CHAPTER 66

After leaving the salon that afternoon, Nancy decided to drop by Lloyd’s office to see if she could steal him from work for a few hours so they could have lunch.

She meant to surprise him so she didn’t call to inform him of her coming. Lloyd had previously instructed his staff to never keep Nancy waiting no matter how important of a meeting he was in.

She was always to be allowed access to his office. When Nancy got to the door of Lloyd’s enclosed office, she could hear voices coming from inside.

She initially thought Lloyd was in a business meeting and was about to head back to the lobby to wait when she heard Lloyd raise his voice. “Get out” was the most audible of his words.

Then she heard the voice of the woman refusing to leave. She leaned in and placed her ear to the door. She could hear the woman begging Lloyd to take her in the office.

She noticed how Lloyd went silent. Was he considering it, being with another woman, in his office of all places? She pushed the doo
