Elliot's POV

Marcus found the arcade on his phone while I was still on the couch with the cat asleep on my chest. He just stood up, grabbed his keys off the hook, and looked at me until I got the message.

"Where are we going?" I asked, pulling the shirt back over my head.

"You'll see." He said it without turning around, keys already jingling in his hand.

I followed him confused without knowing anything.

The drive took twenty minutes, no one spoke to each other during the drive and the radio sta

Marcus POVThe private wing was too quiet after everything that happened last night and that quiet was getting on my nerves.I had been standing at the end of the corridor for a long time with my coat still damp from the rain, and I could feel the wet fabric sticking to my shirt every time I breathed. I did not bother to take it off, just stood there watching Elliot through the narrow glass panel on his door, watching the monitors blink and beep like they were the only things in the world that still knew what to do.Stable, that was the word the doctors kept using, like it was supposed to make me feel better.Stable did not mean he was awake or safe. Stable just meant his heart had not stopped while I was standing out here doing nothing. The knife had gone in deeper than it looked at first. I kept seeing it in my head, the way he was lying on that concrete floor in the basement, the way the blood kept spreading under him while his mother's video kept looping on the phone like it did n

Margaret's POVI was still holding my coffee when I came down the stairs that morning. My name is Margaret, and as Priya's stepmother, I had grown used to the quiet routine of our mornings. Sunlight spilled through the front windows in clean, ordinary lines across the floor, and from the dining room I could already hear the soft clink of cutlery and the rustle of a newspaper being turned. Chloe followed a few steps behind me, phone in her hand as usual, her expression still half-asleep. Neither of us expected the day to be anything other than routine. Priya was almost always the last one downstairs, if she came down at all.He was already at the table when we entered. Priya’s father sat in his usual place at the head, newspaper folded beside his plate, coffee cooling untouched. He glanced up briefly as we took our seats, then returned his attention to the paper as though our arrival barely registered.“Where’s Priya?” I asked, setting my cup down carefully.“Upstairs,” he answered wit

Priya POVI didn’t expect to feel this light, being left alone in a strange house brought by a stranger who helped me without knowing who it was.It felt so good and bad at the same time. But what can I do, I need to live my life freely even if it is for a day. After the shower and the long quiet stretch on the bed, something in me loosened just enough to let me move through the apartment without flinching at every soft sound. The note still sat on the kitchen island where I had left it. I read it one more time, then folded it carefully and slipped it into the pocket of the borrowed sweatpants. Safe for today. I decided to test the words instead of only staring at them. The kitchen was stocked better than I expected. Real ingredients, not just the usual rich-person basics. I found eggs, fresh herbs, a block of cheese, bread that still felt soft when I pressed it. Cooking had always been one of the few things that quieted my head. At the house I almost never got the chance; the kitchen

  • Tamed By Domdaddy    Chapter 71

Priya POVThe first thing I noticed was the quiet. Not the thin, watchful quiet of my room at the house, where every floorboard and distant voice carried meaning. This quiet was thicker. Softer. It had weight, like expensive curtains and sealed windows and space that belonged to someone who never had to listen for footsteps on the stairs.I opened my eyes slowly. The ceiling above me was high and pale, broken only by the clean line of a recessed light that wasn’t switched on. Soft grey daylight filtered through floor-to-ceiling windows to my left. Beyond the glass the city stretched out in a muted wash of rain and rooftops, far enough below that the sound of it didn’t reach me. For a long moment I just stared, trying to make the view settle into something I recognised. It didn’t.I sat up too fast. Pain flared low between my legs and along the insides of my thighs, a deep, bruised ache that made my breath catch. My wrists felt tender when I pushed against the mattress. The sheets arou

Cole’s POV Next Day~Brewvrin Hospital.I woke up to the smell of antiseptic and the low, steady beep of a monitor. The room was private, expensive, the kind my father always arranged when appearances still mattered. Pale walls. Soft light through half-closed blinds. A single chair by the window that sat empty. No one had stayed the night. I hadn’t expected anyone to.My body ached in deep, layered places the old marks from the cue and the newer ones that had needed actual medical attention. I remembered the study, the words I had thrown at my father, the way the wood had kept coming. I remembered being half-conscious when the private doctors arrived. My father had not come with them. Of course he hadn’t. He did not sit at bedsides. He simply refused to let his heir die in a way that would create inconvenient questions.I stared at the ceiling for a long time before i pressed the call button. The nurse who appeared was polite and careful. When i said i wanted to walk, she hesitated, t

  • Tamed By Domdaddy    Chapter 69

Elliot’s POVThe footsteps in the corridor were getting closer, but not close enough. The figure in black moved first. They lunged low and fast. I barely got my arms up before the impact drove me sideways into the couch. Pain exploded along my ribs. I hit the floor hard, the breath knocked out of me in a single broken rush. The phone skidded further away under the table, the open line still crackling with the distant voice shouting my name.I scrambled backward on pure instinct. My hand closed around the leg of the low table and I dragged it between us. The figure kicked it aside like it weighed nothing. Something metal flashed in the red light short, sharp, meant for close work. I twisted away as it came down. The blade still caught the outside of my upper arm and opened a hot line of pain that made my vision white out for a second.Blood ran warm and fast down my sleeve.I kicked out blindly and felt my heel connect with their knee. The figure staggered half a step. It was enough fo
