FIFTY

This house has never been quieter. In fact, there is always the sound of screaming or howling laughter from his father or mother when they laugh at something. Hunter felt this silence suffocating him more and more. He sat alone in the dining room, eating pancakes and bacon that tasted bland in his mouth. His two hands gripped the knife and fork tightly, feeling angry at his pitiful state.

Finally he threw his fork and knife to the floor, letting the noise fill the silence that surrounded him. Next plates. He swept the entire table clean and shattered all the ceramic plates on the floor.

Hunter ruffled his hair in frustration. Shouted as loud as he could to release the sadness and anger he was feeling.

"You bastard Ezra! You damn bastard who should be dead!”
