‎Kane exhaled deeply, the weight in his chest still crushing despite the light in Lyra and Mason’s eyes. He stood fully, adjusting the cuff of his shirt as he pressed a button on the intercom.

‎“Send Kareen in,” he said curtly.

‎Moments later, Kareen entered, her usual elegance dulled by the worry still etched into her features since Castelle’s injury. Her gaze darted to the kids, then to Kane.

‎“These two,” Kane said, motioning to Lyra and Mason, “are under our roof now. Find them a place. Something they can do that gives them purpose. A routine. A home.”

‎Kareen’s brows lifted slightly. She hadn’t expected softness from him—but she nodded. “Of course.”

‎Lyra and Mason both turned to Kane.

‎“Thank you,” Lyra breathed. “Thank you so much.”

‎“We won’t let you down,” Mason added, bowing his head.

‎Kane waved it off. “Go. Rest. Eat something that wasn’t made in fear.”

‎The lights in Kane’s private office were dim, casting long shadows against the dark wood and concrete walls. The scent of dried blood lingered faintly on his skin—a remnant of vengeance delivered. His shirt was discarded on the floor beside his desk, forgotten.‎Kane sat at the edge of the leather couch, hunched forward with his elbows on his knees, his head buried in his palms. His fingers dug into his scalp as if pain could replace the torment of waiting.‎His bare torso rose and fell with shallow, tired breaths. The tattoos inked across his chest and ribs pulsed subtly with movement—sprawling black vines and ancient demonic glyphs twisting over the firm muscle, like marks of power and curse.‎Lucien and Matteo stepped into the office quietly but froze at the sight before them.‎“Shit,” Matteo murmured.‎Lucien’s face tightened. “He hasn’t slept.”‎The overhead light flickered, catching the pronounced bags under Kane’s bloodshot eyes. His usually sharp expression was clouded, dulle

The hospital wing was quiet.‎Too quiet.‎Kane moved with slow, lethal steps toward Castelle’s room, his black shirt stained with her dried blood, jaw clenched, eyes shadowed with rage and exhaustion.‎He reached for the door.‎Kareen stepped in front of it.‎“No.”‎Kane’s entire frame stiffened. “Move.”‎“She needs to rest, Kane. She's in a coma—emotions won't help her now.”‎“I said, move.”‎Kareen held her ground, even as her hands trembled slightly. “She doesn’t need chaos when she wakes up. Not yet. Not from you.”‎A deadly silence settled between them.‎Kane’s lips twitched in fury, his shoulders heaving. He looked like a storm wrapped in flesh, barely held back.‎Vincent stepped forward, hand on Kane’s arm. “Son. Take a Walk please.”‎Kane’s nostrils flared, but he obeyed. With one long breath, he straightened and took a step back, his eyes locked on Castelle’s unconscious form through the glass.‎Then his voice dropped—low, dangerous, like the strike of a blade.‎“You never ke

‎Kane sat in the backseat of the armored SUV, Castelle curled weakly in his arms, her body trembling, blood staining the sleeves of his shirt. He held her tighter, brushing matted hair from her face as if she were porcelain on the verge of shattering completely.‎“Lucien,” his voice was hoarse but sharp. “Get the other two—Lyra and Mason. Bring them back. No one gets left behind.”‎“Yes, Boss.”‎“Matteo,” Kane added, not looking away from Castelle’s bruised face. “Call the syndicate doctor. Tell him I’m bringing *my woman*. She’ll need blood—make every fucking preparation now.”‎The estate gates flew open upon their arrival. As the SUV screeched to a halt, Kane barked, “Hospital wing. Now.”‎The driver didn’t need to be told twice.‎Inside the hospital wing of Kane’s estate, bright lights were already flickering to life. Kareen stood beside Vincent, who had just finished scrubbing in. Her hands trembled, her lips set in a trembling line.‎As soon as the doors opened, Kane carried Cast

‎Meanwhile, Kane’s eyes were pure fire. “Gear up,” he told Matteo, Lucien, and four elite guards. “No one walks out unless my woman does.”‎At the compound, chaos stirred.‎The captives were tied again, weaker now. A new man strolled in, eyes hungry. He walked past Mason and Lyra—until he paused at Lyra.‎“Well, well,” he sneered, licking his lips.‎Castelle’s voice rang out. “You so much as touch her, I swear Kane Salvatore will rip you open from the inside.”‎The man chuckled, turning toward her. “You again, masochist?” He leaned down and grabbed her by the jaw. “I think you enjoy the pain.”‎“I enjoy watching animals like you burn,” she spat.‎He grabbed her throat, tightening until her voice cut off. “Still got a mouth, huh?”‎He backhanded her hard.‎Her head snapped sideways, cracking against the wall. Blood trickled from her temple.‎“CASTELLE!” Lyra screamed.‎She slumped.‎But her eyes never left him.‎And far, far away, the Devil was already on his way.‎---‎The convoy of m

‎Castelle stormed into the lounge, ignoring the raised brows from a few lounging members of the crew. Her emotions boiled over, all the confusion, the rejection, the grief—Delilah’s madness, Kane’s cruelty. It was too much.‎She poured herself a glass of bourbon.‎Then another.‎Then more.‎"Leave her be," Lucien muttered when someone moved to stop her. "She looks like she needs it."‎An hour passed, the bottle nearly empty.‎As her head lolled back against the couch, a shadow fell over her.‎A tall man with a trimmed beard and a crooked nose leaned in close.‎“Boss is waiting for you outside, Miss,” he said smoothly. “Car’s ready.”‎Her eyes lit up, a lazy smile playing on her lips.‎“Kane?” she slurred.‎The man nodded, helping her up.‎She stumbled through the hallway, waving at whoever stared, and disappeared into the night.‎‎---‎‎Castelle awoke to silence and cold.‎Her limbs screamed in protest. Her mouth was dry. Her head pounded. And… she couldn’t move.‎Her arms were tied t
