LOGINIvan’s mansion was located at the heart of Century Center. The most expensive residence in the United States. The black SUV entered a big tall black gate and came to a halt as it entered the garage. Ellen came down, surprise etched on her face as her gaze lingered on the mansion. Ivan smirked when he noticed her expression, didn’t bother about her and walked into the grand door. She slowly walked inside, her gaze still surveying everywhere.
Inside, the air was cold, clean, and expensive. The floors were obsidian-polished stone that reflected low, ambient lighting. The walls wore matte charcoal with accents of deep mahogany. Every piece of furniture was handpicked, dark leather, sharp angles and custom built. Nothing was accidental.
The mansion contained six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a private gym, an indoor shooting range, and a wine cellar hidden behind a false wall. But Ivan rarely entertained. The massive lounge, with its low-slung Italian sofas and glass fireplace, was mostly silent. Behind the mansion was a courtyard and a swimming pool beside it. Armed guards were stationed discretely at every corner of the mansion.
It was magnificent!
Her gaze surveyed everywhere. She won’t be able to escape this mansion. She would probably be caught before she gets outside the mansion. Ellen gave a bitter smile.
As she delved deeper into the mansion, she came across maids and they also looked at her with interest, their curiosity piqued, as their master had never brought any female home.
As she kept on wandering, a woman in her sixties, with her head full of grey hair approached her and gave her a kind smile.
“Miss, master, ask me to show you your room.” Sarah’s eyes lingered on her face.
Such a beauty!
She concluded as she smiled warmly.
“Lead the way ma’am.” Ellen replied back, her gaze filled with curiosity.
Noticing her gaze, the woman chuckled and introduced herself briefly.
“My name is Sarah and I am the caretaker of this mansion. You can call me Sarah.”
“Okay Sarah.” Ellen followed behind as they got to her room. Sarah left her alone and she opened the door surveying her room.
Her room was decorated beautifully different from the monochrome color of the mansion. She opened the walk-in closet and gasped in surprise. The closet was filled with different types of clothes, ranging from formal wear to casual wear, even her panties and underwear were included. She blushed as she wondered how he knew her sizes.
She entered the bathroom and was marveled at what she saw, everything was made with gold and the bathtub was enough to fit five people. She came out of the bathroom and her gaze landed on the king sized bed, beside the bed was a table with skincare of different brands.
Ellen rolled her eyes at the brands, they were not cheap.
Is he trying to show off his wealth? She thought.
She slowly walked to the bed and laid on it.
She slowly drifted into sleep while thinking of her parents.
A series of knocks was heard which made Ellen wake up. Still on her bed, she opened her eyes and rubbed her temple.
“Who is it?” She questioned.
“Miss, are you asleep?” Sarah’s voice was heard at the other end of the door.
Ellen stood up to open the door for Sarah.
“No, I just woke up.” She replied as Sarah entered the room.
“Miss, master wants to have dinner with you.” Sarah continued.
Ellen's eyes widened with anger, “No, I’m not having dinner with that bastard.”
Sarah’s voice quivered as she continued again, “M…Master said your parents will be killed if you don’t come to have dinner with him.”
“What!” Ellen heaved in anger and made a beeline for the door.
Before she could get out of her room, she was called by Sarah again.
“Miss, master, ask you to put on some lingerie before coming to meet him.”
Lingerie? Great! She has never been so ashamed in her life. She was brought like a socialite and good values and morals were inculcated in her from a young age. Rose made sure she has all these good values in her as she always says, “the beauty of a woman is in her character.”
Ivan has just made her so cheap this way. She has been proud all her life and right now… She dug her fingers into her palm, her breathing rapid.
She breathed deeply and she calmed herself down. “Ellen, just this time.”
Knowing the life of her parents were in line, she quickly walked through the closet and took the lingerie and put it on. Sarah led the way to the dining hall as she followed behind.
Ivan sat at the head of the dining table looking like a king in hell. He saw Ellen from the distance and smirked. He knew she was not going to have dinner with him so, he threatened her with her parents, telling Sarah to pass that to her in that manner.
And as such, she complied. When he noticed the lingerie on her, his Adam apple bobbed up and down and he felt heat downwards.
“Master, miss is here.” Sarah said and took her leave.
Ellen glared at him as she sat far from him.
“Should I come to you instead?” Ivan's cold voice sounded in the dining hall.
Ellen stood up and sat beside Ivan as the maid dishes out the food. The maids returned to their position after serving the food and bowed their heads. They could only raise their head when they were tasked to do something.
Ellen picked up her spoon and began eating without a care in the world. She noticed Ivan’s gaze on her and rolled her eyes at him.
“What are you looking at?”
“You!” Ivan smirked.
She pressed a hand to her chest. "O my gosh, he is so direct." Ellen cleared her throat as she fiddled with the spoon on her plate. She acted as if she did not hear him speak.
Ivan chuckled in response, his gaze still lingered making her uncomfortable.
As his gaze stayed on her, heat flushed downwards as his bulge rose. Ellen saw it, and her hands on the utensils quivered. She acted as if she was unaware of what was going on and focused on eating her food.
“Ellen, you are interesting.” Ivan ran his hand over his hair as he smirked at her.
