Liv's POV
THE FIRST THING that woke me up the next day was the feeling of ecstasy. I sat up from my bed, staring around the room I was in. It was a small room with barely anything in it. It was cold too, but I couldn't complain to anybody since nobody would listen to an Omega.Okay enough with the omega talks. It was finally here! My 18th birthday! The day I get my wolf and also the day I get to meet my mate. With that motivation, I jumped out of bed. I didn't know when exactly I was going to get my wolf or my mate, but the most important thing was the day had finally come.On getting out of my room, the first person I sighted was Mrs Yvonne making her way towards me with her signature scowl on her face.Oh crap!Just in time to ruin my mood."Quit stalling about and make your way to the mansion and get things done. Do I have to tell that to you all the time!" she thundered.Maybe if I told her it was my birthday, she would take it easy on me. I shook my head already running in the direction of the mansion that wasn't so far from the staff quarters. I knew even if I told her, she wouldn't to care about that. The plan was to do my work as fast as possible, trying to avoid the 3 devils, especially Max and Ryder.I got to the kitchen and then I started my normal routine of, cleaning, cooking, washing the dishes sweeping the floor countless times, also scrubbing the floors of the mansion.I worked so hard that you'd think I was the only maid in the mansion, but that wasn't the case since there were others. They'd preferred to leave all the work to me because they felt I was the omega and was meant to work way more than any of them.At least I was being fed and wasn't thrown out the moment I was brought into the world. That was what they always said. After cleaning the kitchen, I took the garbage can outside to empty it. While emptying it, I heard a voice inside me."Pssst" the voice resonated. After looking everywhere and not seeing anybody, my heart began to pound inside my chest. The voice came again, "Liv it's me, Anne, your wolf" The voice echoed,My heart skipped a happybeat. I was nervous, not knowing how to act. That euphoria didn't last for long when I suddenly felt a wave of energy gush through me. It was quick, boosting my adrenaline almost immediately."You know how it happens Liv. I need to be out fully to stay"I knew what she meant. She was talking about shifting. Shifting for the first time could be a bit nasty, so I needed to find a spot, a comfortable spot where I could yell and scream without attracting attention.Dumping the trashcan to the floor, I sprinted to the woods and on getting as far as my legs could carry me, I closed my eyes, inhaling sharply. "I am ready""Okay Liv, but be prepared. This is going to hurt" she informed me.The first thing I felt was the bones of my right leg snapping. A scream evaded my lips as I dropped to the floor. For the other wolves, before shifting, they were given some potions to help with the pain, but since I was an omega and didn't have anybody to ask for it, I had to bear.Sweat flowed down my legs as my hands trembled on the floor. I heard another cracking sound from my other leg and I screamed even louder, gritting and cursing. Blood flowed down my body mixed with sweat. My hands cracked too and while I was still screaming from that, my legs started developing hair. Right from my knuckles grew claws, tearing through my skin like a blade. The more the blood oozed out from the opening, the more I screamed."Make it fucking stop!" I cried to no one in particular. The more I cried, the more I shifted and then I realized since it had already started, I had to wait for it to stop before the pain would be over. Just like the first hand, the second hand grew clawsWhen I couldn't take it anymore, I fell to the floor, while I quivered from the excruciating pain that shot through my whole body.Until it finally stopped. My wolf shook, dusting off my blood on its brown fur. She had taken over and I was inside."I am sorry, but that is how it is meant to be"I suddenly forgot the pain I felt moments ago and my thoughts were filled back with exhilaration. I felt that burst of energy inside of me. I wanted to explore this new body, but I didn't know how to."If you want to run or jump, all you have to do is do it," Anne said to me."Whoa, how did you know what I was thinking?""I am you and you are me. We are one person. That is why you can speak to me through your mind. If you want to run, all you need to do is run like you would in your human form. This body might be different, but it‘s still yours"Just as she had said, I moved the first limb and it worked. In no time, I was sprinting through the woods like a freak. I knew my wolf wasn't as fast as the rest since I was an omega by birth, but it still felt fast enough, faster than my human feet.I spent the whole day learning everything about my wolf, how to climb trees, how to jump high, everything. She had to be the first person I could call my genuine friend. It all went on till night came and I knew I had to shift back."There is only one thing we need to do Liv" she whispered as I stared at the mansion."Find our mate" she completed.I didn't know how that could be possible, but I was going to try. I started having second thoughts as I walked back into the mansion. What If my mate wasn't even there? Darkmoon pack was large, and there were chances of my mate being there, but I still had my doubts.I walked through the same hallway where I met Callum the previous night. That was when an unfamiliar overwhelming scent hit my nose.It was two different scents and the two of them were distracting. The scents were both strong and intoxicating at the same time."That's our mate, we need to find him!" my wolf cried out in desperationI stopped to think. Was it possible for my mate to have two scents? Before I could give myself an answer, I overheard feet shuffling from the other end of the hall. The more the powerful footsteps got closer, the more the scents grew stronger.I gasped. It had to be my mate, but the feet shuffling sounded like it was more than one person. I stood where I was with my feet planted to the floor by anxiety. I was nervously waiting for the person and I hoped it would be someone good. The footsteps got even nearer. Then I glimpsed two figures burst out into the hallway. Staring at them from up to down, my heart dropped. They were the ones with the scent, the goddamn intoxicating scent! Max and Ryder both looked at me with their green eyes darkened, filled with lust. They seemed like they were going to devour me on the spot."No no no"! I kept muttering to myself, until my wolf decided to shake my world by saying the word."Mate" she whispered and then she screamed, "Mates!"Oh hell no!I turned to run, but before I could, it suddenly went all dark. The power had been cut off. This had never happened before. Why was it now I was trying to get away from them?I stood where I was, trying my best to peer through the darkness and get out of there. I struggled to see in the dark, but since they had Alpha blood in them, seeing in the dark was not a problem for them.I thought I was doing a good job, slipping away, but then I bumped into someone in the darkness. I was grasped by the waist by the other person, pinning me to the wall."Mate" A voice growled. It was Max and he was the one holding my waist,"Mine!" Ryder echoed and I felt his hand digging into my thighs.Don’t forget to vote 👁️👄👁️
