"You must let me go to Edward's house and see Hunter one last time before he is buried."

“You can't. Mr. Edward will kill me if I let you go.”

“To hell with that damn man. I want to see Hunter. He's my brother."

Mila insists on going to Edward's house and attending Hunter's funeral which will be held this afternoon. She had spent the entire afternoon crying over Hunter and reminiscing about all the good memories they had made together. Why can life be so cruel to them? Mila muttered bitterly. It was like she never expected that she would face such difficult days.

"Sorry Mila, you can't go there. You must stay at home until Mr. Ezra is coming."

"Where is he now? I want to call him."

Mila lifted her chin haughtily and walked into the only room with a telephone line. Yesterday she had seen a telephone in the library. She wished the phone was still active and that she could talk to Ezra right away so she could get to Edward's house on time.