He continued, “I am intrigued, you are the only woman that won’t throw yourself at me.”
Ivan’s eyes darkened as he looked at her, wanting to conquer her haughty behavior.
“We will see who will save you.” Ivan's cold voice rang, making her shudder.
Ricardo trudged slowly out of the old mansion. His steps were slow and heavy, his gaze unfocused and back hunched as if all the weight of the world had suddenly been placed on his shoulders. His steps were uneven and he might collapse if he didn't steady himself. He looked like a man that had just lost the most precious thing in the world. The night air blew colder than usual when he got outside but he didn't feel anything. He seemed unable to. Without sparing another glance behind him, he slid into the car. The leather felt warm against his cold self, he started the engine and very soon, the car roared to life before driving along the quiet road. The drive to the Adams mansion felt both long and painfully short. His mind drifted. The same images again and again. At first, when she had rushed towards him, he saw the marks on her chest, but he dismissed the idea. He thought maybe there were just mosquito bites. Then, the scenes at the garden replayed in his mind again. The position he
That voice, that cold voice. Ellen shuddered, her hand suddenly slipping from Ricardo’s as she distanced herself away from him.“G… going home.” Her words jumbled against one another.Ivan stood a few steps away, watching them with the same cold smile that made her stomach twist. He wasn't angry. That was what frightened her the most. “And did I allow you?” The voice asked, enjoying every bit of her expression.Ivan glanced at the side, a gentleman stood by the side looking at him with a hateful expression. No wonder she liked him, she likes this type? Tut…he looks weak. Would he be able to protect her this way? “You must be Ricardo, the boyfriend.”Ricardo pushed his chest out and said menacingly. “Yes, I am. And who are you?”Ivan’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “Don’t play with fire, young lad.” “Who are you calling a young lad?” He was only two or three years younger. They are within the same age bracket and why does he need to act like his father's age mate?Ivan didn't answer
By this point, dinner had arrived and the grand hall shifted into a different rhythm as the food demanded attention. It was said that the servants in the old mansion underwent rigorous training before they were put out there to serve the Vladimir family as the reputation of the family depended on it.The servants were dressed in uniforms as they moved gracefully through the crowd with practiced precision as they were taught and their polished shoes barely made sounds against the marble floor. They carried silver trays filled with a variety of dishes which were brought out from the kitchen one by one and the food filled the hall with rich aromas that immediately made everyone’s mouth water in the process. The scent of roasted meat, mixed vegetables, warm bread and expensive wine slowly filled every corner and gradually replaced the tension that had earlier dominated the cold mansion. The guests began moving toward the long dining tables that were covered in fine linen and arranged b
“And who gave you permission to go?” The voice cut through the air like a blade.Every conversation and laughter died instantly in the grand hall and the mansion was immediately plunged into silence.“I did.” Theo answered almost immediately, his tone clipped with calmness but edged with defiance as if he was not challenging the most dangerous man in the room.Ivan’s eyes darkened.“And who are you to do that?” Ivan bellowed, his voice booming across the mansion. The sound reverberated across the marble pillars and the guests cowered instinctively in trepidation.“Your older brother.” Theo’s reply was simple but the weight behind it was careless and unmistakable, as if to provoke him.“Ha, brother you say.”The word ‘brother’ hung in the air like smoke. Ellen felt it, a current of tension that made her skin crawl. She pressed herself closer to the wall to make herself invisible. Both looked at each other, their gaze locked, sparks flying invisibly between them as the mansion dropped
“Stop.”Slowly, Ellen turned towards Ivan, her heart pounding wildly in her chest as a thousand frantic thoughts collided in her mind. Is he going to take her back to the mansion?!But, she has finally left the cold walls of the mansion and besides, her parents are here waiting for her. Just one step. One step. No, like five steps, she could finally enter the mansion. She pinched the soft flesh of her palm, grounding herself in the sharp sting of pain as she quickly assessed the situation before her.He had just harassed her in the helicopter. Panic clawed at her chest. If she didn't act now, Ivan might change his mind and drag her back. She glanced at the dazzling old mansion from the corner of her eyes. The mansion… so close, yet completely out of reach.Suddenly, she moved towards him and kowtowed to him. “Please Ivan, don't take me back to the mansion.” She dropped her head lower, almost touching the floor.Ivan looked at the girl on the floor. He couldn't believe this was the
Ellen squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for death to claim her. She pushed back every fear and worries to the back of mind and waited. Finally, she could go and meet Grandpa Lupe. The old man had died since she was young. The kind grandfather had done his possible best to make her happy and had not treated her in any bad way. He had always slipped sweets into her pockets and even when she was in the wrong and was about to be punished by her mom, she would run to Grand Lupe who would shield her from the beatings and punishments. The six year old Ellen called out breathlessly. “Grandpa Lupe, Grandpa Lupe.” She crouched down immediately as she got closer to him, holding his legs for support from the small run.“What is it Ellen?” Grandpa Lupe’s warm voice answered as he crouched down to her eye level.Six year old Ellen pouted her lips as she pointed at the apple tree in front of her, her fingers still trembling from the small run. “I want apples, but mama doesn't want me to have them.