Liv's POV Wake up, Liv! Wake up! Liv! I opened my eyes immediately and found myself lying on the floor of a room where I could barely see a thing. My wolf had been calling for hours. Although it was difficult to see in the room, I was strongly convinced that it wasn't my cell room. The floor was finished with slate unlike my cell room which was raw concrete. Moreover, if it was my cell room, I wouldn't be sleeping on the floor. I wouldn't even have rolled off to the floor because my bed was too big for that.. I tried to get up from the floor and a sharp ache hit the back of my neck. "Argh." I groaned, before carefully placing my palm on the spot and massaging it gently. And in that moment when I touched the spot where I felt the ache, a brief memory flashed through my head. I recalled being hit on that spot. And it happened in my cell room. Slowly, it all started coming back to me. Max! He had definitely sent that soldier back to my cell to knock me out. But what for? I folded
Callum's POV Max stood close to one of the glass walls of his penthouse. His back faced the door where I entered from and he didn't bother turning around to look at me. "Coming up here all alone, Callum, is a bold sign that you underestimate me so much," he said in a soft tone. "Cut the crap and tell me where you hid her," I ordered. He chuckled, throwing his head back. "Tell you where she is? Do you really want to know, Callum? Huh?" He shoved a feet backward in order to turn. "Don't dare it," I ordered. "Don't fucking move." "Huh? Don't tell me you're scared to look me in the face," he taunted. I gritted my teeth hard. "I promise you, Max, make another silly move and I will pull this fucking trigger. I swear on my life." "Bloody dare it," he taunted and finally turned around. I aimed the gun at his chest, carefully to shift it slightly from his heart. Then I pulled the trigger. What I expected to be a bang came out as a soft click sound. My orbs flew wide. When d
Callum's POVWhen I heard noises coming from the vent, I knew Ryder had arrived. But something baffled me. It had been more than thirty minutes now since the alarm went off, and yet, not a single man from Max's army had showed up.Climbing down from the vent, Ryder's brows lifted with surprise at the pile of enemy corpses heaped at a corner of the laundry room. "Quite some work you did here," he chuckled."Shut up," I mumbled, heightening my senses as the tip of my ears stood on edge.I went closer to the wall and placed my ear on it, listening carefully."They're coming," I blurted out immediately I started hearing footsteps approaching. "A lot of them. I think we're outnumbered.""That won't be a problem," Ryder said. "I came prepared."The moment he said that, I heard a heavy bang in the vent and two people murmuring and cussing at each other.Seeing a smile grow on Ryder's face, I raised a questioning brow."They're with us," he said, easing my nerves. Two soldiers came down from
Callum's POVThree trucks were ready to roll out, two loaded with arms and the last one with the tools for opening the tunnel. There were four men in each truck, except the last one which had just three of us.All the guns were muffled with silencers, and then, I instructed my men not to shift for any reason. We needed to do everything possible to avoid attracting attention to us as our group wasn't much of a force. As we drove closer to the location of the tunnel that led into the Darkmoon pack, we turned down our lights just in case some of Maxs guards were there. Luckily, there werent."Take your positions," I ordered the armed soldiers, tucking a pistol into the back of my trousers as I climbed down the truck. With a group of three soldiers who grabbed the equipment we had brought to cut the tunnel open, I went to the mouth of the tunnel. The foul stench of dead rodents hit my nose as we got to the entrance of the tunnel to inspect it. A channel that hadn't been used by our pack f
Callum's POVReturning to Dark sky pack with just a diary wasn't what I'd expected from my meeting with Samantha. Not after the risk we'd both taken to meet up in the woods of the Darkmoon. But the fact that Max kept a diary had me thinking and rethinking. If someone had told me he owned a diary, like a girl, I'd have doubted with every ounce of certainty.A sigh left me and I tucked the shitty diary into the pit of my arms.Ryder had a cup of hot coffee with him when I returned, his legs crossed as he rested them on the table while leaning back on his seat. He had never been a lover of coffee. Definitely, he was battling sleep. And yes, executing our plan had taken hell of time. But I'd rather bear that delay than a shameful defeat coming from advancing to fight Max without a proper plan."How did it go?" Ryder asked, dropping his coffee on the table."You mean the meeting with Samantha?" I purposely asked him."What else would I mean?" He queried. But I was pretty sure that if he p
Max's POVI smirked immediately I sighted Samantha’s figure emerge from the woods."Fucking bitch," I grinned. People who mistook silence for foolishness or weakness were the ones I despised the most. She froze in her tracks at the moment she saw me with my soldiers. With my senses heightened, I could hear her heartbeat throbbing fast, like a rat running out of its hole only to meet a cat waiting there for it."M-a-x," her lips quaked, ready to blurt a lie. But I didn't have the time for that.I had wasted much time already, all of which Callum had taken advantage of."It's not what you—" she tried to say, but I shushed her.Pointing at her, I ordered the soldiers who were with me, "arrest her!"A bitch like her deserved to rot in jail. Starved and punished without remorse."Please, Max. Don't do this!" She screamed as they dragged her away. She was the least of my problems. If she had some sense, she should have been able to tell from the start that I'd been following her with cauti
