Sophia's POV
"Hello? Who is this?" I press my phone close to my ears while taking out time to arrange Lucas' clothes carefully into his wardrobe."Julian Gray." The familiar deep voice replies. His voice sends chills down my spine causing the clothes in my hands to fall right to the floor. I gulp a lump down my throat as my heart begins to race extremely fast. I suddenly recall the night of the charity gala, the night I had sex with Julian.I mutter a cuss under my breath as I recall how one kiss with him had led to sex between us, worse of it all is that the next morning, I woke up in his room, on his bed. I had successfully sneaked out of his mansion and i thought I had gotten rid of him."Sophia, are you still there?" Something about the way he calls my name flutters my heart. I hastily snap out of my thoughts and respond in a cold tone. "How did you get my number?" I snap at him.I hear him laugh over the phone. "I have my ways but that does not matter, does it?" I imagine him raising his perfect brows at me. My goodness, what have I done to myself? How have I managed to fall for a stranger's charm? For starters, I do not even know who he is or why everyone were so afraid of him. I know he is someone influential but who is he exactly and why was he at the charity gala?"I am hanging up." I say hastily."No no no. Wait Sophia, are you not going to at least hear what I have to say?" Julian asks. I am actually curious. Why is he contacting me? "What do you have to say?" I ask. I hear him clear his throat and reply. "Can we meet? I mean talk over dinner? I know this famous restaurant, they make the best fries. You and I can meet up and talk about some stuffs." He says.Let me guess, he thinks I am some kind of lady who sleeps around. Well, can I blame him? I am the one who threw myself on his bed like some kind of slut. Of course I do not blame him for not having respect for me."Look here Mr Julian Gray, I do not care what kind of public figure you are but let me make things clear to you. What happened between us the other night was clearly a mistake. I was drunk and you were drunk. We got ahead of ourselves and had sex which I regret by the way. I am a married woman, I do not just hook up with people. Please forget about it and try not to reach me again." I say."Who said anything about us having sex?" He retorts. "I just want to talk to you about something important." My cheeks flush red in embarrassment and I mutter a cuss under my breath for being too ahead of myself. Seriously though, what is wrong with me? "I can not meet with you. Lucas has gotten overly protective of me. He does not let me leave the house, he could be back from work any moment from now." I say."Do not worry about Lucas. I am his boss anyways, he has a lot of work to do today. You might not be seeing him until tomorrow." Wait, what? Julian Gray is Lucas' boss? So wait a second, Julian is the new CEO of Anderson Enterprise? Damn it! I am in serious trouble. How did I manage to have sex with Lucas' boss? I hope Lucas never has to find out."Fine, I will only spare you some minutes of my time. Text me the address and I will be there." I reply. In less than a minute, Julian texts me the address which is not all that far from the house. I meet with Julian at the famous restaurant and he was right, their fries do taste really good."Thank you for meeting me Sophia. You look extremely stunning this evening." Julian stares at me. I suddenly feel uncomfortable by his compliment. I mean I am literally putting on a basic dress. What makes me so pretty?"I guess you are not used to getting compliments from your husband." Julian points out. It is almost as if he can read my mind or see right through me.I clear my throat. "Let us get straight to the point. I told you I only have some minutes to spare. What important thing do you have to tell me?" I ask. Julian clears his throat and adjust his posture on the chair. "I want you to divorce your husband." He says, so confidently. My face goes blank. What does he mean by that? Rather why is he asking me to do that? A moment of silence falls between us as I contemplate on the right words to say."Look, I do not know what is wrong with you or why you would ever ask me to do that but I think you need to stay in your lane. Do not ruin my marriage. I beg of you. Stay away from me and mind your own business." I rise to my feet and snatch my purse from the table. Surprisingly, Julian does not stop me, instead he watches me with a poker face."Thanks for the food, do not contact me again." I storm out of the restaurant. Just like that, Julian and I never see each other again. Days pass by, weeks pass by and Julian does not contact me. For some reason, I feel like I might have been a bit too harsh. Lucas on the other hand has been in a really bad mood lately, he has also increased the security in the house. Almost like he doesn't want me out at all.Today, I just got a mail from the hospital on my test results. Last week, I had gone to the hospital for some check ups because of the weird symptoms I had. I even took a bold step by taking a pregnancy test.As i rip the brown envelope open, I stare at the white stick in my hand. Two pink lines glare at me, confirming my worse fears.I am pregnant and the father is not Lucas.
