CHAPTER-1

HER:

_____

This is not the life I ever thought I would have but is not complaining about it, I never did. I am grateful for whatever I have and would have. I am content right now and still learning new things in life. I have got a few friends here who supported me every time through thin and thick.

Human beings are full of wishes which are never-ending because it's in their nature. Some want money, looks or fame or some want attention and appreciation but some people want a happy and peaceful life and I'm one of them, trust me every single person wants it subconsciously. Life is not a bed of roses. There are sorrow and happy moments.

Society plays a big role in your misery or success, on the top of it when you are an Indian girl and tagged with the title of 'to be ex-wife'. let's not talk about it now, it's a story for another time.

While thinking about my life I didn't realise I was about to reach my workplace. "90'dream house cafe" I smiled, my destination. ohh fish! I am late. I jogged towards the door and entered inside.

One of the reasons why I work here is because I love bakery things. The pastries, cakes and coffee etc. They are my life. I walked inside and there stood my bestie Amy(Amanda) with a naughty look and narrowed eyes. I knew that she was going to blurt something smart but useless for me.

"Babes! You know, knowledge is power is time is money," she said. I snorted.

"Ughh! stop with the Ambrose."

She pouted. "at least that silent ice-man is hot." I sighed. Nothing can be done with this dream girl.

"Yo girl, let's start your work otherwise cakey-face would exaggerate your late coming." She said. I rolled my eyes. That's the truth I know cakey-face aka Stacy is one of the waitresses who only works here to get different flavours once a week. She is worse than the brothel I'm telling you.

I headed towards the empty counter, where a young man in his late 20's was talking to our barista (uncle Tom). I stood there listening to their talks as I didn't want to disturb them.

Then the young man turned to me and threw a polite smile my way.

"Mani, again late by five minutes." He chuckled. "So how are you?" He asked. He knows me well.

"As good as always. I thought to say hello to you first because I don't want to get complained about by my favourite girl." I replied, blinking my eyes.

He laughed. Our manager and friend, Samuel who always behaves well mannered and gentlemanly. Everyone here is good and polite to me except that cakey-face. You know..

"Alright! let's get started with your work now. You are late already and customers started coming."

I nodded and went to the changing room and changed myself into a waitress uniform including a faded blue-lined shirt and pants, put my hair into a ponytail and came out. Amy was already doing her work rushing here and there. I also prepared myself and pulled a pen and notebook and went to my first customers who are an old couple. I like to serve others, with or without reward. Selfless services are the best thing we can do for others. They are treasures.

After some hours I took a break and went inside the cafe kitchen to have some snacks as I can't stand hungry for more than three hours, I am foody. I grabbed one dark chocolate truffle pastry and started savouring it, its life. I can die for it.

I was almost done with my last bite when I stared ahead and stilled. I stopped chewing, there my crazy friend with frozen form was coming in my way. She has that ecstatic look on her face. She came to me and looked at her left and right with the faraway look in her eyes. I gave her a questioning look.

"Pinch me, pinch me hard. Damn it...oh my Jesus....' oh my fucking pink fluffy slippers', please! spare me with loads of adonis's faces." She breathed hard and fanned herself with her hands. I rolled my eyes and swallowed my last bite.

"Babes! you know, what kind of hot species I just saw. my goodness, my desire comes true..finally!! Ah, my heartbeat..I fucking need to see a doctor. I cant. I just can't take the risk to look again..how come!! How come they are here..these kinda greek gods only available in heaven.....Kill me." She said, breathed out.

I scowled at her. "Stop your blubbering. you sound like you just discerned the living god. Now Keep your horses calm and tell me." I asked. She gave me a silly smile and twirled around.

I am losing my patience now this girl is wasting my time. I slammed the plate on the counter and she stopped. Finally! I sighed. she pouted. I narrowed my eyes at her.

"THE KINGS."

"What the kings?"

"THE KINGS. She screamed out.

Has she lost her sanity? She is talking like the so-called real kings of some kingdom are present here.

"Who kings?" I asked restraining myself from slaughtering her.

She threw me murderous look and replied, "THE KINGS....sinfully fucking irresistible hottie-shottie adonis greek gods are here...oh my Jesus! They are here in our cafe bestowing us the elusive presence of them." She dreamily told me.

"Oh my DRK...how lucky I am to have the glimpse of him." She talked to herself.

"DRK," I whispered.
