godforsaken will.” Julian retorted.

“This crippled girl can't even help herself to the bathroom. How the hell is she supposed to run a multi-billion dollar company?” He scoffed with his fingers on his temple.

“I'm taking this court. I will toil every legal process required, but I'm not goi

Sofia's POV “If there are no further questions, can we proceed to the next agenda of the day?” I asked with a wide grin on my face. The room suddenly fell quiet and they all turned their gazes towards me. “Uhmm..” Ricardo tried saying something but he was definitely short of words. “What about the market strategy…” he tried coming up with another question. “That was the first question you asked me. Would you like me to go over it again with you? You seem ignorant and it needs someone to lecture you.” I chuckled mockingly, giving him a taste of his own medicine. “I would gladly do that Mr Ricardo. After all, I'm the CEO of this company and it is my duty to do so.” I smiled as I spoke and his nose flared up in anger. “Oh my goodness!”“She has Ricardo by the neck.” “What are we going to do now?”“If Ricardo can't face her successfully, then neither of us stand any chance.” Their words flew in and out of my ear and it took a lot of self restraint for me not to break out in laught

Sofia's POV “You look absolutely breathtaking.” My mother complimented with a whisper to my ear as she wheeled me into the conference hall. “Thank you mother,” I responded, making sure to maintain my composure and smile. I had insisted on coming over here alone. I didn't want anyone to see me as a crippled spoiled brat who needs the help of others all the time. But my mother had refused bluntly. She said she wanted to be here to support and cheer me on as I make my first big move. Seeing how excited she was for me and all the efforts she had put in ever since I woke up. I thought it was only wise to grant her this request and not be so stubborn about it. For three days straight, I have been preparing for this meeting. After so much contemplation, I finally decided to have a board meeting and establish my place in the company. News has been flying all over about my brother's plan to sabotage and have all the executives on his side. I do not plan on engaging in any war with him,

I opened my eyes and it was night already. “Oh No!” I whispered in disappointment and quickly jerked off the desk where I had laid my head. I looked out the window and the sky had turned dark already. I must have dozed off. I yawned and picked up the document I had been reading. Since this morning when the boxes arrived, I have not moved an inch away from the library. Maids kept on bringing coffee for me to drink and my mother had to plead with me to at least have lunch. The door to the library pushed open and my mother was right there peeping through the door. This is probably the hundredth time she has come to check on me. “Mother, I'm fine. You don't have to treat me like a little child.” I complained and yawned. “Just look at you. Tiredness is written all over your face.” My mother complained and I scoffed. “And there you are, checking on me over and over again. That means you are as tired as I am.” I countered and she chuckled in defeat. “At least come down and have dinne

Sofia's POV “What did you say?” I swallowed the big chunk of fruit in my mouth and cleared my throat. I looked back at one of the maids standing behind me with her head bowed. “Yes Miss Sofia. The man had just arrived and requested your presence.” She informed me and I nodded my head. “Alright,” I said and dropped the fork I was holding. I wheeled out my chair and moved towards the entrance of the house. My mother and the maids followed behind me, not daring to help me. I had warned all of them, they are to help me only when I ask for it. “Good morning, Miss Estaban.” I heard a man in a suit greet me with a heavy smile and a bow. I could already sense he's one of the company executives and already looking for favour. When I had called the management team yesterday morning requesting for documents and reports from the last three years, he had volunteered to bring them himself. In his words, he wanted to supervise the transfer to make sure nothing missed. His excuse made sense to

  • THE WIFE HE BETRAYED, THE WOMAN HE FEARS   Santoro's Miserable Marriage.

Santoro's POVI threw my head back on the car seat and heaved a deep sigh as I tried to catch my breath. I looked out the window at the mansion that once brought me nothing but peace, but now I dread even stepping into the sitting room. Today was such a miserable day for me, and the only thing I need right now is some warm bath, hot food and the comfort of my wife's body. “Oh Sofia!” Her name slipped out of my mouth and I shut my eyes in frustration with my fist clenched together. Sure, I never loved Sofia. But at least she was more endearing. She would never scream at me or make me feel worthless. She never rubbed the help she offered in my face. There was always food at home, and I looked forward to coming home every night. I didn’t realise it then, but now I do. “I miss you terribly,” I muttered to myself, not bothering to keep lying. I finally stepped out of the car and retrieved my suitcase. My eyes fell on the documents on the other seat and I shrugged. This was the reas

  • THE WIFE HE BETRAYED, THE WOMAN HE FEARS   Learning to walk again.

Sofia's POV Marcus's voice reeled through me as I grabbed the edge of the bars, trying to stand on feet from the wheelchair. “You will never learn to walk again if you get too comfortable being crippled. And I'm sure you must have heard about me. I do not condone or tolerate laziness.” Marcus gritted. “Lazy people make my blood boil.” He said to me with a smirk, and I felt anger wash through me. His words were mocking, but at the same time, they were triggering. “Stand up and walk, Sofia!” He yelled at me, and my breath grew heavier with each passing moment I spent under his voice. My mother had introduced the idea of bringing in some instructors from the military. She said one of the doctors had suggested it to her. She asked for my opinion and I agreed right away. Even though my mother is willing to try all options to ensure that I walk again. She's not willing to risk my health at all. Even though I had insisted a million times, she kept reminding me not to pressure myself a