Sophia’s POVThe morning sun spills through the lace curtains of a private suite in Julian’s sprawling London estate, its soft glow dancing across a mahogany vanity where I sit, preparing for a discreet doctor’s visit to check on our daughter, Lily. My hair is pinned loosely, my cotton dress light against my skin, the gentle swell of my pregnancy a quiet reminder of the life we’re nurturing. I pack a small bag with essentials—a notebook for questions, a soft scarf for comfort,my heart fluttering with anticipation for news of Lily’s health. This hidden estate, its stone walls and secret passages, shields us from Daniel’s cunning, Emily’s pursuit, Nadya’s silence, and my parents’ greed. My past, once fractured by Emily’s cruel act, is knitting together—Julian’s laughter, his vows each moment a stitch, weaving hope into my heart.Julian enters, a tray of tea and toast in hand, his dark hair glinting in the light, his blue eyes bright with a warmth that steadies me. Nadya’s POVThe flickering light of a single lamp casts jagged shadows across the cracked walls of a safehouse in a city I won’t name, its peeling paint and musty air a stark contrast to the opulent offices I once commanded at Anderson Enterprises. I sit at a rickety table, my fingers tracing the edges of a burner phone, its blank screen a reminder of my severed ties. My dark hair is pulled into a tight bun, my jacket worn, my nerves frayed as I sift through the wreckage of my plans. Julian and Sophia are ghosts, their whereabouts a void I can’t pierce, hidden by Julian’s wealth and cunning. My deal with the prosecutors trading secrets for leniency lies in tatters, my leverage gone, and I’m alone, hunted by Daniel’s ambition, Emily’s desperation, and the law’s closing net. My betrayal of Sophia, my role in Lucas’s schemes, haunts me, but I’m not done I’ll claw my way out, rewrite my story.I lean back, the chair creaking, the air heavy with the scent of damp wood and stale coffee. Julian’s POVI close the laptop, its soft click echoing in the quiet study, the weight of my plans to shield Sophia and our unborn daughter, Lily, settling like a mantle over my shoulders. The morning light fades, and a restless need to see Sophia pulls me from the desk. I step through the estate’s hidden corridors, my footsteps muffled on the polished floors, until I reach a private balcony overlooking a secluded courtyard, its ivy-covered walls bathed in the soft glow of dawn. My dark hair catches the breeze, my sweater light against my skin, and I lean on the wrought-iron railing, my mind charting the next steps to keep our enemies at bay—Daniel’s cunning, Emily’s pursuit, Nadya’s silence, Sophia’s parents’ greed all locked out by this fortress of stone and secrecy. Sophia’s past, broken by Emily’s cruel act, is healing, her trust in me a beacon, and I’ll ensure no shadow dims her light.I breathe deeply, the air crisp with the scent of dew and blooming jasmine, and decide to plan
Julian’s POVThe morning sun filters through the heavy drapes of a private study in my London estate, its oak desk cluttered with maps and encrypted messages, the faint hum of a secure laptop filling the air. I lean back in a leather chair, my fingers drumming on the armrest, my mind racing through the web of threats encircling Sophia and our unborn daughter, Lily. My dark hair falls across my forehead, my sweater soft against my skin, but my thoughts are sharp, honed on protecting the life we’ve built in this hidden refuge. Sophia’s POVThe dawn’s golden warmth lingers in the secluded bedroom of Julian’s London estate, but as our breaths steady, our bodies still entwined from the intensity of our shared passion, I feel a quiet pull to create something new, a melody to echo our love. I slip from the silk sheets, my skin still flushed, and pull on a soft linen dress, its fabric cool against my thighs. Julian watches, his blue eyes glinting with a tender glow, his bare chest rising slowly, and I smile, taking his hand. “Come with me,” I whisper, my voice light, leading him through the estate’s hidden corridors to a music room I discovered yesterday, its polished wood and velvet curtains a haven for our hearts. This secret refuge, its high walls and veiled paths, keeps us beyond the reach of Daniel’s cunning, Emily’s schemes, Nadya’s silence, and my parents’ greed. My skin hums with the aftershocks of pleasure, my limbs heavy, my breath slowing as I lie against Julian’s chest, his heartbeat a steady thrum beneath my cheek. The silk sheets are a rumpled cocoon around us, the air thick with the scent of our desire, and my pregnancy’s gentle curve presses against his side, our daughter, Lily, a quiet presence in this hidden haven. No one can find us here—not Daniel with his cunning plots, not Emily with her schemes, not Nadya or my parents, whose betrayals are mere whispers, drowned by the pulse of our love.
